"Why do you think Daniel agreed?" Emma asked, swirling the straw of her hazelnut chocolate milk tea. She found herself lost in thoughts, unable to understand Daniel's current train of thoughts.
After much pleading, her friend was given a half day off, and Ellie decided to spend the time visiting a new trendy cafe that opened up. Placing her phone down, Ellie pointed out, "Could it be that he realized it's about time to rub favor off of you? Anyways, he is benefitting."
Emma stared at her friend blankly. "Be serious."
Although Daniel had always been a gentleman, it was only much later that his edges smoothened out and he treated Emma with patience. During this period of time in her previous life, he was still very hostile to her. Despite being concise in his words, Emma could see it in his eyes.
