Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Thirty Consecutive Draws, Explosive Luck

"System, I want to draw a lottery!"

After ending the call with Li Zhenhua, Renjiro took a deep breath and opened the lottery interface of his system. His heart raced with anticipation.

At that moment, he had a total of 3330 combat points. About 330 of these had been earned from defeating the four Pokémon hunters earlier. His original plan was to hoard these points—his goal was to save up enough to exchange them for Porygon's production technology, a valuable tool for his future plans.

But standing there, with the warm breeze brushing past him and his heart still pounding from the battle's excitement, Renjiro felt something different. His intuition told him that today was special.

Today, luck is on my side.

Not only had he captured Persian, Nidoking, and Nidoqueen, but he'd also gained Charmeleon and Honchkrow. His harvest was truly bountiful.

The urge was irresistible.

"I'll try my luck. Let's see what I can get!" he whispered, his eyes gleaming.

The virtual interface appeared before him, full of dazzling lights and high-tech energy. A giant wheel, its sections labeled with prizes ranging from mundane items to rare treasures, waited for his command.

"Ten consecutive draws to start!"

> Ding! 100 combat points deducted. Current combat points: 3230.

The wheel spun rapidly, lights flashing in mesmerizing patterns.

> Ding! You drew The Secret of the Earth!

Ding! You drew Yellow Chicken Mask.

Ding! You drew Super Potion.

Dozens of system notifications echoed in Renjiro's mind.

His eyes widened when he heard the first prize.

"Damn! The Secret of the Earth! I actually drew it!"

He immediately opened his system backpack and retrieved a book with a dark green cover titled The Secret of the Earth. His hands trembled slightly as he flipped it open, eager to confirm its contents.

As he read, his excitement grew. The pages were filled with Giovanni's lifetime of wisdom and research on Ground-type Pokémon. This was the ultimate manual—every technique, insight, and strategy Giovanni had mastered as the king of Ground-types was recorded within.

This… this is priceless. If any Ground-type trainer saw this, they'd lose their mind trying to get it.

Renjiro grinned, already imagining Nidoking and Nidoqueen benefiting from this treasure trove.

"I'm on a roll. Let's go again!" he said.

> Ding! 100 combat points deducted. Current combat points: 3130.

The wheel spun once more, filling the air with tension and excitement.

> Ding! You drew Universal Potion.

Ding! You drew Poké Ball.

Ding! You drew Dusk Ball (Darkened).

Ding! You drew Hyper Beam Training Manual.

Ding! You drew Skill Disc: Freezing Ray.

Renjiro couldn't believe his ears.

"I'm rich today! I can't believe my luck!" he laughed, exhilarated.

Last time, he'd spent over 100 draws and had only gotten the production blueprint for an Ultra Ball. But in just twenty draws today, he had already obtained incredible items.

Without delay, he pulled out the newly acquired items and inspected them.

Among the haul, three caught his immediate attention:

Hyper Beam Training Manual

Dusk Ball (Darkened)

Skill Disc: Freezing Ray

Renjiro opened the Hyper Beam Training Manual first.

Inside, it contained detailed techniques on mastering Hyper Beam—how to maximize its power, how to avoid the usual recharge lag, and even advanced strategies like making the beam curve mid-flight. This was the very same technique that the famous trainer Lance used to dominate battles.

With this book, Nidoking and Nidoqueen could become mobile artillery, capable of precision strikes with overwhelming force.

"Hyper Beam that doesn't miss and can even turn? With this, Nidoking and Nidoqueen can surpass Beedrill as my front-line powerhouses."

Next, he studied the Dusk Ball (Darkened). Unlike the standard Dusk Balls used in caves, this one was different—it was designed to corrupt. Any Pokémon captured by this ball would be transformed, turned ferocious and their power pushed to the limits.

But Renjiro frowned.

The price of such power was steep. Pokémon caught in this ball became mindless, soulless tools. And if the Pokémon had a strong enough will, the Dusk Ball's control could fail or even be shattered.

"This could be a double-edged sword… Best to keep it for emergencies."

Lastly, Renjiro inspected the Skill Disc: Freezing Ray.

Perfect. His Milotic had lacked an Ice-type move, leaving it vulnerable against Grass-types. Now, with this disc, Milotic could cover that weakness.

"Alright, one more round!"

> Ding! 100 combat points deducted. Current combat points: 3030.

The wheel spun for a third time, but this time the results were lackluster.

Potions.

Standard Poké Balls.

Even broken stones that served no purpose.

Renjiro sighed and raised a hand.

"That's enough. Time to quit while I'm ahead."

He'd already gotten more than he'd hoped for—The Secret of the Earth, the Hyper Beam Manual, and the Freezing Ray Disc. To push his luck further would be folly.

With renewed energy, Renjiro pulled out his Poké Balls.

"Come out, Milotic, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Persian!"

His loyal Pokémon appeared in brilliant flashes of light.

"Milotic, this is for you."

He handed the Freezing Ray Disc to Milotic.

"I want you to master this move. With it, no Grass-type will stand a chance."

"Meina!" (I won't let you down!) Milotic responded, her eyes shining with determination.

Renjiro turned to Nidoking and Nidoqueen, their powerful bodies still showing signs of injury.

"You two—rest today. Starting tomorrow, I'll guide you through the techniques in these books. Soon, you'll both master Hyper Beam and become forces no one can match."

"RAWR!"

"NIDOO!"

Both Pokémon nodded together, their fighting spirit reignited.

Finally, Renjiro glanced at Persian.

"And you… just enjoy your life as our mascot."

Persian yawned lazily, stretched, and curled up beside Renjiro, perfectly content.

Before Renjiro could relax, two eager cries rang out.

"Char!"

"Hooooonk!"

Charmeleon and Honchkrow looked at him anxiously, eager for their turn.

Renjiro chuckled.

"Don't worry. I haven't forgotten you. I promised to make you stronger, and I will."

Their eyes lit up, proud to be part of Renjiro's growing family.

As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, Renjiro looked at his team, at the powerful tools he'd gained, and at the path ahead.

Today, fortune had smiled on him. But the real work—the training, the growth, the battles—was only just beginning.
