Chapter 115 - Chapter 114 - Vivat Nox

"This place is perfect," Blanc replied as he checked their surroundings.

The resting place they found was in front of a large boulder, which stood alone near a creek that carved its way through the ground.

This small creek was what separated the grasslands from a normal plain.

And since the sun was soon to set, they did not really have better choices than this one.

"Let's set the tents then," Blanc added as soon as he saw the others agreeing with him.

And in less than twenty minutes, the tents which stood opposite to each other, but no less than twenty feet apart, were up.

"It's my turn now," Celine said, giggling, as she pulled two wooden boxes from her bag.

As she opened them, one marble stood in the middle of each box, surrounded by purple velvet.

She took one of the boxes and went into the smaller tent that was set up for Kael and Lune, and the rest, out of curiosity, followed her to witness how the artifact worked.

"Ready?" Celine asked the four as she took the marble in her palm.

And when all four nodded without saying a word, as they were completely focused on the artifact, Celine giggled and turned towards the inside of the tent.

"Vivat nox," she whispered to the marble.

Nothing was happening for a few moments, but it soon jolted once.

"Vivat nox," she whispered again.

This time, it jolted as she spoke.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

It stopped.

"Vivat nox," she said out loud as she placed the marble on the ground and let it roll inside the tent.

With a small crack as if a twig had snapped under one's feet, the marble opened, and out jumped the miniature bed inside it.

While it was airborne, from a bed no larger than half an inch across, it got larger and larger until, by the time it hit the ground, it was a six-foot bed large enough for two adults to sleep in.

The bed had everything.

Sheets, covers, pillows, and even a comfortable mattress below.

"A bed!" Lune yelled as she began rolling on the mattress, "You were right, sister Celine!"

Celine, hearing Lune's reply, had a smug smile on her face as she was beaming with pride.

If one saw her smug look, they might think that she herself made this artifact.

"Fascinating," Kael and Blanc muttered in unison.

And even though Miyanna saw the artifact in action when they bought it, it was a sight her eyes had never laid eyes upon before she met them.

So, it was expected that she took this sight in with the wonder of a child.

"To the next one," Celine replied as she passed the four watching, going towards the second box.

After the second artifact was activated as well, all got to eat dinner, go to the toilet, which this time was between the large grass on the other side of the creek, and go to sleep.

At least Kael and Lune, that is.

Blanc, Celine, and Miyanna were in their tent, still talking while they lay on their new large bed of theirs.

The bed was comfortable enough for the three and had all the space one might need during sleep.

"What a day this was," Miyanna sighed as she dragged her finger across Blanc's wound on his cheek.

"You don't have to tell me," Blanc sighed, "I feel tired enough to sleep for a week."

"It's to be expected," Celine replied, "You barely slept."

"And whose fault is that?" Blanc chuckled.

"Hubby, don't fucking talk as if you were not the one who did the most," Miyanna said, getting up and grabbing a waterskin next to them.

"Now, now," he said, "Let's not throw the blame around."

"There is one thing I'm curious about," Celine added.

"What is it?" Blanc wondered.

"That Allegra looked at you too intensely, and your eyes watched her too." Celine turned towards the two, sitting on her elbow, a wide grin on her face.

"Ah!" Miyanna remembered something, "I saw that too. Tell me you are not-"

"Whoa, whoa, calm down," Blanc replied, getting defensive, "Have you two ignored the part when I threatened to kill her?"

"How did that work for Miyanna?" Celine asked as she grabbed his arm under the covers.

"Hubby…" Miyanna muttered, her eyes getting dangerous.

"Baseless accusations," Blanc replied, trying to get up, but the hands of his two wives blocked his path and didn't yield.

As one would say, he was caught between a wall and a hard place.

But this wall on his left was soft and gentle, while the hard place on the right was strong, shy, and still… yes, soft.

"Dear wives?" Blanc asked, his voice barely a whisper.

"Dear husband, your wives are oh, so worried that you have found a replacement already, you need to comfort us before we misunderstand," Celine replied dramatically, as if she were indeed suffering.

"There is nothing for you to misunderstand, though. There are no such intentions in my mind," Blanc replied, defending himself.

"Are you that tired?" Miyanna asked, a sad look on her face.

"This…" Blanc sighed, seeing that Miyanna was catching the manipulation skills that Celine had and making them her own.

These women are scary, Blanc thought to himself, but still, he knew there was no way for him to win this fight.

And even though he was tired, his body was agreeing with them.

So he turned his head to the left, then slowly to the right as he watched his wives expectantly.

Miyanna brought the water, the bed was comfortable, and the air was suddenly being filled with a scent that slowly captivated Blanc's mind as he closed his eyes.

He did what he had to do during the day, and they gained profits out of it.

Now rewards were in order, for him and them.

A day as successful as this one, though tiring, was to be enjoyed until the end.

For who knows when such luck would find them again.

So, setting his mind and seeing that his body was ready, only two words were managed to be uttered by him before he let go of any reasoning.

"Vivat Nox," he screamed.

What was there to be done besides scream from the bottom of his soul, 'Long live the night'?

And with a laugh from the two women, they got to it until late in the night, when Blanc finally managed to get some proper sleep.
