Tentacles lashed fiercely against the spatial gate, as though determined to shatter it into pieces, to erase it entirely. Unfortunately for them, even if the gate was destroyed, it had no effect on Yi Tianxing. Once he had stepped through, the transmission had already begun. Empowered by the Heavenly Emperor Tower of Hongmeng and infused with Hongmeng Purple Qi, the spatial gate had become even more mystical.
Many taboos seemed to have lost their effect.
Once inside, even if the gate were obliterated externally, it would only destroy a projection—nothing more than an illusion. Its destruction meant nothing. The transmission could not be interrupted, not even in this forbidden life zone. There was simply no way to stop it.
"The Demon Lord will never let you go!"
A piercing shriek echoed through the Abyss.
A gigantic octopus-like creature emerged from the sea, its eyes deep black, like spinning vortexes devouring all surrounding light. Countless demonic souls shimmered across its body.
"I'll be waiting," Yi Tianxing said calmly.
He had seen it for himself—the demon city within the Sea of Sin, and even the demonic fetus at its core. He understood all too well how terrifying the power hidden in this forbidden zone truly was. Even a single demonic corpse escaping would unleash havoc upon the world. And there were countless of them—an unimaginably vast number.
Flash!
A burst of light appeared, and a spatial gate opened atop a mountain not far from the Abyss of Death. Yi Tianxing stepped out naturally from within.
Boom!
With a wave of his hand, he summoned a white jade crystal coffin, which thudded onto the ground.
Within the crystal coffin, a peach-colored mist gently swirled, accompanied by faint breathing sounds.
Seeing this, Yi Tianxing couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.
He knocked lightly on the crystal coffin.
Bang!
The lid flew off instantly, and a completely naked Liu Feng burst forth, pale-faced. The towering and robust man now trembled as he landed on his feet, legs shaking uncontrollably.
"That was close, way too close. She almost drained me dry! That female demon... she's terrifying!"
Liu Feng hastily dressed himself in his beast-hide cloak, his face full of lingering fear. Still, beneath that fear lingered a trace of reluctant nostalgia.
"Daoist Liu, I think you could go another round. Maybe you'll even manage to tame that demoness," Yi Tianxing said with a grin. In his view, the female corpse within the coffin wasn't a big deal. Even as a different kind of being, she was still a form of life.
As far as men were concerned, unless you died in the act, it wasn't a loss—it could even be a unique form of pleasure.
"No way. If I try again, I really will die in her arms…" Liu Feng shuddered. "But have we made it out of the Abyss?"
He glanced around and quickly realized they were no longer in the Death Abyss. The sense of relief in his heart was palpable. Truthfully, this expedition had broadened his horizons but also left a deep and terrifying impression on him.
"What do you plan to do with that female corpse?"
Liu Feng looked at the white jade crystal coffin, a complicated expression on his face. He wasn't stupid—if the coffin had been brought out of the Abyss, then Yi Tianxing clearly had enough power to subdue and suppress whatever was inside. Yet the thought of her possibly being destroyed stirred an inexplicable emotion within him.
Yi Tianxing didn't respond directly. Instead, he gave Liu Feng a meaningful look, then waved his hand to stow the coffin away.
"Let's leave this place first, Daoist Liu. Come with me."
"Of course!"
Liu Feng agreed without hesitation.
After such a massive upheaval in the Death Abyss, there was no telling what else might crawl out from that forbidden zone. Staying was too dangerous. Having someone like Yi Tianxing around—a major powerhouse—was an opportunity he couldn't afford to miss. Especially since he had other things weighing on his heart.
Moments later, a new spatial gate appeared, and both stepped into it, vanishing completely from the abyssal edge.
Before long, they arrived over ten thousand miles away, in a secluded, uninhabited mountain valley.
Yi Tianxing, after confirming there were no others around, waved his hand and brought out not only the white jade crystal coffin but also several Heavenly Coffins.
"Huh? Why is that girl placed in one of those coffins?"
Liu Feng instantly recognized Gongsun Da Niang, encased in one of the coffins. He had a deep impression of her—her unique charm was hard to forget.
But clearly, something was wrong. She seemed alive but was in an unusual slumber. Even her heartbeat had slowed to a strange rhythm.
"What happened to her?" he asked.
"She was struck by a demonic technique that induced a deep slumber—not just of the body, but even of the soul. There's no ordinary way to wake her up," Yi Tianxing replied.
He hadn't even opened the coffin; the issue was obvious from the outside.
The Heavenly Coffin was remarkable. Even outside the Death Abyss, it could still absorb heavenly energies, letting the sleeper naturally operate their cultivation techniques, gradually build up their strength, and deepen their understanding of the Heavenly Dao—all while unconscious. It ensured progress in cultivation despite the slumber.
In such a state, any rash move could be dangerous.
"What now? I can't break this kind of sorcery," Liu Feng sighed.
If it were chopping down a tree, he wouldn't hesitate. But reviving someone in a state of eternal sleep—even killing her might not work. Death had no impact.
"Hehe… I didn't expect a human cultivator like you to sneak into the Demon City, infiltrate the Demon Consort's Palace, and steal not one, but three of the Demon Consorts. Your audacity is astonishing."
Suddenly, a mocking voice rang from the white jade coffin.
Crack!
With a crisp sound, the coffin lid opened naturally. A stunning woman slowly rose from within. This time, she was no longer naked. At some point, she had donned a snow-white palace gown. Though it looked sacred, on her, it carried an unmistakable seductiveness. Her cheeks were radiant, blooming like peach blossoms, and her beauty was breathtaking.
"Liu Feng~, I am Bai Ruxue. My lord, why do you keep your distance? Have I done something wrong? I am willing to change~."
She gazed at Liu Feng with deep grievance, like a heartbroken lover. Every movement tugged at the heart.
"Bai Ruxue?" Yi Tianxing showed a strange expression. That name… really fit her in a twisted way.
"You did nothing wrong. It's me, I was wrong," Liu Feng muttered, his face pale as his knees shook again.
"Miss Bai, would you mind telling me more about the Demon City beneath the Abyss? The demonic corpses, the Death God Skeleton, the demonic fetus within the Demon Emperor's Palace, and whose consort you actually are?" Yi Tianxing's voice turned cold, a formless pressure bearing down on her.
This was precisely why he had brought her out—to pry secrets from her. The threat from the Demonic City was simply too great.
"You think I'll tell you?" she smiled, casting him a sidelong glance.
"You have every reason not to. But the price will be your life. You will die," Yi Tianxing replied calmly. "You should know—if I can extract you from the heart of the Demon City, from the Demon Consort's Palace, then killing you outside the Sea of Sin is no challenge."
"Besides, weren't you confident I'd die in that city? Why not share its secrets and showcase its strength?"
"I'm just a lowly maidservant in the Demon City," Bai Ruxue chuckled. "What could I possibly know? But sure, I can tell you some things. You'll come to understand the despair of offending the Demon Lord."
She didn't seem to mind revealing a few secrets.
"Very well. I'm all ears," Yi Tianxing said.
"I don't know the true origin of the Demon City. From the moment I gained awareness, I was already in it—part of the Nine Jade Maidens of the Jade Maiden Palace. From the beginning, we instinctively knew one thing: the Demon Lord is our supreme master, whom we must never betray."
"And what is the Demon Lord's name?" Yi Tianxing asked.
"We only call him the Demon Lord. We dare not inquire any further," she replied.
