Chapter 6 - what if Bell was the abandoned son of hepheastus's

BACKGROUND & ORIGIN

Bell was the unacknowledged son of Hephaestus, born in secret, and hidden due to what the goddess perceived as a shameful flaw: he had no apparent talent for divine smithing. No Flame Control. No magical intuition for metals. Just wide red eyes full of curiosity. She discarded him coldly.

But Hephaestus was wrong.

Bell's talent wasn't for divine smithing—it was for eldritch creation. His mastery involved fusing monster parts, his own blood, and rare metals, forging gear that pulsed with life, magic, and alien hunger. Abandoned and shunned, Bell turned inward, mutilating himself over the years to replace parts of his body with his own nightmarish creations. Each time he was told he wasn't good enough, he tore a piece of himself away and made it better.

Freya found him before he destroyed himself completely.

FREYA & BELL: A MOTHER IN ALL BUT BLOOD

Freya, unlike Hephaestus, saw Bell's true potential—not just as a craftsman, but as a wounded soul. She didn't see a weapon. She saw a child brutalized by neglect, slowly rebuilding himself into something monstrous and magnificent just to feel useful.

She adopts Bell into her Familia. He's the only one she shows consistent tenderness to.

She has her strongest members—Ottarl, Hedin, and others—watch over Bell constantly, not out of fear, but to stop him from mutilating himself further.

When he does harm himself, it shatters Freya emotionally. But she never scolds—only cries in silence.

BELL'S BODY & FORGING ABILITY

Left arm: A monster-wrought limb made from tempered adamantite and a Lizardman's nerves, capable of moving faster than the eye.

Right eye: A crystal forged from a Lamia's mana core, it allows him to see magic flows.

Back: Laced with runic spines from Reaper vines; they pulse when danger is near.

His blood is an ingredient in many weapons, making them nearly indestructible.

He can forge sentient weapons and armor—not in the traditional sense, but in the way his creations whisper and watch.

He never forges for money or praise. He forges to be useful and needed.

---

HIS CREATIONS

Weapons: Spiked whips made from Minotaur tendons and black steel; a living spear that breathes through gills; curved blades that paralyze with venom-coated bone edges.

Armor: Helmets that scream when struck; chestplates that crawl back together when damaged.

Magic Swords: Fueled by Bell's blood. They never break, can use spells multiple times, and often react to the wielder's fear or rage.

He creates personal gifts for Freya Familia members—gloves, amulets, boots—that bond with them.

---

BELL'S PERSONALITY

Cold, quiet, and meticulous.

Avoids direct eye contact.

Kind, in his own way, but struggles with expressing emotion.

His hatred for Hephaestus and her Familia is eternal and poisonous.

All he ever wanted was to be accepted—and Freya gave him that.

REACTIONS FROM EVERY CHARACTER THAT MATTERS

FREYA FAMILIA

Freya: Deeply maternal. She loves him truly, and it hurts her profoundly every time he injures himself. She wants to heal him emotionally, not just protect him.

Ottarl: Respects Bell's strength but watches him closely. Thinks Bell might one day become even more dangerous than him—but chooses loyalty to Freya over fear.

Hedin & Hogni: Disturbed by Bell's creations. Hedin keeps his distance. Hogni sees Bell as a misunderstood genius.

Allen Fromel: Jealous and confused. Hates that Freya gives Bell more attention but fears Bell too much to act on it.

HEPHAESTUS FAMILIA

Hephaestus: When she learns who Bell is, she's shaken but never apologizes. Her pride won't allow it. She calls his work "perversions" of craftsmanship.

Welf Crozzo: Furious with Hephaestus for how she treated Bell. Deeply conflicted. Tries to approach Bell as a fellow smith, but is rejected.

Tsubaki: Shocked by the grotesque brilliance of Bell's weapons. Secretly admires the beauty in his twisted work but remains loyal to Hephaestus.

HESTIA FAMILIA

Hestia: Heartbroken when she learns what Bell went through. Wants to reach out but is too frightened of his hatred toward gods.

Liliruca: Feels pity and horror. Wonders how much pain someone has to endure to become like that.

Welf: Again, very emotionally torn—sees Bell as a reflection of what he might've become under different circumstances.

LOKI FAMILIA

Loki: Keeps her distance. Jokes about "the cursed boy," but her sharp eyes never stop watching him.

Ais Wallenstein: Fascinated and unnerved. His silence and glowing eye remind her of monsters—but his sadness keeps her from hating him.

Finn: Aware of how dangerous Bell could become. Keeps diplomatic distance.

Riveria: Intrigued by his ability to make magical weapons so efficiently, but disapproves of the self-harm and the methods.

Bete: Calls Bell a freak. Would never say it to his face.

GODS OF ORARIO

Ouranos: Watches closely. Sees Bell as a potential threat—or solution.

Ganesha: Uncomfortable. Calls his creations "unholy."

Ishtar (if alive): Would've tried to seduce or manipulate Bell. Would fail—Bell sees through manipulation instantly.

Demeter: Cries upon hearing his story. Sends him food as gifts without explanation.

MONSTERS (XENO)

The Xenos feel a kinship with Bell. His weapons sing to them.

Some view him as a redeemer, others as a predator.

FINAL NOTES

Bell doesn't want revenge on the world—only on those who abandoned him.

He is not evil. He is a boy trying to find worth in the only way he knows: creation through pain.

Despite his trauma, he makes weapons for friends and family because "I don't know how to show love any other way."

Freya is his anchor. Without her, he would lose himself completely.
