MGSFV?! Chapter 479. If You Can't Be a Valkyrie, You Can Only Go Back and Inherit the Family Business; Super Durandal Person
Although the players were busy joking around, the script indeed had plenty of foreshadowing laid out in advance for characterization.
It was like an outline for a thesis.
Even if the exact content wasn't finalized, the writers always had a rough direction in mind.
For example—
not too long ago, in Chapter 32, Dr. Mei once said: "I'll be in charge of ideas, and she'll handle the management."
That was Mei's evaluation of her partnership with Prometheus.
And even after Prometheus left Mei's side, her new partner was also someone overflowing with creativity (in fact, even whimsical and unrestrained, running on sheer creativity).
Which meant Prometheus still had to do the managing.
Prometheus ended up on the same old road.
A robot's personality is also its fate.jpg
So sometimes, when players get a "she seems like that type of person" impression midway through the story, it might very well be intentional writing.
…
Anyway.
Suzannah appeared in Abyss City in a strange way—
launched there by Chimeric Ascension.
If Vill-V knew, she'd surely admire Suzannah, because a Divine Key she made had once again brought a "surprise."
Speaking of which, didn't Vill-V also quite like Pardofelis? After all, Pardofelis was always "surprised" by Vill-V's performances, making her a very likable audience.
Hmm…
Pardofelis is an ordinary human, and Suzannah is also an ordinary human.
If Pardofelis earned Vill-V's favor, Suzannah likely would too.
Thus—
"Pardofelis of the New Era" confirmed…
The stream chat debated until their discussion reached its final stage.
But then, someone offered a different opinion:
"But… Pardofelis doesn't have Suzannah's money."
"…That's true."
Pardofelis: ??
After all that reasoning, that's the conclusion you land on?
So what if she has mines at home…
[I'd like to get to know this rich lady.]
One such comment scrolled across the chat.
So very real.
Classic Pardofelis moment.
…
Back to the story.
After Suzannah figured out how she ended up in Abyss City, everyone had their laughs, but of course they had to get back to business.
Suzannah found some communication equipment in the city. While most had been damaged by the Stigmata Project…
Herrscher of Reason, Herrscher of Repair, Herrscher of Truth—Bronya.
Wasn't she right here?
So—no problem at all~
Full Herrscher of Reason.
Her specialty was precisely that she could "cook without rice."
The power of Reason—truly terrifying.
"Ah—it's on!"
"Looks like everything went smoothly."
"But even so, these devices might not be much use, no? With the whole planet being reconstructed by the Stigmata Project, what could ordinary comms connect to?"
Who could they contact?
That was indeed a problem.
But Suzannah remembered a special 495 channel she'd heard about from Arvette.
It was a special line set up between Otto and Planck during the standoff between Schicksal and Anti-Entropy, to avoid accidental conflict.
It was known as the Atlantic Line.
Basically, a Cold War "red telephone" (not joking).
And because of how critical it was, the quality was top-notch—it still worked!
[Great, Schicksal isn't dead after all.]
[When we saw Rosalia and Lilia fused into the Stigmata Project, I thought Schicksal was done for.]
[False alarm.]
"Wow, so that means we can contact Theresa and the others?"
"Yes… though, not Theresa."
"…?"
So Suzannah didn't reach Theresa.
She connected to—
the very character the players had just been discussing.
"Schicksal's one and only designated tool girl, reporting!"
Arvette saluted everyone.
[There she is—the tool girl (]
[Highly self-aware tool girl (respect)]
[Amazing self-recognition ability.]
[Arvette's Schicksal account nickname is literally 'toolgirl.']
Then the overly self-aware Arvette explained the situation.
Currently, Theresa remained missing—something Hokuto had already reminded everyone about.
She also brought up Rosalia and Lilia.
Everyone knew they were "dreaming away" inside the Stigmata Project.
But… hadn't anyone wondered why, out of everyone at the base, only the twins disappeared?
"At Salt Lake Base, besides Seele, Rosalia and Lilia also went missing. From surveillance footage, they snuck out ten minutes before the spatial anomaly hit."
"Based on AI lip-reading analysis, they were trying to sneak out to buy cake at a convenience store."
[Is that what artificial intelligence is for?!]
[That's not the point! The twins got taken by the Project because of that… sudden, but considering who they are, makes perfect sense.]
[No wonder they kept dreaming about cake. (]
[Tch, if the twins get rescued later, they're in for a triple beatdown (Duck, Seele, Black Seele).]
…
"You idiots!"
As expected—
Black Seele instantly erupted in anger.
Super angry.jpg
"Seele, don't lose your composure."
"..."
"Tch…"
Bronya's words calmed Black Seele down—though she still looked furious.
That obedient?
[Black Seele, what happened to your fierce energy? You cursed the Herrscher of Sentience as trash with way more bite!]
[Both Seele are equally obedient.]
[Duck > Seele > Black Seele (makes sense).]
While the players joked, the story continued.
With comms restored, Bronya immediately decided to organize a three-way meeting between Schicksal, Anti-Entropy, and Abyss City.
Tesla chaired the meeting.
But before starting, Tesla asked one question:
"I can understand why Kiana and the others are in Abyss City, but can someone from Schicksal explain—why is Suzannah there?"
Enter Elizabeth McSmith.
As Tesla's fangirl, she proudly reported:
"Report, Tesla-senpai! Suzannah was launched there by me using Chimeric Ascension!"
Quite proud of herself.
[???] N
"That launch—do you mean that launch?"
"Exactly what you're thinking."
"Ah… then Suzannah's had it rough…" Elysia sighed.
"Really?" Hokuto, however, disagreed. "Actually, Suzannah should be enjoying it."
"Enjoying it? Would she really?" Elysia asked.
"Of course. Suzannah very much wants to be an outstanding Valkyrie. Otherwise, she'd have no choice but to go back and inherit her family's gemstone mines."
Hokuto paused, then, with mock regret, added:
"To avoid waking each morning in a 500-square-meter bed, taking a private maglev line 50 kilometers to the living room, sitting on sofas stuffed with pure goose down, turning on a 300-inch laser TV, and eating foie gras and caviar air-shipped fresh from France… Suzannah is giving her all~~"
Elysia: "..."
Honestly, she had nothing to say to that.
…
Anyway.
Although Suzannah had been drafted by Elizabeth and randomly launched by Chimeric Ascension, she had indeed played her part—facilitating communication between the combat team and the research team.
Once Suzannah's situation was clarified, and it was confirmed everything was part of the plan, Tesla formally began chairing the meeting.
Thanks to the Stigmata Project's massive void-space invasion, Abyss City—already influenced by the Quantum Sea—had ironically become a relatively stable rear base.
But that also meant it wasn't suitable as a frontline, being too far.
By contrast, Kiana sensed something about St. Freya Academy through her Herrscher of the Void powers, making it a better candidate.
Because—
"No matter which direction I focus my Herrscher power on the void space, this vague connection to St. Freya is always present in the background."
This had already been mentioned earlier.
Tesla and the others reasoned: St. Freya was likely one of the first areas impacted by the Stigmata Project.
Like cosmic background radiation.
Hmm…
Or more simply:
Like drawing a picture on a light bulb—wherever the light shines, the picture's Signetappears.
Thus, St. Freya was probably near the "light source."
[Nice metaphor.]
With this confirmed, the next steps were clear.
Step one: Use the Eye of Abyss and enhanced comms to reach Durandal and Li Sushang, who were on their way back to Earth.
Step two: After rendezvous, with the aid of Sumeru Particle's abilities, use Herrscher of the Void powers to mark all dimensional fragments of St. Freya.
Step three: Use void restructuring techniques to consolidate the fragments into a stable beacon.
Step four: Finally, deploy combat forces via that beacon and launch a counterattack.
With the four-step plan set, the meeting ended.
The game cut forward—42 hours later.
Kiana stood on a high point, stretching with a big yawn.
"Ahhh… that was such a good sleep."
[Bruh, Bugbug just slept 42 hours straight??]
Players all reacted the same.
Of course, even as a Herrscher, Kiana couldn't literally sleep 42 hours. She had just woken late, and the others had quietly let her rest.
[Everyone really dotes on Kiana.]
[But if she did sleep 42 hours, hunger would wake her up first (lol).]
Among those who let her sleep were not only the Abyss City crew, but also…
"Kiana."
A familiar voice behind her.
Her expression instantly changed as she turned around.
And saw—
"Durandal?"
Durandal had arrived in Abyss City just hours earlier.
"You've returned?"
"Yes, thanks to everyone, we had no trouble with navigation."
"…You haven't rested for two days straight? Are you alright?" Kiana asked, concerned.
Durandal smiled.
"No problem. Schicksal has plenty of tech to support Valkyries in all-night combat."
[Durandal: I am very grindy—aka "foie gras."]
[?]
[Durandal: Two nights without sleep? Child's play.]
[Krishna: I think I'm the one who needs rest here.]
As the "Super Durandal Person" who swept the globe of Honkai at age 15 in a month-long campaign, just two days without rest was nothing.
Since she insisted she was fine, and since the plan's second step needed Sumeru Particle's help anyway, Kiana didn't press further.
Thus, after their smooth reunion, Kiana and her friends began the plan to reclaim St. Freya.
And for another Valkyrie, one with deep ties to the academy—
Players: Who?
…After nearly three days unconscious, her journey was just beginning.
[Wait—that description, could it be…]
[Theresa!!?]
They guessed right.
The "Auntie," unconscious for who knew how long (just three days!), had finally woken.
"Where… is this?"
As her consciousness cleared, Schicksal's new Overseer sensed her surroundings.
Quiet, yet strangely full.
The air—if it could be called that—was thick with a sweet yet dangerous taste… like nitroglycerin lingering on the tongue.
"..."
Frowning deeply, she tried to call upon Vishnu's power within her, hoping what she saw was a dream she could devour.
But nothing happened.
"What is this place…?"
Her frown only deepened.
And just then—
"Long time no see, little shorty."
A familiar man appeared behind her.
[It's him!!!]
[Yeah, no way—it's him?!]
[What the hell, why him!?]
[...?]
