Chapter 531 - Chapter 531: A Huge Power Awakens!

Chapter 531: A Huge Power Awakens!

~Azure S. POV~

[Sinnoh Region, Later, Snowpoint City – Snowpoint Temple]

Later, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, I watched from a vantage point outside Snowpoint City as Candice, along with the Fighting-type Gym Leader Maylene and Platinum, ascended towards Lake Acuity. They were a formidable trio, their determination a palpable force even from a distance.

I murmured, my breath clouding in the frigid air, "They're going."

Pikachu questioned, glancing up at me, "Pika-pi?"

I replied, a knot of unease twisting in my gut, "Yeah, partner. Heading to Lake Acuity. To stop Team Galactic."

They won't be enough, a chilling premonition of the struggles they were about to face. I had to intervene, but not directly. I had a different task, a more crucial one, if I was to truly alter the tide of fate.

I spoke softly, not looking back at my ghost Pokémon, "Gengar. You ready for some heavy lifting?"

Grim replied, her voice a low, rumbling chuckle that resonated with a hint of mischievous anticipation, "Heh! Always ready for a good scare, Boss!"

I couldn't help but grin, though it was a grim one as I replied, "Less scare, more… awakening, this time."

With a final glance at the fading figures of Platinum and the others, I turned my back on Lake Acuity and continued my journey further north, towards the imposing, ice-laden structure that was the Snowpoint Temple.

*Wooosh*

The wind howled around me, a mournful cry that seemed to echo the ancient power said to slumber within the very heart of the temple. The Snowpoint Temple loomed before me, a colossal edifice of ice and stone, ancient and profoundly silent.

Frost rimmed every crevice, and the entrance, a gaping maw in the icy façade, promised nothing but frigid darkness. Pikachu shivered despite his thick fur, and Eevee let out a soft whine. Even Gengar, in all her ghostly defiance, seemed to hold a flicker of awe.

I murmured, patting Pikachu, "Almost there, guys. Just a little further."

*Woooosh*

We reached the entrance, the air growing heavier, colder, permeated by a stillness that pressed in on my senses. This was it. The point of no return. I had made a quick detour to a remote Pokémon Center after my gym battle, ensuring my team was in top form, and more importantly, to retrieve some special companions I hadn't deployed since my days in Hoenn.

I reached for my belt, pulling out three Ultra Balls. They felt heavy in my hand, each containing a fragment of ancient power.

I said calmly, my voice echoing slightly in the frosty air, "Alright, fellas. Time to meet some old friends."

With three sharp clicks, I released them…

*WHOOSH—POP*

A brilliant flash of light erupted, momentarily blinding me, followed by three resounding thuds that rattled the very foundations of the temple. Standing before me, colossal and impassive, were Regice, Registeel, and Regirock.

Regice, a majestic pillar of crystalline ice, shimmered with an ethereal blue glow, its two glowing red eyes fixed ahead. Registeel, a formidable construct of metallic-grey alloy, hummed with a low, resonant frequency, its body covered in ancient, geometric patterns. And finally Regirock, a titan of rough-hewn boulders, stood solid and unyielding, its stony form radiating raw, elemental power.

They paused, their ancient forms radiating immense energy, and then, a shiver ran through them. Not out of cold, but recognition.

Their glowing eyes, usually stoic, widened imperceptibly.

*Hummm*

A low, vibrational hum began to emanate from all three, a sound that seemed to resonate deep within the temple, stirring something dormant. I whispered, a shiver of anticipation running down my spine, "They feel it. The presence. He's here."

Pikachu chirped nervously, "Pika, pika-chu!"

I reassured him, though my own heart was thrumming, "It's okay, partner. This is all part of the plan."

I looked at the three golems, their vast forms dwarfing me. I instructed, "Regice! Registeel! Regirock! I need you to focus your power. Wake him up!"

The Regis responded instantly. Regice glowed brighter, its frosty aura expanding. Registeel's hum intensified, a deep, metallic thrum that vibrated through the ground. Regirock's stony body crackled with raw energy.

They raised their massive limbs, pointing them towards the depths of the temple, and unleashed a convergent beam of pure power…

*CRASH*

The sound was deafening, like a mountain collapsing inwards. The temple itself groaned, a deep, ancient sound that spoke of awakening. Cracks spiderwebbed across the icy walls, dust and ice shards rained down from the ceiling…

*RMBL*

The ground beneath us began to tremble violently, a deep, rhythmic thumping growing louder with each passing second. Gengar exclaimed, her spectral form flickering, "That's quite the alarm clock, Boss!"

I muttered, bracing myself, "It's meant to be."

This was no ordinary Pokémon awakening. This was a primordial force.

*TMBL—RMBL*

The tremors grew more violent, the thumping becoming a slow, ponderous march from within. Then, with a cataclysmic roar that threatened to split the temple in two, the massive stone slab at the far end of the chamber, previously just part of the wall, began to move…

*THUD*

Slowly, agonizingly, it tilted forward, then rose, revealing an enormous, multi-limbed figure of titanic proportions.

Regigigas.

It stood there, a colossal entity composed of rocks, ice, and magma, its body glowing faintly with an ancient, subdued power. Five tree-trunk-like limbs, each tipped with what looked like jagged fingers, slowly uncoiled. Its head, a massive, block-like structure, rotated, two luminescent green eyes slowly opening, fixing on the three Regis.

A deep, guttural growl rumbled through the temple, shaking the very air. Regigigas, the Colossal Pokémon, the master of the legendary titans, had awoken, "REGI—GAAASSS—HHHH!!!"

And it was not pleased.

With a powerful, surprisingly quick motion, Regigigas lashed out.

One of its massive arms, moving faster than anything so immense should, swung sideways, a blur of primordial power!

*THWACK—CRUNCH—CRACK*

Regice, Registeel, and Regirock, caught entirely off guard by the ferocity of their master's awakening fury, were sent sprawling. I ducked instinctively, a reflex born of countless battles, as the three colossal titans sailed over my head with astonishing speed, impacting the temple wall behind me…

*THUD*

… followed by three sickening thuds that sent fresh tremors through the ground. I muttered, pushing myself up, "Well, that's one way to greet your family."

Regigigas's glow intensified, its green eyes burning with an ancient rage. It turned its attention to me, its colossal form radiating a silent, challenging roar.

This was it. The true test.

A grin, wide and utterly feral, spread across my face. This was exactly what I had come for. A challenge. An ultimate test of strength and will.

I shouted, my voice barely audible over the temple's groaning, "Alright, big guy! You want a fight? You got one! Let's dance!"

My hand flew to my belt, retrieving three Poké Balls. Hurling out, I yelled, "Lucario! Infernape! Gallade! Let's go!"

*WHOOSH*

Three more flashes of light, and my chosen champions appeared. Lucario, sleek and ready, muscles coiled for an attack. Infernape, fiery and fierce, immediately ignited his fists and feet. Gallade, elegant yet menacing, drew his psychic spoon, which shimmered with a faint psychic light, already prepared to cut through anything.

Regigigas let out another earth-shaking growl, its gaze sweeping over my Pokémon, assessing the threat, "RIGA-AAAOH!!!"

I commanded, "Infernape, start us off! Flamethrower!"

*HISSSS*

Infernape moved like a streak of pure power. With a guttural roar, he unleashed a searing torrent of fire, a blazing inferno that painted the icy air with an angry orange. The flames surged towards Regigigas, threatening to engulf the ancient titan.

Regigigas, however, merely grunted. With an almost dismissive gesture, it slammed a massive limb into the ground!

*CRACK*

The very floor of the temple erupted, a jagged shard of ice-crusted earth, fortified by ancient stone, rising like an impenetrable shield to meet the inferno. The Flamethrower crashed against it, dissolving into steam and smoke, leaving the titan completely unharmed.

I breathed, admiring the raw power, "Incredible!"

This wasn't just a Pokémon; it was a force of nature. Regigigas didn't waste time. Its green eyes focused, and with another shuddering roar, it began to tear massive chunks of ice and stone from the temple walls, imbued with its overwhelming power.

*WOOOSH*

They hurtled towards us, immense projectiles designed to crush. I yelled, my mind connecting with my Psychic/Fighting type, "Gallade! Psycho Cut! Slice 'em up!"

*Zoooom*

Gallade moved with balletic grace. His psychic spoon, vibrating with potent energy, flew into his waiting hand as he entered a focused stance. A surge of psychic energy flowed into the blade-like elbows that formed his arms…

*SHING—SHING*

With a whisper of thought, he carved through the air, his glowing psychic spoon slicing through the hurtling projectiles with terrifying precision sliced through with expert precision. Each rock met its demise, exploding into smaller, harmless shards of ice and stone, showering us in glittering dust.

I urged, seeing an opening, "Now, Lucario! Close Combat!"

Lucario seized the moment. He was a blur of blue and black, a master of martial arts. Fists and feet moved with impossible speed, each strike a guttural grunt of effort as he pounded against Regigigas's stony hide.

*THUD—THUD—CRACK*

He aimed for the weak points identified by his Aura, each blow delivered with devastating force. The vibrations from his attacks echoed through the chamber, chipping away at the titan's ancient armor.

But Regigigas was not merely a stationary target. Just as Lucario found a rhythm, striking with incredible ferocity, Regigigas moved with deceptive speed. A colossal hand, slow in expectation but lightning-fast in execution, shot out and snatched Lucario mid-strike. My Aura Pokémon was caught by the arms, held helpless in the titan's grasp…

*CRACK*

A horrifying sound echoed through the chamber as Regigigas slammed Lucario into the frozen earth. The ground splintered, sending a shockwave through the air. Lucario cried out, a pained yelp, his body momentarily stunned.

I yelled, my heart leaping into my throat, "Lucario!"

Even with his formidable defenses, that could have been crippling. I rushed forward, my instincts overriding caution. Pikachu and Eevee cried out in alarm, but I ignored them. I reached Lucario, placing a hand on his head, a surge of latent Aura flowing from me to mitigate his pain.

I asked worriedly, "You okay, bud? Hang in there!"

Lucario groaned, trying to push himself up, but his limbs trembled. He was dazed. This battle was far from over.

I roared, "Infernape! Fire Punch! Straight to the body!"

Infernape, enraged by Lucario's injury, roared back. His fists, already blazing, became white-hot infernos. He launched himself at Regigigas, a fiery comet of vengeance!

*BAM*

He connected with a mighty Fire Punch, the impact echoing like a thunderclap, sending a burst of heat and light across the chamber. Regigigas barely flinched, but a faint scorch mark appeared on its ancient hide.

A minor victory, but a victory nonetheless.

The battle intensified. Regigigas, now fully awake and enraged, lumbered with terrifying speed, its massive limbs swiping, stomping, and throwing debris. It was a whirlwind of raw, untamed power.

*Wooosh*

Infernape dodged and weaved, landing quick, decisive blows. Gallade, elegant as ever, kept the aerial barrage at bay, his psychic spoon a blur of defensive and offensive movements. The Regis, still recovering from the initial blow, were slowly beginning to stir, their eyes fixed on their master.

I yelled, my voice strained, "We need to wear it down! Keep up the pressure!"

Regigigas responded with another earth-shattering roar, its eyes glowing brighter, "REGI—GASSSH!!!"

It was a beast of pure, concentrated power, a living mountain that refused to yield. It felt like an endless struggle. Each of my Pokémon, though powerful, was like gnats against its overwhelming might. My metaknowledge had warned me of its strength, but experiencing it firsthand was something else entirely.

It was magnificent.

Seeing my team struggling to break its defense, and feeling a surge of adrenaline, I decided. A crazy one. A necessary one.

Can't believe I'm doing this. I ordered, and the Gengar shimmered, creating a veil of shadowy mist, "Gengar! Cover me!"

Ignoring the shouts of my Pokémon and the worried chitters from Pikachu and Eevee, I ran. I ran straight towards Regigigas, towards the raw, elemental power that threatened to annihilate everything in its path.

*Bdmp—Bdmp*

My heart pounded, not with fear, but with an exhilarating cocktail of awe and challenge. I felt the tremors of its steps, the rush of air displaced by its movements, the radiating heat from its magma-infused body.

Regigigas saw me. Its green eyes, which had been focused on my battling Pokémon, widened imperceptibly, a flicker of confusion crossing its ancient gaze. It halted, its immense head swiveling to track my seemingly suicidal charge.

I could almost hear the thought in its primordial mind using my telepathy, 'This human is… challenging me?'

Before my Pokémon could react, before I could even fully register the magnitude of its power up close, Regigigas acted. A colossal hand, almost as wide as my entire body, reached out, not to smash, but to grab...

*Wooosh—GRIP*

It seized me, gently by its standards, but with an iron grip that lifted me effortlessly off the ground. Hanging there, suspended in its mighty grasp, I didn't feel fear. I felt a surge of pure, unadulterated awe.

Up close, its power was intoxicating. It's rough, stony hide, the faint glow of its icy and magma components, the sheer, unimaginable scale of its existence. It was magnificent. A true force of creation.

I gasped, the words forced out, my voice ragged with admiration, "Incredible."

Regigigas's grip tightened, not out of malice, but perhaps out of perplexity. It roared, a guttural sound that vibrated through my very bones. Then, with a sudden, powerful heave, it slammed me.

*CRUNCH*

Not into the ground, but into the nearest temple wall. The impact was deafening. Ice and stone exploded outwards, creating a gaping hole. My body hit the ancient rock with bone-jarring force. Regigigas, its green eyes flickering, seemed to conclude that the insignificant human was finished. Its roar was a statement of finality.

My Pokémon cried out in alarm, Lucario leaping to his feet despite his pain, Infernape's flames flaring, Gallade rushing towards the debris. But I wasn't finished. A groan escaped my lips, but it wasn't one of defeat.

Pain, yes, a searing agony that ripped through my back and chest, but more importantly, a fierce, unyielding resolve. My Aura had flared just as I hit, creating a shimmering barrier around me, reinforced by my psychic abilities. It had absorbed the main brunt of the impact, diffusing it, allowing me to take the hit without being instantly pulverized.

I still felt like I'd been hit by a runaway train, though. Slowly, painfully, I crawled out of the crater I'd made in the wall. Dust and ice clung to my hair and clothes. My body ached, every muscle protesting, but I pushed through it.

A small trickle of blood ran from my temple, and my clothes were torn in places, but beyond that, the wounds were superficial. I stumbled, but quickly found my footing, still standing, still ready to battle, my eyes burning with defiance.

Regigigas's colossal form recoiled slightly, its green eyes widening in surprise. It let out a confused rumble as I read his thought, 'The human… still stands?'

My Pokémon, seeing me emerge, let out cries of relief and renewed determination. I said calmly, wincing as I rubbed my sore shoulder, "Yeah, that was quite a hit…"

My voice was a little hoarse, but steady as I continued, "But it'll take more than that to put me down, big guy."

I looked up at Regigigas, meeting its ancient gaze head-on, adding, "You only want to battle, don't you? To test your strength. To show the world what you can do."

I paused, letting my words sink in. I felt the big guy's emotions through my Viridian Force as I continued, "But you were sealed away. Locked in this temple… because everyone was scared. Because no one understood you."

A strange, almost mournful rumble escaped Regigigas. Its immense form seemed to sag slightly, its glowing eyes losing a fraction of their fury, replaced by a deep-seated weariness. I took a shaky step forward, then another.

My voice grew stronger, carrying my conviction, "You don't deserve to be hidden away! You deserve to fight, to prove your power, to exist in a world that respects you! There's someone who needs to be battled. Someone who wants to reshape the world, just like you did once upon a time, but for all the wrong reasons."

Regigigas stood motionless, its immense head tilted. It watched me, its focus absolute. The air crackled with unspoken tension.

I pleaded, extending a hand, not to catch it, but as an invitation, "Come with me, Regigigas the Colossal Giant! Come with me and battle the one who truly needs to be stopped. Show them the true might of the Pokémon that shaped this land. Become part of something bigger than just this temple!"

The silence that followed was profound, broken only by the swirling wind outside and the heavy thrumming of my own heart. My Pokémon, sensing the gravity of the moment, remained still, their eyes fixed on the titan.

Even Gengar was silent, her spectral grin softened by anticipation.

Slowly, ponderously, Regigigas began to move…

*RMBL*

Its massive body shifted, the floor of the temple trembling with each step. It walked towards me, its green eyes locked on mine. My Pokémon tensed, ready to spring into action if their master decided to finish what it had started.

Pikachu chittered nervously, and Eevee flattened her ears.

But Regigigas didn't attack. It halted directly before me, its immense form casting a shadow that swallowed me whole. Then, with an almost gentle motion that belied its immense strength, it reached out.

Its colossal hand wrapped around me once more. My Pokémon cried out, but I held up a hand, a silent signal for them to stand down.

This was different. This wasn't an attack.

Regigigas lifted me, holding me carefully in its palm. Its green eyes fixed on me, and then, a faint, almost imperceptible nod. A low rumble, different from its earlier roars, vibrated through its form. A sound of ancient agreement, of a decision made.

It had been decided. It would join me.

A wide, triumphant grin split my face. I whispered, my voice thick with emotion, "Thank you, Regigigas. You won't regret this."

I reached into my bag, pulling out the single Master Ball I'd prepared specifically for this moment. It gleamed, a testament to ultimate capture. Regigigas lowered its hand, allowing me to approach its chest.

I tapped the Master Ball against its stony core…

*ZAP*

The Master Ball glowed with an intense, pure light, wrapping around Regigigas. The colossal titan, with a final, resonant rumble of acceptance, allowed itself to be absorbed into the confines of the ball…

*Wiggle-Shook-Wiggle*

The light pulsed, once, twice, then solidified into an unmoving red sphere…

*BON*

It was done.

Regigigas, the Legendary Colossal Pokémon, was now mine.

A wave of relief and elation washed over me. I turned to my other Regis, who had since fully recovered and was now standing at attention. Their usually impassive faces seemed to brighten, their glowing eyes shimmering with what I could only describe as glee. Their master was no longer alone, no longer imprisoned.

I said happily, a genuine, joyful grin spreading across my face, "We have a new friend on the team, guys!"

I held up the Master Ball, feeling its surprising weight. I checked Regigigas' status screen and info.

[Regigigas, the Colossal Pokémon. Regigigas is an extremely skilled craftsman. Long ago, it created five golems in its image and brought them to life. It used ice, rocks, magma, a cluster of electric energy, and crystallized dragon energy to create these golems. They would become known as the Legendary Pokémon Regice, Regirock, Registeel, Regieleki, and Regidrago.

Regigigas is also capable of controlling these legendary giants, even if they already belong to a Trainer. It can also survive extreme conditions as it is able to work with the boiling temperatures of magma as well as frigid ice (−328 °F / −200 °C). When Regigigas is disturbed from its slumber, it goes on a rampage and shoots powerful beams of energy. However, it becomes calm and gentler if befriended.

According to an enduring Sinnoh legend, after it created the legendary giants, Regigigas pulled landmasses together and bound them with ropes to create the regions of the Pokémon world. At some point, Regigigas fell into a deep sleep inside the Snowpoint Temple. To reawaken it, one must unlock the door to the chamber where Regigigas is sealed.]

Huh… that's neat.

Didn't expect Regigigas to already know the Styles. But then again, it was in the past, so I shouldn't be that surprised.

Still, with his ability, Slow Start would be a pain. But I managed to have a fucking Slaking of all things in the team with Truant and worked around it.

With Gravity and Block… Yeah, I could work with this.

Grinning, I suddenly groaned, feeling the pain. Yeah, that punch really did some damage. I'm not gonna shrug it off.

Best to wait this one out till I recover a bit. My gaze hardened, looking towards the direction of Lake Acuity. For now, I could hope that Platinum makes it out, but with 2 Gym Leaders and her, they should be fine.

The only thing I need to worry about is the underlings. Shifting my head, Mt. Coronet is first as now, I had a titan by my side…

Then again…

I slyly grinned at a thought. I fucking owe Cyrus a rude awakening. Time to fuck with the Plot once more!
