Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Tsukuyomi

"Hahaha—"

"A mount?"

"A mount?!"

"Do you even know what you're saying?!"

Garaga's blood-red maw opened as it let out a wicked laugh. Its massive serpentine body twisted, and its towering spine pierced through the underground base's ceiling.

Its laughter sounded like the howls of demons from hell.

Behind the corridor railing, the ears of those watching ached faintly as they grimaced in pain.

Uchiha Yu and Orochimaru were unfazed by the sonic attack—naturally, Tsunade, though drained, was still able to endure it.

"So tired…" Tsunade's eyes trembled slightly as she lay in Shizune's soft embrace. She gazed up at Yu's back, a flush of anger rising to her lovely features.

She had been hoping to watch this guy embarrass himself.

Who would've thought…

She'd be the one to fall into his hands.

When the laughter finally stopped,

Everyone gradually regained their composure.

"Mom… why did that blonde auntie suddenly get so weak? Is this the same 'kidney deficiency' that Auntie always talks about?"

Karin stood behind her mother, sneaking glances at the collapsed Tsunade and whispering her question.

Uzumaki Kana's eyelid twitched. Her face went pale as she crouched down in a panic and covered Karin's mouth.

"Kidney deficiency??"

Tsunade's eyes fluttered shut as she tried to speak and defend herself, but her body wouldn't cooperate.

Kana whispered, "Shhh… that's a private matter. You can't just say it out loud."

"Oh—"

Karin nodded slowly, not fully understanding but accepting the answer.

"I…"

Tsunade's body, weakened beyond resistance, gave in. She sighed, closed her eyes, and fell into a deep, sweet sleep.

Everyone's attention returned to the training ground.

HSSSSSS—

With a piercing screech, the ferocious serpent's head lunged downward like a massive boulder falling from a cliff, stopping inches from Uchiha Yu.

Nono and Kabuto wore grave expressions and instinctively stepped back. Kana clutched her daughter and retreated in panic toward the passageway's exit.

Clink—

Nono gritted her teeth and activated her Byakugan. She scanned the immense serpent Garaga in astonishment—within the towering "mountain" of its body flowed a constant stream of brilliant blue chakra through its dense network of chakra pathways.

Such vast chakra reserves!

Garaga stared directly at Yu.

Only a few meters separated them.

To Garaga, it felt like it had finally encountered, after a thousand years, someone truly worth laughing at.

Its single golden serpent eye gleamed with cruel intent, reflecting the image of the proud, unyielding human standing before it.

"You're the human who dares demand I become your mount? To be looked at by me is the highest honor you'll have before you die!"

As it spoke, Garaga leaned closer.

It blinked its serpent eye, tilting its massive head to size Yu up. Its gaze grew colder and more menacing.

"I've also never met someone who offered up their head just to stare at me. Fine—look all you want."

Yu calmly responded and closed his eyes. As he did, his Mangekyō Sharingan evolved from the Yasakani pattern into Amaterasu-Tsukuyomi Mangekyō.

His left eye snapped open.

And stared directly at Garaga.

"Genjutsu — Tsukuyomi!"

Yu's left eye trembled slightly. The overwhelming chakra he had absorbed from Tsunade transformed into Yin Release chakra and surged into Xinya's lone eye.

"Those eyes!!"

Garaga's remaining golden pupil shuddered violently as it jerked backward, recoiling its massive head.

Uchiha.

The serpent's once-dominant and menacing demeanor began to unravel.

Snakes already had poor vision, and with only one functioning eye, Garaga hadn't noticed anything odd about Yu's eyes until now.

But now—what it saw was terrifying.

Those eyes could control even Tailed Beasts.

"Bastard!!"

Garaga roared in anger to mask its fear. Its solitary eye now filled with dread as it writhed in panic—like a man seeing a ghost.

Tensing its massive form, it unleashed a monstrous, devastating force and tried to flee.

But in the instant it turned to run—

the world changed.

Tsukuyomi took hold.

ry exit in the underground training hall sealed shut as though the space had transformed into a cursed box.

WitWit Tsukuyomi's realm, everything—time, space, reality—was under the complete control of the caster.

Garaga was now trapped inside that dark box.

Enclosed.

Alone.

Powerless.

And for the first time in a thousand years…

Garaga felt fear.

Before the torment could fully etch itself into its soul—

The sealed black box shifted against the laws of physics, sliding laterally as thick mercury oozed from its right side.

The mercury flooded the interior of the box, completely submerging Garaga. Suffocation, searing cellular agony, and the sensation of venom ravaged the massive serpent's body.

A week of deathly immersion.

Then, like a retreating tide, the mercury drained away.

"..."

Garaga coughed up the remaining liquid metal, its golden slit pupil spinning with dizziness. Its colossal body collapsed heavily in the center of the box, shaking the very earth.

Suddenly—

The sound of crackling fire grew louder.

Black flames of Amaterasu ignited beneath the box, searing the crimson scales of Xinya's serpentine body.

"Hsssssss—"

The unbearable heat and pain spread across its body, forcing a shrill, anguished shriek as it writhed violently on the ground.

And the more it twisted, the stronger the flames burned.

Then came a thousand piercing swords, followed by cycles of freezing hell.

Torments alternated without pause for nearly a month.

In the real world—

Only a moment had passed.

Back in the dark underground training field and corridor, everyone stared at Garaga, now completely motionless.

Kabuto's face filled with fear. He turned to Nono for answers. She swallowed hard and spoke gravely:

"The chakra inside that snake is in complete disarray. Based on its internal chakra network, it's in excruciating pain."

Orochimaru glanced at the frozen Garaga, a chilling smile on his face.

He knew—it was over.

Uchiha Yu looked at the snake out of the corner of his eye. Once it was thoroughly broken in, he released Tsukuyomi.

BOOM—

Garaga's remaining golden eye shut tightly. Its tongue flicked weakly as its mountainous body slumped to the ground, motionless as death.

CLINK—

Yu's Mangekyō Sharingan shifted back to its original form. In a blur of motion, he appeared on top of Garaga's unconscious head.

With ease, he pried open the transparent membrane protecting its eye—and branded it with the Yasakani seal. .

Without resistance.

He gained full spiritual control.

Using Tsukuyomi to crush both Xinya's body and soul served two purposes:

1. To burn the pain into its memory,

2. And to teach it its place.

Once a creature's mind and soul are shattered, its spirit becomes fragile—and much easier to mark with a seal.

Then—

Yu injected the chakra he'd extracted from Tsunade back into Garaga's weakened body.

He returned to the upper platform.

RUMBLE—

With a trickle of chakra restored, Garaga's head quivered and its eye slowly opened.

Before it could fully regain consciousness, a red glow ignited in its pupil—the symbol of the Yasakani mangekyo.

Its gigantic body rose upright.

Though wracked with pain, its lone golden eye locked onto Yu—filled with fury—but it could no longer speak a word.

"This gift is quite good," Yu said, glancing at Orochimaru with a nod of approval.

"As long as you're satisfied, Yu-kun."

Orochimaru smiled faintly.

Then the air twisted. Yu's right hand shimmered as he pulled out a bundle of small scrolls and tossed them to Orochimaru.

"These contain defective sealed containers for the forbidden technique Fury. Try integrating them with Edo Tensei.

If it works, you can dispatch reanimated shinobi to Kirigakure."

Orochimaru's eyes lit up. He chuckled.

"No problem. Seems I'll be quite busy while you're away in the Mist."

He already had spies stationed in Kirigakure—tracking Yu wouldn't be an issue.

"Pleasure doing business."

Yu knelt down. A spatial tremor rippled beside him.

Three corpses appeared from the void:

Asuma and the two others

Orochimaru's lips curled with a sinister grin. His pale face twisted in glee.

So Yu-kun wants Asuma, after resurrection and enhanced with Fury, to return to Konoha as a little surprise?

"Interesting…"

He couldn't help imagining his old teacher's face upon witnessing such a thing.

"Take the first two and convert them into black market currency. As for the Edo Tensei… you know what to do."

Yu finished speaking, then leapt atop Garaga's back. He looked to Nono and Shizune and gave a small gesture—it was time to depart.
