Kingston concluded with serious eyes, "So what I am trying to say is that... let the engagement between Spencer and my daughter come to an end now. Even though you don't agree with it, to me, the engagement has officially been canceled".
Kingston's words caused the husband and wife, Mr Zane and Mrs Zuri, to look at each other in disbelief.

Hearing Kingston's words about breaking off the engagement, and realizing that Piper wasn't going to be her daughter in law anymore, not only broke her heart but shattered it into pieces. She loved Piper. She was fond of her and thought of her as her own child. She has always wanted to have a daughter of her own.
