Chapter 578 - Chapter 578: Sinnoh’s Champion Battle (2)

Chapter 578: Sinnoh's Champion Battle (2)

~Third POV~

[Sinnoh Region, Pokémon League – Champion's Room]

Cynthia murmured, her eyes glinting with excitement, "And so, our dance continues."

Azure retorted, the adrenaline pumping through his veins, "You bet it does, Cynthia!"

The battle began again.

Cynthia wasted no time commanding, "Porygon-Z, Rain Dance!"

*RMBL*

With a series of rapid, intricate movements, Porygon-Z began to swirl. Its digital form pulsed, and then, from the ceiling of the black chamber, actual clouds began to gather. Within moments, a gentle but persistent rain began to fall, pattering softly against the obsidian floor. The aroma of ozone filled the air.

Azure deduced instantly, 'Rain Dance... she's setting up for Thunder.'

Azure commanded, his voice sharp, "Kleavor, Strong Style Stone Axe! Dash through it and attack!"

*TRMBL*

With a primal chitter, Kleavor lowered its head, its axe-like arms glowing with Rock-type energy. It lunged forward, surprisingly agile despite its bulk, slicing through the digital droplets of rain. The ground trembled slightly with each powerful stride.

Cynthia countered, her voice unwavering, "Porygon-Z, Teleport!"

*FWOOSH*

Just as Kleavor's glowing axes were about to strike, Porygon-Z shimmered, its form distorting like a glitching video. It vanished, reappearing several yards away, far from Kleavor's reach.

*WHAM*

Though Porygon-Z had dodged, Kleavor's Stone Axe still struck the ground where the digital Pokémon had stood. A shower of sharp, jagged rocks erupted, scattering across Kleavor's side of the field.

*CLATTER*

Azure mentally cheered, 'Stealth Rocks! Perfect. Every one of her Pokémon will take damage upon entry now.'

A slow, appreciative smile spread across Cynthia's face, muttering, "Clever, Azure. Even in a chase, you find a way to set traps."

She paused, then her expression softened slightly, stating, "You know, Azure, I must thank you. Our last battle in Kanto, and the advice you gave me afterward... it truly helped me grow, not just as a trainer, but as a Champion."

Her eyes locked onto his, gleaming with renewed intensity, declared in a determined tone with a serious expression, "And now, I intend to show you just how much I've improved by defeating you, right here, right now!"

Azure met her gaze, a thrill running through him as he answered back, "I'm looking forward to it, Cynthia. Let's see what you've got!"

Cynthia's voice cut through the air, "Porygon-Z, Thunder!"

*CRACKLE—ZAP*

Porygon-Z, now a safe distance away, glowed with electric energy. A massive, jagged bolt of lightning materialized above it, crackling with raw power. It descended, a guaranteed direct hit in the rain, aimed squarely at Kleavor.

Azure roared, his eyes narrowing, "Kleavor, Full Counter technique! Block it!"

*Shiii*

Kleavor, without hesitation, brought its axe-arms together, forming an X-shape. A faint, almost transparent barrier shimmered into existence around its body.

Azure thought rapidly, a plan already forming, 'I know Kleavor only knows Light Screen. It can only reflect special attacks. Thunder is special, perfect!'

He watched as the Light Screen energy-coated its stone axes…

*ZAP—CLANG*

The powerful thunderbolt struck Kleavor's axe-armed head-on. Instead of being absorbed, the electrical energy seemed to ripple, then ricochet off the shimmering barrier. The bolt, now twisted and distorted, was sent hurtling back towards Porygon-Z.

Cynthia's voice was instant, "Teleport!"

*Swooosh*

Porygon-Z, quicker than the eye, vanished again, avoiding its own reflected attack. But Azure's grin widened, expecting this.

He bellowed, his eyes alight, "Strong Style Pursuit, Kleavor!"

*WHOOOSH*

Kleavor, seemingly anticipating Porygon-Z's escape route, blurred instinctively. He moved with incredible speed, a primal hunting instinct guiding him. It reappeared precisely where Porygon-Z materialized, its axe-arm already swinging.

*THWACK*

Kleavor's Pursuit slammed into Porygon-Z, catching the digital Pokémon mid-teleport. Porygon-Z cried out, a discordant whirring sound, as it was sent skidding across the wet floor. Porygon-Z's body shimmered, indicating the heavy blow.

Azure pressed the advantage, "Now, Agile Style Brick Break!"

*SHING*

Kleavor moved with astonishing agility, its axe-arm flashing. It brought its arm down in a swift, chopping motion!

Cynthia commanded, recovering quickly, "Tri-Attack, Porygon-Z!"

*TINK*

Porygon-Z retaliated with a burst of multi-colored energy, a Tri-Attack that struck Kleavor. However, as a Bug/Rock type, the Normal-type attack did little more than ruffle Kleavor's chitinous armor.

*CRACK—WHIRRRR*

Whereas Kleavor's Brick Break, a powerful Fighting-type move, connected with a satisfying CRACK against Porygon-Z's body, causing it to flinch and whir loudly. The next exchange was brutal and simultaneous.

Azure shouted, knowing the Sharpness ability would boost the cutting move, "Stone Axe, Kleavor!"

Cynthia countered, capitalizing on the guaranteed hit in the ongoing rain, "Thunder, Porygon-Z!"

*SWISH*

Kleavor's axe-arms glowed once more, razor-sharp, as it lunged. Porygon-Z, meanwhile, fired another devastating Thunder. Both attacks struck their mark.

*WHUMP—ZAP*

Kleavor's Stone Axe carved a deep gouge into Porygon-Z's polygonal form, eliciting a loud, pained digital screech. At the same instant, Porygon-Z's Thunder ripped through Kleavor, causing the Bug/Rock Pokémon to shudder violently. A faint blue glow indicated it had been paralyzed. Its movements, once swift, became jerky.

Cynthia ordered, seeing her Pokémon was heavily damaged, "Porygon-Z, Teleport!"

*Swooosh*

Porygon-Z blinked out of existence, but Azure was ready. Azure bellowed, "Pursuit, Kleavor! Don't let—"

*BZZZT*

But his heart sank as he saw the paralysis take hold. Kleavor tried to dash, but its limbs spasmed. It was stuck, unable to move at full speed.

Porygon-Z reappeared at a distance, its form flickering. Cynthia swiftly commanded, "Porygon-Z! Recover!"

*Shiii*

The digital Pokémon glowed green, slowly stitching itself back together, restoring a portion of its lost health.

Azure swiftly redirected, "Kleavor, Tailwind!"

*WHOOSH*

Despite the paralysis, Kleavor managed to flap its wings with a surge of energy, conjuring a strong gust of wind that swirled around Azure's side of the field. The Tailwind effect activated, guaranteeing priority for Azure's Pokémon for the next few turns.

Cynthia, seeing Porygon-Z still heavily damaged despite Recover, made a strategic decision. She said, recalling the Virtual Pokémon, "Porygon-Z, return!"

Azure seized the opportunity, "Kleavor, Swords Dance!"

*SHIII*

Kleavor, still slightly trembling from paralysis, focused its energy. Its axe-arms glowed intensely, its Attack power growing by +2 Stages. A raw, intimidating aura surrounded it, prepared for battle.

*POP*

The familiar form of Darkrai rematerialized on Cynthia's side, emerging from its Poké Ball. But as it landed…

*WHOOSH*

… the jagged Stealth Rocks scattered across the field all tackled, exploding against its shadowy body. Darkrai recoiled, a low growl escaping its throat as it took a significant chunk of damage. Azure's eyes narrowed as he thought calmly of the current situation: 'Tailwind is still active. Kleavor moves first.'

He shouted, "Strong Style Close Combat!"

Kleavor, ignoring the lingering paralysis as much as possible, let out another guttural chitter. It charged, a whirlwind of powerful punches and kicks. Its movements, though slightly hampered, were still devastatingly quick thanks to Tailwind.

It closed the distance to Darkrai in an instant.

*WHAM-WHUMP*

Kleavor's axes slammed into Darkrai's shadowy form in a flurry of Fighting-type attacks. Darkrai cried out, the super-effective damage ripping through its defenses. It stumbled back, leaving ripples on the floor as if disturbing a dark pool.

Cynthia's voice was sharp, cutting through the din, "Ice Beam!"

*FWOOOSH*

Darkrai, still reeling, managed to conjure a concentrated beam of frigid energy. The Ice Beam shot towards Kleavor, aiming to freeze it solid.

Azure countered, "Protect, Kleavor!"

*CLICK*

Kleavor's instincts flared. It threw up its axe-arms, a faint green barrier shimmering around it just as the Ice Beam was about to connect. The attack harmlessly splattered against the force field. Azure pressed, knowing Darkrai was vulnerable, "Strong Style X-Scissor!"

*ZOOOOM*

Kleavor's axe-arms crossed, glowing with Bug-type energy, sharpened by its ability. It lunged, ready to cleave through Darkrai.

Cynthia bit out, her calm demeanor cracking just slightly, "Agility!"

*WHOOSH*

Darkrai, moving with unnatural speed, shimmered and vanished from Kleavor's path. The X-Scissor sliced through empty air. The Pitch-Black Pokémon reappeared, now radiating an accelerated aura thanks to Agility.

Azure cursed internally, 'Damn it! She boosted its speed!'

Cynthia ordered, seizing the moment, "Thunder!"

The rain was still falling.

*CRACKLE—ZAP*

Darkrai, without hesitation, summoned a massive bolt of lightning. This time, there was no barrier for Kleavor. The bolt, guaranteed to hit due to the rain, struck the Bug/Rock Pokémon with devastating force. Kleavor screamed, its form convulsing. Its sturdy body flickered, then collapsed, unconscious.

*THUD*

Cynthia let out a soft sigh, her expression returning to serene composure as she said calmly, "A magnificent effort, Azure. Kleavor fought bravely and with incredible power. You've truly mastered its unique abilities."

She paused, then her eyes, sharp and intelligent, met his, asking, "Who will be your next Pokémon, Azure?"

Azure recalled Kleavor, a pang of regret in his chest but also immense pride. He whispered to his partner, "You were incredible, buddy. Rest up."

He glanced at his remaining Poké Balls, his mind quickly calculating the odds. Darkrai was damaged, but still extremely fast and dangerous. He needed something that could hit hard and survive.

Azure chose, releasing his third force, "Alright, Gallade, it's your turn!"

*WHOOSH*

From the Poké Ball emerged Gallade, the Blade Pokémon. Its elegant, knight-like form shimmered, its psychic blades at its elbows gleaming. In its hand, a distinct [Galladite] was ready to be unleashed.

*HUMMM*

Upon entering, Gallade paused, its keen eyes locking onto Darkrai. With a focused hum, it conjured a sword made of shimmering psychic energy, a Psychic Spoon of pure Psywave, and pointed it directly at Darkrai, a silent challenge.

Cynthia observed, a flicker of intrigue in her eyes, and muttered, "A Gallade. A powerful Psychic/Fighting type. An excellent choice."

Azure replied, his voice firm, "You know it. Gallade, Swords Dance!"

Gallade's psychic energy pulsed, coalescing around its body. Its Attack stat soared by +2 Stages, becoming a formidable force.

Cynthia commanded, intending to exploit the rain, "Thunder, Darkrai!"

*CRACKLE—ZAP*

Another massive lightning bolt streaked towards Gallade. But Azure was ready.

He countered, "Full Counter, Gallade! Use your Psychic Spoon!"

*SWIPE*

Gallade, with a fluid, almost dance-like motion, met the Thunder. It extended its psychic spoon, spinning it rapidly. The powerful electric current struck the spoon, which absorbed the energy, then redirected it.

*ZAP—VWOOM*

The Thunder, twisted and warped, was sent hurtling back towards Darkrai!

Just as the deflected attack was about to strike, the rain suddenly began to dissipate, the clouds over the arena dissolving as quickly as they had formed. The arena lights gleamed mockingly on the now-dry floor.

*FWOOSH*

Darkrai, still incredibly fast, shimmered and dodged the returning attack, the Thunder harmlessly hitting the black wall behind it. Azure realized, a mix of relief and frustration, 'The rain ended!'

Azure ordered, anticipating Darkrai's status-inflicting moves, "Safeguard, Gallade!"

Gallade began to glow, attempting to erect a protective barrier against status conditions. But Darkrai was close as Azure thought, 'Too close!'

Cynthia's voice was urgent, aiming to capitalize on Darkrai's +2 Speed from Agility and the sudden end of Tailwind, "Dark Void, close range!"

*WHOOSH*

Darkrai, moving with incredible speed, blurred past Gallade's attempts at Safeguard. It unleashed a wave of dark, swirling energy directly into Gallade's face.

*FWOOSH*

The effect was instantaneous. Gallade's eyes glazed over, its formidable stance slackening. It slumped forward, instantly falling into a deep sleep, its psychic spoon clattering softly to the floor.

Azure cursed, realizing the timing had been tight, 'Damn it! Tailwind ended!'

Cynthia pressed the advantage, "Dream Eater!"

*SHHHHRRRRRR*

Darkrai extended a shadowy claw, plunging it into Gallade's sleeping form. Gallade's body twitched, and Darkrai glowed faintly as it siphoned off the battling Pokémon's dreams, restoring a significant portion of its own health…

/////

[Gallade's Mind]

Inside Gallade's mind, a vast, echoing darkness enveloped it. It was adrift in a terrifying, empty void, the silence heavy and oppressive.

Fear, for a moment, threatened to consume it. But then, a faint light appeared in the distance, a beacon in the endless night. From that light, a voice resonated, clear and strong, cutting through the dream's oppressive silence.

"Gallade!!"

The voice was distant, but it cut through the dark like a flare.

"I know you can hear me! We've come too far! Remember the training to be the best! Remember the bond! Wake up!"

It was Azure's voice, filled with an unwavering belief. Then it was Gallade's mentor's voice, followed by the next.

"You aim to surpass the Monkey and Aura User. Those two have been born with greater talent in their abilities of fire and Aura. What you must surpass them is the sheer force of will and hard work to beat them."

It was Mewtwo's voice, Gallade's mentor in psychic abilities. Mewtwo's words rang out in the darkness.

"You are trained by the World's Strongest Pokémon in the World. I'll guide you on how to use your psychic abilities to match the Monkey and Aura User. What they lack is your sheer willpower to persevere and drive to improve... To become the very best that ever was. That is your path."

Their voice wasn't just a sound; it was a physical tether. Gallade's "eyes" in the dream world snapped open. He saw a light—a bright, burning blue light that looked like Azure's soul. He reached for it…

"You're gonna be my Knight for the Team Gallade. I'll be relying on each of you to help me out, okay?"

The light pulsed, growing brighter, stronger…

[Sinnoh Region, Pokémon League – Champion's Room]

*SNAP*

Gallade's eyes snapped open, a sudden surge of determination coursing through its veins. It bolted upright, its psychic spoon reforming in its hand.

Cynthia gasped, her calm façade finally cracking, just a fraction. Disbelief etched her features, exclaiming, "What?! Gallade woke up?!"

Azure, seeing Gallade's eyes blazing, knew this was their chance. He ordered, "Strong Style Sacred Blade, Gallade! Now!"

*SHING*

Gallade, fueled by its Trainer's voice and its own fierce will, surged forward. Its recreated dual Psychic spoons glowed with an intense white-hot energy, becoming a blade of pure fighting spirit. It moved with incredible speed, a blur of Psychic and Fighting power.

*WHACK—CRASH*

Gallade's Sacred Blade struck Darkrai not once, but twice, with brutal, devastating force. The shadowy Pokémon shrieked, a sound of agony and defeat, as the super-effective attack ripped through its form.

*THUD*

Darkrai's body flickered violently, then fainted on the floor. Cynthia stared, wide-eyed, at the space where her Darkrai had just been. She murmured, a genuine shock in her voice, "My Darkrai... defeated?"

It was a rare sight to see the Champion so openly surprised.

Azure, though triumphant, knew better than to relax, thought, 'One down, five to go. And I've lost two already.'

He glanced at Gallade, who stood composed, its psychic spoon still glowing, its chest heaving slightly but its gaze unwavering. Azure smiled as he thought confidently, 'Still, that was a huge win.'

Cynthia said, recalling her fainted Pokémon, "Darkrai, you fought exceptionally well. Take a good rest."

She looked at Azure, a slow, appreciative smile returning as he said calmly, "Azure, you always find a way to surprise me."

Azure replied, a slight smirk on his face, "I try."

He knew Gallade had taken a hit, and saving its strength was critical. He recalled the Blade Pokémon, clipping its Poké Ball to his belt, but not before praising it, "Gallade, great job. Time for a rest."

Cynthia's gaze swept over her remaining Poké Balls. She selected a new Poké Ball, a hint of steel in her voice declaring boldly, "Very well. Let us see how you handle this. Togekiss, let us fly!"

*WHOOSH*

From the gleaming red and white sphere, Cynthia's own Togekiss materialized. The graceful Fairy/Flying-type Pokémon floated elegantly onto the battlefield, its pristine white body a contrast to the dark arena. Around its neck, a glimmering [King's Rock] could be seen.

*CLATTER—CRUMBLE*

As Togekiss entered, the lingering Stealth Rocks from Kleavor's Stone Axe scraped against its delicate form, leaving faint dust trails. Togekiss winced subtly, taking damage upon entry. Azure chose his next Pokémon. He smirked, declaring, "Alright, Rotom, time to show them your voltage!"

*BZZZT*

With a burst of electrical energy, Rotom (Electric/Ghost), the Plasma Pokémon, emerged, buzzing excitedly. It zipped around Azure for a moment before hovering directly over the arena, its mischievous eyes fixed on Cynthia's Togekiss. Its [Wise Glasses] shimmered faintly.

The Pokémon chirped, its voice a unique, almost robotic hum, "Rotom! Rotom! Ready to shock and awe!"

Azure couldn't help but smile at his Pokémon's enthusiasm. He then turned his gaze to Cynthia, a question forming on his lips, and asked, "I gotta ask, Cynthia. With all your power... I figured I might see your Enamorus in this battle. She's quite a force from what I saw at Mt. Coronet."

Cynthia's stoic expression softened. A gentle smile touched her lips as she explained, "Ah, Enamorus. She is indeed. But as powerful as she is, she does not particularly enjoy battles. She prefers to observe, to accompany me on my travels, to see the world evolve without engaging in direct conflict herself."

Cynthia paused, her gaze drifting towards Rotom, adding in a firm tone, "I respect her wishes. Every Pokémon has its own will, its own desires. And as a Trainer and a Champion, it is my duty to respect them."

Azure nodded slowly, a thoughtful expression on his face. He said calmly, his eyes reflecting his own experiences, "I understand completely."

He thought of his own Darkrai, a powerful ally who rarely battled, preferring to lend its strength in other ways. And others who only fought when truly necessary.

Azure smirked as he added, "I'm the same with some of my own Pokémon. Their happiness and their choices come first."

He took a deep breath, refocusing. The moment of shared philosophy faded, replaced by the burning intensity of the battle. He declared, his voice firm, "But right now, it's time to bring the thunder!"

Rotom zipped excitedly and said, "Bzzzt! Bring the thunder, indeed!"

Azure mused internally, observing Cynthia's calm demeanor even as her Togekiss took damage, 'She's setting the pace, trying to lure me in. That [King's Rock] means she wants to hit hard, make me react to flinches.'

He responded by sending in Rotom, hoping its speed and unique typing could disrupt her rhythm and stop her momentum as he thought, 'Electric attacks should deal with her Flying-type easily, and its Ghost typing gives it some interesting defensive options against a Fairy-type like Togekiss. But we also have Form Change to get out of a bind.'

But Azure didn't realize that Cynthia, the master strategist, had anticipated him. This was her trap, and he was walking right into it.

Azure commanded, aiming for a swift, decisive strike, "Rotom, Thunderbolt!"

*ZAP*

Rotom zipped forward, bolts of crackling electricity gathering around its ethereal form, ready to unleash a devastating shockwave, "Bzzzt! Take this!"

Cynthia's command was sharp and precise, "Togekiss, Defog, then Air Slash!"

*FWP—FWOOSH*

Before Rotom could unleash its attack, Cynthia's Togekiss flapped its wings with incredible speed, stirring up a powerful gust of wind. The gust, imbued with cleansing energy, swept across the battlefield, completely clearing the Stealth Rocks that had plagued its entry.

*WHOOOSH*

At the same time, Togekiss moved with an agility that belied its graceful appearance, twisting through the air, making Rotom's Thunderbolt miss its mark, exploding harmlessly on the ground behind it. The invisible wind buffeted Rotom, momentarily disorienting it.

But it wasn't over yet.

Cynthia commanded, "Air Slash!"

*SWISH*

Then, with a retaliatory swish sound, Togekiss unleashed a razor-sharp blade of wind. The attack struck Rotom squarely, sending a jolt of pain through its electrical body argued, "Bzzzt! That stings!"

Cynthia's voice carried, her strategy unfolding perfectly, "Keep the pressure up, Togekiss! ZEN HEADBUTT!"

Togekiss, its head glowing with psychic energy, streaked towards Rotom. Rotom, still reeling slightly from the Air Slash, tried to ready another Thunderbolt, but a sudden, inexplicable weakness washed over it…

*FLINCH*

It flinched, its electrical energy sputtering.

Rotom cried out, unable to move, its body frozen as Togekiss's psychic-infused head slammed into it with considerable force, "Bzzzt... wha...?!"

*WHAM*

The hit sent Rotom spinning, its electrical form flickering perilously. Azure's eyes widened in sudden realization, 'Serene Grace!'

Cynthia's Togekiss had its ability, Serene Grace, which doubled the chance of secondary effects. That Zen Headbutt, usually only a 20% chance to flinch, had landed perfectly. Cynthia had predicted his Rotom choice and had this counter ready.

Cynthia complimented, her voice calm as she observed Azure's dawning understanding, "You're a truly skilled trainer, Azure. But this battle is far from over."

Her eyes, sharp as ever, observed Rotom's weakened state. She knew a switch-up was needed to press her advantage.

She picked up her Poké Ball and declared, "Togekiss, return!"

A red beam engulfed Togekiss, pulling it back to its Poké Ball. Cynthia wasted no time, recalling her Pokémon to avoid any further damage, knowing Rotom still posed a threat. Swapping for the next, she yelled, "Now, Porygon-Z!"

*POP*

A complex, pixelated form materialized with a series of digital chirps and whirs. Porygon-Z, its body a vibrant array of polygons, hovered menacingly, an [Expert Belt] cinched around its digital waist, signifying its enhanced offensive capabilities.

Rotom's voice crackled with a hint of panic, "Bzzzt! A Normal-type! Uh oh!"

Azure grimaced. Cynthia was playing this perfectly. Porygon-Z, a Normal-type, rendered Rotom's Ghost-type attacking options useless. He was in a bind; his primary offensive moves were either ineffective or had just been dodged.

Aiming to take out Rotom here and now, Cynthia's eyes glinted. She ordered, "Porygon-Z, Shadow Ball! Finish this!"

*CHIRP—WHIRR*

Porygon-Z's beak-like mouth opened, gathering dark, swirling energy into a malevolent orb that shot towards Rotom. But Azure smirked, thinking, 'This would've been bad… if I didn't have the right counter for this!'

Azure yelled, "Rotom! Form Change! Stereo Form!"

Rotom, ever loyal, obeyed instantly, "Bzzzt! Initiating!"

*FLASH*

Its ethereal form began to shimmer, its electrical currents crackling faster. The familiar appliance-like body rotated and shifted, its central core pulsating. In a dazzling flash of light and a symphony of digital sounds, Rotom completed its transformation.

Its body now appeared more solid, its arms becoming speaker-like appendages, its base a sturdy, box-like structure. It was now Stereo Rotom, an Electric/Normal type.

*Wooosh*

The Shadow Ball, a dark, swirling mass, hurtled towards the transformed Rotom. But as it made contact, the attack simply passed through Rotom's new, Normal-type body as if it were air. It phased through harmlessly, dissipating beyond the Pokémon.

Rotom cheered, its voice now deeper, more resonant, like a bass speaker, "Bzzzt! No damage! Thank you, Ghost Immunity baby!"

A flicker of genuine surprise, quickly masked by a knowing smile, crossed Cynthia's face. She muttered, impressed, eyeing them, "A Form Change... intriguing, Azure. You truly do collect fascinating allies."

Her calm demeanor never wavered, but her eyes held a spark of renewed respect. She said curiously, "Still, Porygon-Z has other options. But what will yours be?"

Azure roared, seizing the initiative, "Rotom, Strong Style Boomburst!"

He had negated Cynthia's advantage; now it was his turn to press.

*BZZZZZZT*

Stereo Rotom pulsed with raw electrical energy, its speaker-like appendages glowing intensely. Instead of a simple sound wave, a concentrated, tangible wave of pure sonic booms burst; force erupted, shimmering with electrical potential, screaming directly at Porygon-Z.

Cynthia countered, urging her Pokémon to meet the sonic assault head-on, "Porygon-Z, Tri-Attack!"

*WHIRRR—CHIRP*

Porygon-Z fired a three-pronged beam of fire, ice, and lightning, a chaotic burst of elemental energy designed to inflict status conditions and heavy damage. This time, though, things were going according to Azure's intricate plan.

Rotom's Strong Style Boomburst wasn't aimed solely at Porygon-Z, but rather at a precise trajectory to intercept and repel Porygon-Z's own Tri-Attack…

*CRASH—BOOM*

The sonic wave collided with the Tri-Attack, creating a spectacular explosion of sound and light. But instead of simply neutralizing it, the immense force of the Boomburst repelled the Tri-Attack. The elemental beams, now amplified and distorted by the sonic shockwave, spun around and were sent hurtling back at Porygon-Z.

*WHAM*

Porygon-Z, caught off guard by its own reflected attack, instinctively tried to catch and absorb the incoming Tri-Attack. It managed to mitigate some of the damage, but the sheer force and elemental chaos of its own move, now intensified, left it momentarily immobilized, its pixels glitching, defenseless against the follow-up.

*BZZZZZZZ-BOOM*

Rotom didn't hesitate. With Porygon-Z frozen, it unleashed another devastating Strong Style Boomburst, a concentrated burst of sonic energy that slammed directly into the digital Pokémon. The attack resonated through the arena, a deafening sonic boom that shook the very foundations.

*CRACKLE—POP*

Porygon-Z faltered, its vibrant colors fading, its polygonal form flickering wildly before collapsing to the ground with a final, digital SPLAT. It was out cold.

Cynthia's eyes widened almost imperceptibly, a fleeting moment of genuine admiration crossing her face as she muttered, "Remarkable. To find such an opportunity in the midst of a crisis... your resourcefulness is truly something to behold."

She recalled her fainted Pokémon, a gentle look in her eyes, saying softly, "Porygon-Z, you did well."

The score was now 4 Pokémon for Azure and 4 for Cynthia. The momentum had decisively shifted. But Cynthia was not called Champion for nothing.

She said calmly, her voice regaining its usual steel, "Very well… It seems I must bring out my partner, then."

She reached for a special Poké Ball, intricately designed. She declared, hurling it out, "Let's go, my Ace! Garchomp!"

*POP*

A blinding flash of light erupted from the Ball, accompanied by a raw, primal roar that vibrated through the very air, "GRAAOOOOOOAR!!"

Cynthia's ace, her partner Alpha Garchomp, materialized on the field. Its reptilian body was bulkier, its scales shimmered with an almost metallic sheen, and its massive frame radiated an oppressive aura. A [Garchompite], a Mega Stone, glittered ominously around its neck.

*THWUMP*

Both Azure and Rotom felt the sheer, crushing pressure radiating off Garchomp. It wasn't just the Pokémon's presence; it was the combined weight of Cynthia's legacy and Garchomp's raw power.

The air grew heavy, thick with potential energy.

Rotom's usually cheeky voice was now laced with a newfound nervousness, "Bzzzt... that's a lot of power! "

Cynthia commanded, her voice cutting through the heavy atmosphere, "Garchomp, Dragon Claw!"

There was no hesitation, only a direct, powerful assault!

Garchomp let out another deafening roar and rocketed forward, a blur of land-shark power, "RROOOOAAR! (Time for you to die tonight!)."

*SHIII*

Its claws, glowing with spectral dragon energy, extended, ready to tear through Rotom. The ground trembled with its speed.

However, Azure was now ready. He had anticipated this. Azure commanded, "Rotom! Spin around! Omnious Wind Counter Shield!"

Rotom, despite its trepidation, responded with incredible speed, "Bzzzt! Understood Boss! Here we go...!!"

Its entire body began to spin with dizzying velocity, blurring into a ghostly green-and-white spiral. From its rapidly rotating form, a maelstrom of spectral wind erupted, forming a miniature but potent vortex that shimmered with an eerie, defensive glow.

This wasn't just a defensive shield; it was an offensive counter. Garchomp's Dragon Claw, brimming with destructive force, slammed into the swirling vortex…

*CLANG*

*WHIRRRR*

The resulting vortex of ghostly wind not only successfully repelled Garchomp's Dragon Claw, absorbing its force and deflecting it, but the spectral winds also lashed out, striking Garchomp at the same time. The Alpha Pokémon roared in frustration and pain, momentarily stalled.

But Cynthia was not one to be deterred. Her eyes gleamed with fierce focus. She declared, "Garchomp! Straight through it! Dragon Rush!"

Garchomp, shaking off the momentary pain, roared with renewed fury, "ROOOOOOAR! (Hmph! Fine then… I'll put 2% of my real power for this.)"

Its entire body became wreathed in a shimmering, violent draconic aura. It didn't try to go around or deflect; it became a living projectile. With an explosive burst of speed, it pierced through the heart of Rotom's Omnious Wind vortex.

*CRACK—SHATTER*

The spectral tornado exploded outwards, shattered by Garchomp's raw power. And then, with unstoppable momentum, Garchomp slammed into Rotom.

*BOOOM*

*THUD*

The Dragon Rush hit with the force of a meteor. Rotom, its electrical form unable to withstand the sheer physical impact, was sent flying across the arena, a helpless, flickering spark. It crashed violently into one of the transparent corner cubes with a sickening THUD, losing its form, its lights flickering out.

Azure winced internally as he thought, 'That was brutal. But Rotom bought me valuable time and landed some solid hits.'

He retrieved the fainted Pokémon into its Poké Ball, saying softly, "You were incredible, Rotom. Get some rest."

A faint, digital whir echoed from the Ball, a sign of Rotom's lingering consciousness, "Bzzzt... thank... you... Master... Azure..."

4 Pokémon remain for Cynthia. 3 for Azure.

The odds were still against him. Cynthia's Garchomp stood panting, its Mega Stone glowing, but its eyes still held that fierce, untamed power.
