The shinobi inside Konoha were almost all trembling, chills running down their spines, their bodies shaking uncontrollably.
Some were even unable to remain standing under the sheer weight of that massive chakra.
Unlike the Tailed Beasts, the oppressive aura emanating from a Complete Susanoo was far greater. It wasn't just the comparable amount of chakra, more importantly, the Complete Susanoo's chakra was fully solidified, representing the pinnacle of chakra control.
What a terrifying force.
Chakra solidification was something only achievable at the second stage of the Hatake sword technique, meaning one needed to be at least a Jōnin-level shinobi to manage such control.
Yet here, Obito forcibly solidified an amount of chakra as immense as that of a Tailed Beast. The overwhelming pressure was like the difference between heaven and earth.
"Don't give up, Hokage-sama!"
Might Duy looked up at the towering Complete Susanoo.
In the state of the Eight Gates formation, the oppressive force felt much weaker to him, and he could sense the terrifying power filling his own body.
Whoosh!
In the next instant, Might Duy leapt again, landing right in front of Obito. Clenching his right fist, he aimed a devastating strike straight at the Susanoo's head.
He intended to crush the enemy's power with this last blow!
But,
Obito no longer stood idly by.
With cold detachment, his Mangekyō Sharingan suddenly flared, releasing a surge of ocular power as a black vortex materialized before him.
Boom!!!
The powerful air blast from Might Duy's strike was swallowed entirely by the vortex, failing to land on the true form of the Complete Susanoo.
"How is this possible…"
Might Duy's heart chilled as he witnessed this.
The Eight Gates formation was his last reservoir of strength; he could suppress even the Nine-Tails, but against Obito's space-time ninjutsu, he was utterly powerless.
If this were just the Complete Susanoo alone, he might have had some confidence to break through it, but his power couldn't distort space or compete against Kamui.
Might Duy fell from the air.
That had been his final strike. He felt his power rapidly fading, the chakra fire burning in his chest growing faint.
"Am I still unable to protect Konoha…"
The thought flashed through his mind.
Whoosh!
Jiraiya rushed over and caught his falling form, then turned to face Obito.
Obito's gaze was cold as he wielded the fully formed Susanoo, drawing a glowing blue greatsword. Under the horrified eyes of Jiraiya and Sarutobi Hiruzen, he swung it down with devastating force.
Boom!!!
The sheer power of that strike was like the heavens collapsing and the earth splitting.
The shockwave alone battered Konoha's outer walls, cracking them deeply until chunks collapsed.
Jiraiya and Sarutobi were swept up by the residual force like tiny boats in a raging sea, tossed about uncontrollably and unable to maintain their stance.
Shing!
The blade sliced through the earth, extending all the way to the distant mountains, neatly cleaving the peaks of two mountains apart.
"The peaks…"
Jiraiya and Sarutobi, barely standing after the shock, looked at the flying mountain chunks in disbelief.
Those mountains were tens of miles away, and with a single strike, their peaks were severed cleanly in half.
What an unfathomable power!
"Did the First Hokage really face an enemy like this?"
Jiraiya's voice trembled. Though he hadn't lived in that era, he struggled to believe Madara Uchiha could have been this strong. If the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, could suppress such power, how unbelievably strong must he have been?
Watching that complete Susanoo strike, even Jiraiya felt a chasm-like gap, an overwhelming despair heavier than the crushing pressure he once faced from Hanzō of the Salamander during the Second Great Ninja War.
Space-time ninjutsu…
The very technique that blocked Might Duy's attack, nullifying all strikes.
And the Complete Susanoo's power was beyond even an S-rank jutsu. Had that blade fallen directly on Konoha, the entire village would have been obliterated.
Both offense and defense had reached such an extreme.
How could they possibly fight such an enemy?
Like Jiraiya, Sarutobi's body also stiffened; he had no idea how to counter this foe.
Sarutobi thought of Kaede, who should still be in Konoha… but then realized even Kaede's speed might be useless here, there was no opening in the enemy's defense, and a single strike could destroy the entire village.
Moreover,
The enemy wielded space ninjutsu.
"Already desperate?"
Obito cast a glance at Jiraiya and Sarutobi. Seeing their pale faces and lack of further attacks, as if their fighting spirit had vanished, he spoke coldly.
He looked toward the mountains in the distance, sensing the Nine-Tails' chakra being sealed, then sneered as he gazed down at Konoha.
"Planning to seal the Nine-Tails again? If that's the case, you won't be able to protect Konoha here."
As he spoke, he controlled the Complete Susanoo to raise the blue greatsword high above Konoha.
Those who had witnessed the power of his previous slash knew too well what would follow.
The entire village would be wiped out!

In a mountain range far from Konoha, the Nine-Tails' chakra had completely vanished. One person knelt weakly, while another stood before Namikaze Minato.
The kneeling figure was Minato.
Minato felt his soul being ripped away by the Shinigami summoned through the Reaper Death Seal. With great effort, he glanced toward the massive Complete Susanoo looming over Konoha.
"The rest is up to you…"
Minato spoke with difficulty.
The figure before him nodded slightly. The Nine-Tails' chakra surged forth from him, silver and gold flashes intertwining before he vanished in an instant.
Watching the figure disappear, Minato gave a bitter smile.
He had hoped to protect the village.
But the truth was, when Konoha faced a crisis, he still couldn't protect it. He couldn't even seal the Nine-Tails because his body couldn't withstand the beast's immense chakra. He could only sacrifice himself along with the Nine-Tails.
And after sensing the dire situation in Konoha, he realized that even dying with the Nine-Tails wouldn't stop the village's destruction.
Fortunately,
At the very last moment, there remained a final chance, a final hope.
"I entrust the power of the Nine-Tails to you. You must win, protect the village…"
"Kaede."
With those faint final words, Minato collapsed to the ground, his consciousness slipping into darkness.
