It saddened Miyanna to see issues arising between Blanc and his younger brother because of her, but it would be a lie to say that she did not feel her heart almost ripping itself open when she saw how Blanc defended her.
It wasn't even decided if she was to be his wife, too.
It was just something she and Celine talked about.
Yet the roads clearly showed themselves as a possibility.
After all, they had done it last night too, sober this time.
And Blanc defending her was only a sign he wanted to take responsibility, after everything that had happened.
She did not mind it.
On the contrary, she was full of joy on the inside.
Yet, even she, as a commoner, knew better than to show her happiness during such a moment.
There will be enough time, at night, for that.
"You have disappointed me, Kael," sighed Lune.
"I'm sorry, Lune," Kael muttered, eyes to the ground as he spoke again, "What should I do now?"
"You will have to show Blanc you did not mean those words. That it was all a breakdown due to grief," explained Celine, "Now come, let's catch up with him."
With that, they began walking at a quick pace to catch up with Blanc, who continued walking as if running away from something.
"Kael, Lune," said Celine suddenly after a minute or two, "Run after him, tell him to wait for us."
Though Kael wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to do so, after what just happened, he had to agree when Lune grabbed him and started sprinting forward, leaving Miyanna and Celine behind.
"Do you want to talk about something?" Miyanna asked as she watched the twins run off.
"You snake," began Celine with a grin on her face, "You are basically skipping at this point."
"Hehe," laughed Miyanna after hearing her, "But it was hot, no? Defending me like that."
"A maiden in love, indeed," giggled Celine, "Still, I feel bad for Blanc. He keeps family close to his heart, and Kael's words…"
"Yeah, I feel bad, too, but… Celine?" asked Miyanna when she noticed that Celine was not next to her but had stopped a few feet behind.
"I am fine, don't-" Celine wanted to speak, but was unable to as she rushed near a high patch of grass and threw up behind it.
"Hey, are you really okay? Should I go get Blanc?" Miyanna asked, running next to her and removing her hair from her face as she threw up.
After throwing up one more time, Celine moved back, before speaking with a wry smile on her wet lips, "It's nothing bad, I just got confirmation I am still pregnant."
"I even forgot about that. Since you know… but I'm glad you're okay," said Miyanna, letting go of Celine.
"Do not worry, Miyanna, it will be a bit longer until you get to do it alone with Blanc. If I can still do it too, I will," Celine replied, after she drank some water to wash down the bitter taste.
"And you say I'm in love," giggled Miyanna.
"Let's go, or Blanc will worry," said Celine, hitting Miyanna's shoulder lightly as they began walking again.
Blanc was alone as he walked down a hill, thinking of Kael's earlier words.
His younger brother's words made him more angry than sad.
For it wasn't fair.
Kael was young, yes. So his words were more emotional than based on any type of logic, but still, he should know by now how to control his tongue.
Miyanna had no fault in this.
So he will have to apologize for Kael's words as well.
Still, why did it matter to Kael what and with whom he did things?
He put his hands on Miyanna, so there was no going back on this now.
He did not regret doing it.
On the contrary, he enjoyed everything about it.
He enjoyed how well Celine and Miyanna seemed to get along.
And how Miyanna was, now that he got to know her better, in more ways than one, and how she made him feel.
She was like a wolf on the outside. Beautiful yet ready to show its fangs if need be. Yet she was as shy as a sheep on the inside.
A woman who never knew these things or how to act around them.
And when she was cornered, in such a situation, all the wolf inside her melted as if all that was a facade, a wall she had built around her during all her time alone.
To him, it did not matter that she was a commoner.
At this point, they too were nothing more than that. A defeated Noble Blood family, with its Patriarch and heir, only Vita knows where.
They, too, were now akin to commoners, yet they were not acting like a commoner usually does.
Which meant Miyanna was now vital to the whole group. For they had to adapt to their new situation.
A situation they will be in for who knows how long.
Or at least that's what Blanc told himself not to admit to himself that he was slowly but surely falling in love with her, too.
A trap that he was sure in his mind that too was Celine's plan.
Ah… how weak the human heart is when it finds itself cornered.
But at least, now, that he thought of Celine and Miyanna, his anger subsided, just as a voice could be heard approaching.
"Brother!" yelled Lune as she ran down the hill with Kael behind her.
"Calm down, or you will fall," said Blanc, acknowledging the two. "Where are Celine and Miyanna?"
"They sent us to tell you to stop until they catch up," replied Lune as she came to a stop before him.
"I see, we wait here then," Blanc nodded, as he sat down on the grass and looked at the view before him.
The hill was a beautiful green, and before them stood an open plain with a small village to the west, a few miles away from them.
Gray smoke slowly rose from their chimneys, adding a bit more life to the otherwise green but lifeless plain.
In the distance, a mile or so after the village, stood several larger hills that were all green except for the tips of the hills, which were made of rocks.
Giving the hills the nickname of Denegis's Fingers.
A rude thing to say, since the hills in question were only four. However, seeing them, none could disagree that they, in fact, did not look like fingers.
"Brother," spoke Kael, interrupting Blanc's sightseeing.
"What is it, Kael?" he asked, as he watched the Fingers in the distance.
"Can we talk? I want to apologize properly," Kael said, sitting down on the grass next to him.
Blanc sighed, "Say what you have to say, Little Kael, I am not stopping you."
"I was and still am very sad after hearing what happened with our family, and seeing you act as if it did not matter, made me think you forgot about them once you not only forgave Miyanna but actually did more than forgive her…" Kael muttered, losing the trail of his words, not wanting to say anything vulgar.
"Would it have been better to just cry still in the cave? Or to go fight the Iron Line by myself? Would my death doing such a foolish thing make you feel like the rest of our family mattered in my eyes?" Blanc asked.
"Brother…" murmured Lune.
"That's not what I-" Kael began, but found himself interrupted by Blanc.
"I know you didn't mean that, but so what? What was I supposed to do? I cried when it was time to cry. Now I think over and over, and over, how to make our situation better and how our family can be reunited. But the only thing I can do for now is to get us to a safer place, from where we can focus on that," Blanc explained.
"I know, brother, I forgot all this in the last few days," replied Kael.
But Blanc was not finished explaining, "And remember, for most of my time knowing Miyanna, I wanted to kill her just to keep you two safe. I've heard her story, even though she was an enemy before, and I forgave her just as you did before me. Since then, things have happened. And now we are here."
"Do you like her?" asked Lune.
"I do, and I already did things that will not allow me to just discard her like an object. I am not that type of man. I will defend, love, and care for her. So even if you do not agree with it, that's how things stand," Blanc replied.
"I do not mind," replied Lune.
"N-Neither do I," said Kael, "Forgive me, Blanc. I acted foolishly."
"As long as you understand your mistake, all is forgiven," said Blanc, patting his head.
A few minutes after Kael finished his apologies, Celine and Miyanna joined the rest just as Blanc was explaining to the twins why the hills in the distance were called the Denegis's Fingers.
"It seems you managed to talk things through," said Celine.
"All thanks to you sending them forward, my love," Blanc replied, "Come, you two, rest as well. We walk some more after."
"Splendid idea," said Celine as she sat down on the grass near Blanc.
Kael and Lune moved to the side, making free the place on the other side of Blanc for Miyanna to join.
"Thanks," smiled Miyanna to the two, before sitting herself next to Blanc.
"You see these hills?" he asked Celine and Miyanna as he pointed towards the Fingers.
Celine nodded before she placed her head on his right shoulder, "I do, you were saying earlier to Kael and Lune that they were called… what was it?"
"Denegis's Fingers," Blanc replied.
Miyanna found herself doing the same thing as she tilted her head on his left shoulder and placed her hands between his left hand as she spoke, "Why is it that anywhere I go in this Domain, there are only weird names?"
Blanc chuckled, "This one has an explanation! So, you see…"
And with that, this break of theirs pretty quickly became a lesson none minded hearing it.
As the smile he had on his lips as he explained this little, unimportant thing to the four made them think that all would be all right after all.
