Chapter 2 - -A Date With Death-

Sebastián: Great Sage, I need a strategy. This demon is too strong to face it directly.

Great Sage: You need to take advantage of your magical perception. The demon has a magical core concentrated in its chest. A precise attack could weaken it significantly.

I stayed at a distance, studying the demon's movements. Its skin was too hard for my broken katana, but perhaps magic would be a better option. I concentrated all my energy in my right hand, feeling the mana flow from my core to my fingers.

The demon unleashed another burst of energy that I dodged by inches. The heat of its attack singed my hair as I slid to the side.

Sebastián: (If I can't pierce its skin with physical attacks, I'll have to try something different).

I observed the structures of the abandoned building. Rusty metal beams, concrete rubble, exposed pipes… everything could be a weapon if I knew how to use it.

Great Sage: The demon is preparing to attack again. It is recommended to use the debris as a shield and counterattack when it lets its guard down.

I hid behind a column and concentrated my magical energy. This time I didn't form a simple spear, but visualized something more complex: small, concentrated energy needles designed to penetrate rather than strike.

The demon roared with impatience, smashing the nearby columns in its search. When it got close enough, I leapt from my hiding spot and unleashed my new creation: a dozen magical needles that glowed with a bluish tint in the gloom.

Most bounced off its tough skin, but two managed to embed in the region of its neck and chest, exactly where there was less protection. The demon howled, more surprised than hurt, but it gave me the opening I needed.

I ran toward a loose pipe, ripped it from the ground with a desperate tug, and, channeling magic through it, turned it into an improvised magical weapon. The energy coursed through the metal, making it shine with an ominous glow.

Sebastián: Take this, bastard!

I threw the pipe like a javelin, directly at the spot where the needles had penetrated. This time, the magic-reinforced metal pierced the demon's skin, plunging deeply into its chest.

A jet of black blood spurted from the wound as the demon howled, now clearly injured. Its magical aura flickered, weakening momentarily.

Great Sage: Successful attack. It is recommended to maintain pressure and exploit the target's current vulnerability.

I didn't need to be told twice. With "Rage" still active, I ignored the stabbing pain from my own wounds and focused even more magical energy into my hands. This time I formed something like a sword—rugged and unstable, but better than nothing.

The demon ripped the pipe from its chest with a furious grunt, but its movements were now slower, more clumsy. The magical wound was affecting its performance.

I seized that moment of vulnerability to close the distance between us. With a fluid motion, I dodged its counterattack and drove my magical sword into the same wound, twisting it with all the strength I could muster.

Sebastián: Die already!

The demon convulsed, its body emitting erratic bursts of energy as life seeped out of it. With one last spasm, it collapsed heavily to the ground, motionless.

My breathing was ragged, my body trembling from the effort and the waning effect of Rage. I stayed alert, expecting some final trick or unexpected move, but the demon remained inert.

Ability acquired.

I felt a surge of energy flow through my body. It was different from Rage—colder and more calculated, as if my mind expanded rather than my physical strength.

Great Sage: Ability acquired: "Enhanced Perception." This skill sharpens your senses and allows you to predict basic movements during combat.

Sebastián: Great… exactly what I needed…

My legs gave out under me and I dropped to my knees, exhausted both physically and magically. The adrenaline began to wear off, and with it the analgesic effect of Rage. The pain returned with a vengeance, reminding me of every blow, every impact I had suffered.

Sebastián: I have to… get back… home…

I crawled out of the abandoned building, leaning on the walls to stay upright. Every step was a monumental effort, but I knew I couldn't stay there. Other demons might sense the death of their comrade and come to investigate.

The way back was a blur, a mix of pain and determination. When I finally reached my apartment, I barely had the strength to close the door before collapsing to the floor.

Sebastián: Great Sage… how badly am I hurt?

Great Sage: Complete analysis: Multiple contusions, two fractured ribs, dislocated left shoulder, possible mild concussion, and severe mana exhaustion. Absolute rest for a minimum of 72 hours is recommended.

Sebastián: Great… and tomorrow there's school…

With superhuman effort, I dragged myself to the bathroom. I needed to clean my wounds and try to compose my appearance enough to avoid suspicion at the academy.

The mirror revealed a pitiful sight: my face bruised, a cut on my eyebrow bleeding profusely, and my clothes in tatters, stained with blood—both mine and the demon's.

Sebastián: Well, Satoru Gojo… looks like you're not so invincible here, huh?

I laughed at my own joke, then regretted it when a pang of pain shot through my side. With slow, careful movements, I peeled off my torn clothes and stepped into the shower. The hot water stung my open wounds, but also eased the tension in my muscles.

As the water ran, I reflected on my situation. I had managed to defeat a mid-class demon, but barely. If I wanted to survive in this world, I needed to become much stronger, and fast. As I remembered from the anime, the main story would soon begin, which meant I would have to deal with fallen angels, high-class demons, and who knows what else.

Sebastián: Great Sage, I need an intensive training plan. One that maximizes my growth in the shortest possible time.

Great Sage: Formulating training plan… Considering your current capabilities and growth potential, I recommend the following: Mornings—physical training to increase endurance and strength. Afternoons—practice of magical control and expansion of mana reserves. Evenings—selective hunting of low-risk targets to acquire new abilities without exposing yourself to excessive danger.

Sebastián: Hmm, sounds good, but I need to speed up the process. I don't have time to go slowly.

Great Sage: Warning: Excessively intense training could cause permanent damage to your body or magical system.

Sebastián: I'll take that risk. This world doesn't wait for the weak.

After the shower, I bandaged my wounds as best I could with the first-aid kit I found under the sink. It wasn't professional work, but it would do for now. I swallowed a handful of painkillers and collapsed into bed, letting exhaustion drag me into unconsciousness.

---

The next morning, the alarm clock sounded like a hammer hitting my brain directly. I smashed the device harder than necessary, silencing it with a swat.

Sebastián: Arghh… damn it…

Every movement was torture. My bruised ribs protested with every breath, and my shoulder—although no longer dislocated after I painfully put it back into place last night—was stiff and inflamed.

With effort, I managed to dress in the Kuoh Academy uniform. The effect of the painkillers had diminished, but at least I could move without screaming. I looked at myself in the mirror: the cut on my eyebrow had stopped bleeding but now bore an ugly scab, and a huge bruise darkened my left cheek.

Sebastián: I'll have to come up with a believable excuse.

I decided I would say I had been mugged on the way home. It was plausible enough and would explain my current state without arousing too much suspicion.

The journey to the academy was an exercise in willpower. Every step sent waves of pain through my body, but I forced myself to keep a steady pace. I couldn't afford to show weakness, especially now that I knew supernatural beings were watching.

Upon entering the campus, I immediately noticed curious glances. My current appearance, combined with being "the new guy," guaranteed unwanted attention. I maintained a neutral expression, channeling as best I could Gojo Satoru's carefree attitude, though inside I felt like I was falling apart.

The first class was mathematics, a different kind of torture but equally unpleasant. My mind wandered between algebraic formulas and strategies to improve my magical abilities. I sketched energy flow diagrams in my notebook, trying to visualize how I could better manipulate my newly discovered mana.

During the break, I sat alone on a distant bench, discreetly observing Issei and his friends. The perverted trio was, as usual, spying on the girls from the kendo club, oblivious to the supernatural dangers that would soon enter their lives.

According to my calculations, Issei would meet Yuuma/Raynare soon, marking the series' true beginning. I had to decide whether to interfere or let events follow their original course.

Great Sage: A magical presence has been detected nearby.

I tensed immediately, scanning the area. I soon noticed a red-haired student walking down a nearby hallway. Rias Gremory, heir of the Gremory clan and one of the academy's most powerful demons.

Sebastián: (Shit, I hope she can't detect my magical energy).

To my surprise and concern, Rias paused for a moment and looked directly at me. Our eyes met briefly before she continued on her way, but that exchange was enough to confirm my suspicions: she had noticed something unusual about me.

Great Sage: The demon Rias Gremory has shown interest in your presence. Recommendation: keep a low profile and avoid using magic within the school grounds.

Sebastián: (I didn't need you to tell me that).

The rest of the day passed without incident, though I occasionally felt furtive glances from other students who likely belonged to the Occult Club. Akeno Himejima, Rias's "queen," watched me during lunch with a smile that seemed innocent but hid a clear curiosity.

When the final bell rang, I left as quickly as my wounds allowed. I needed time to recover and plan my next moves.

Instead of going straight home, I headed to a nearby bookstore. I needed information about this world, and although I didn't expect to find manuals on magic or demonology, I could at least study Japanese history and culture to avoid standing out as a foreigner.

While leafing through a book on Japanese mythology, I felt a presence behind me. I turned slowly, trying not to show alarm, and found myself face to face with a black-haired girl with violet eyes, smiling kindly at me.

Yuuma Amano, or rather, Raynare. The fallen angel who would soon kill Issei.

Sebastián: (What the hell is she doing here? She shouldn't be interested in me, but in Issei).

Raynare: Excuse me, could you reach that book for me? It's too high for me to get.

She pointed to a volume on the top shelf. Her voice was sweet, her expression innocent. If I didn't know who she really was, I would have completely fallen for her act.

Sebastián: Sure, no problem.

I reached for the book, ignoring the sharp pain in my ribs, and handed it to her with a neutral expression. Our fingers brushed briefly, and I felt a chill run down my spine. It wasn't attraction, but the instinctive sense of danger.

Raynare: Thank you. You're very kind… Are you a student at Kuoh? I think I've seen you there.

Sebastián: That's right. I'm new; I transferred recently.

Raynare: Oh, what a coincidence! I'm new in the area too. My name is Yuuma Amano, nice to meet you.

She extended her hand, and I shook it briefly, keeping my guard up. Why was she interested in me? Had I alerted the fallen angels with my nighttime activities?

Sebastián: Satoru Gojo, likewise.

Raynare: Satoru… that's an interesting name. Hey, since we're both new, maybe we could explore the city together sometime.

Sebastián: (I don't like this at all).

Sebastián: I'm sorry, I'm pretty busy these days adapting to the new school and everything.

Raynare's smile flickered for an instant, almost imperceptibly, but she quickly recovered.

Raynare: Oh, I understand. Well, if you change your mind, I usually come here after classes.

Sebastián: I'll keep that in mind.

We said our goodbyes formally, and I watched her walk away among the shelves. Once she was out of sight, I let out a held breath.

Great Sage: Complete analysis: The individual called "Yuuma Amano" possesses an energy signature corresponding to a fallen angel. Threat level: High. Recommendation: avoid all contact and do not reveal supernatural capabilities in her presence.

Sebastián: (That complicates things. If she's interested in me, she could alter the entire anime timeline. I need to speed up my training and preparations).

I left the bookstore with several books under my arm and growing concern. If Raynare had shifted her target to me, all my prior knowledge about the series could become useless. I needed to accelerate my training and gearing up.

That night, despite my persistent pain, I forced myself to practice magical control. Sitting cross-legged in the center of my apartment, I visualized my internal energy as a river flowing through my body.

Great Sage: To increase your magical reserves, you must completely drain your mana and then allow it to regenerate naturally. This process, repeated consistently, will gradually expand your total capacity.

Following those instructions, I began channeling my magic into forming various constructs: spheres, whips, shields—any shape I could imagine. Each creation drained a bit more energy until finally, hours later, I felt the familiar void indicating my reserves were exhausted.

Exhausted but satisfied, I collapsed into bed. My physical wounds still throbbed, but I had managed to advance my magical training. Before succumbing to sleep, one last concern crossed my mind.

Sebastián: Great Sage, why do you think Raynare was interested in me?

Great Sage: Main hypotheses: 1) She has detected magical potential or a Sacred Gear in you. 2) Your appearance or behavior has aroused her suspicion. 3) Your presence has altered the world's predestined events, creating new causal trajectories.

Sebastián: Great, three options, and all of them are bad…

With that unsettling thought, I fell into a restless sleep, haunted by fallen angels and demons chasing me through infinite labyrinths of abandoned buildings.

---

The following days established an exhausting routine. Mornings I attended classes, keeping a low profile but carefully observing Issei and the members of the Occult Club. During breaks and lunch, I studied the history and culture books I had bought, trying to fill the gaps in my knowledge of this world.

My injuries healed gradually, though more slowly than I'd like. In the afternoons I trained physically, doing exercises that wouldn't aggravate my wounds but would increase my endurance and strength. And at night, I practiced magic until exhaustion.

On the fifth day, while walking through a park near the academy, I encountered Raynare again. This time it didn't seem like a coincidence; she was sitting on a bench right on the path I usually took.

Raynare: Satoru! What a surprise running into you here.

Sebastián: (Yeah, sure, a surprise…) Hi, Yuuma.

I sat beside her, keeping a cautious distance. I didn't want to seem rude or suspicious, but I also wasn't about to let my guard down.

Raynare: How are you adapting to Kuoh? Do you like the academy?

Sebastián: It's peaceful, I like it. The teachers are good and the classmates are friendly.

Raynare: Yes, it's a nice place. Hey, I've been thinking… maybe I was too direct the other day. If you're busy, I understand, but I'd at least like to be friends. I don't know a lot of people here.

Her expression was perfect: vulnerable, slightly shy—exactly what a normal boy would find irresistible. But I knew what lay beneath that innocent facade.

Sebastián: No problem. Adapting to a new place is always complicated.

Raynare: Right? It's a relief to find someone who understands. May I ask where you're from?

The conversation continued like that for about twenty minutes, exchanging superficial information. I invented a believable past about moving because of my parents' job (now "deceased in an accident"), while she maintained her cover story as a transfer student.

What was interesting was what she didn't say. She never mentioned Issei or showed interest in him, confirming my suspicion: for some reason, she had made me her target instead of the Boosted Gear wielder.

When we finally said goodbye, I felt uneasy. I needed to know more about her intentions.

Sebastián: Great Sage, can you detect if Raynare is following me?

Great Sage: Environment analysis complete. No immediate pursuers detected, but there is a weak supernatural presence approximately 200 meters to the northeast. Possibly surveillance from a distance.

Sebastián: (So they're watching me… I have to be more careful).

I decided to change my usual route, taking busier streets where it would be hard to follow me unnoticed. I also avoided using any detectable magic.

That night, instead of my usual magical training, I sat down to plan. I needed to anticipate events, prepare countermeasures for when Raynare decided to strike.

In my mental projection, I visualized the park where Raynare had killed Issei in the original series. It was a secluded spot with few potential witnesses. If she followed the same pattern, she'd probably lure me there to eliminate me.

Sebastián: Great Sage, I need to develop a defensive spell specifically against holy light. Do you have any theory on how it might work based on my current capabilities?

Great Sage: Analyzing… Holy energy is fundamentally opposed to demonic energy but neutral toward pure human magic. Recommendation: Develop a shield that doesn't repel holy energy but deflects or absorbs it and channels it into the ground. Conceptually similar to a lightning rod.

I spent hours drawing diagrams and testing different energy configurations. Creating an effective shield against holy light without having experienced it

directly was complicated, but the theory seemed solid.

I also prepared my apartment, hiding knives in strategic places and marking escape routes. If for some reason Raynare decided to attack me at home, she wouldn't catch me off guard.

The following days were a mix of tension and preparation. Raynare continued "running into" me casually, each time appearing friendlier and more familiar. I responded with calculated courtesy—neither so cold as to arouse suspicion nor so warm as to encourage her.

Meanwhile, I observed Issei from a distance. The wielder of the Boosted Gear carried on with his normal routine: classes, perverted antics with his friends, and entirely oblivious to the supernatural world around him. I wondered whether, in this altered timeline, he would awaken his powers or remain an ordinary human.

One week after our first meeting in the bookstore, Raynare finally made her move.

Raynare: Satoru, I've been thinking… would you like to go out with me this Sunday? There's a new movie I want to see, and afterward we could take a walk.

There it was, the invitation. In the original series, this date had been the perfect trap to kill Issei away from prying eyes.

Sebastián: (It's time to play cat and mouse). Sure, I'd love to. Where shall we meet?

Raynare: How about the station at two in the afternoon?

Sebastián: Perfect. I'll be there.

That night I couldn't sleep. I rehearsed my plan over and over—spells I'd prepared, escape routes memorized. I had no illusions of defeating Raynare in direct combat; my goal was to survive and, if possible, acquire some of her abilities.

Great Sage: Reminder: The "Enhanced Perception" ability will be crucial to anticipate her attacks. Recommendation: use the combination of magical perception and enhanced perception to detect energy buildup before she launches her light attacks.

Sebastián: Understood. Do you think I have any real chance against her?

Great Sage: Analysis based on available data: Probability of surviving without serious injuries – 37.8%. Probability of surviving with significant wounds – 52.3%. Probability of death – 9.9%.

Sebastián: Well, at least the odds are mostly in my favor…

Sunday arrived with unsettling calm. The sky was clear—a perfect day for a date… or an ambush. I dressed in comfortable clothes that wouldn't restrict my movements and hid a couple of knives in special sheaths under my sleeves.

I arrived at the station ten minutes early, which gave me time to survey the area and plan escape routes. Raynare appeared exactly at two, wearing a summer dress that made her look completely harmless.

Raynare: Satoru! Thanks for coming. Ready for our date?

Sebastián: Of course. I've been looking forward to it.

The movie was a bland romantic comedy, but it gave me time to mentally review my plan while feigning interest. Raynare acted perfectly, laughing at the right moments and occasionally "accidentally" brushing my hand.

After the theater, we walked through the shopping mall, stopping at a few stores. I bought an ice cream for each of us, and we chatted about trivial things. Anyone watching us would think we were just two teenagers enjoying a normal date.

Finally, as the sun began to set, Raynare suggested a walk in the park—the same park where she had killed Issei in the original timeline. My heart raced; this was the moment.

Raynare: This park is so beautiful at sunset, don't you think?

Sebastián: Yes, it's very peaceful. There's hardly anyone around.

Raynare: I like it that way. Actually, there's something I wanted to tell you, Satoru…

Her tone shifted subtly, and I felt the tension in the air heighten. We stopped near a fountain—the very spot where Issei had been attacked in the anime.

Sebastián: What is it, Yuuma?

Raynare: You see, I've noticed something special in you since the first day I saw you. Something I can't stop thinking about…

She stepped closer, and I braced myself. My right hand tensed, ready to activate the magical shield I had practiced.

Raynare: It's a shame, really. You're quite handsome, and we could have had a good time if circumstances were different.

Her disguise vanished in a flash of light. Black wings sprouted from her back, and her dress was replaced by a revealing black leather outfit. Her once-warm eyes now gleamed with cold cruelty.

Raynare: But orders are orders. You have something my superiors want, and I can't disappoint them.

Sebastián: So it was never a coincidence, huh? You were hunting me from the start.

Raynare looked surprised by my lack of shock or fear.

Raynare: Well, I see you're not as surprised as I expected. Did you already know what I am?

Sebastián: Let's just say I have a sixth sense for these things.

Raynare: Interesting. That explains why you were on our watchlist. But no matter what you know or suspect, the outcome will be the same.

She formed a spear of light in her hand, the golden glow casting an ominous light on her face.

Raynare: For your comfort, your death will serve a greater purpose. Your Sacred Gear will be used to—

I didn't let her finish. The moment I saw the spear form, I activated Rage and leapt aside, just as the weapon cut through the air where I had stood a second before.

Sebastián: Great Sage, complete analysis!

Great Sage: Enemy confirmed: mid-level fallen angel. The spear of light has corrosive properties against human and demonic energy. Avoid direct contact at all costs.

Raynare seemed genuinely surprised by my speed and my apparent knowledge of her nature.

Raynare: Oh, so you're not a normal human after all? This is going to be more fun than I thought.

She formed another spear of light and hurled it with deadly precision. This time, instead of dodging, I activated my magic shield. The bluish barrier absorbed part of the impact, diverting the holy energy into the ground. However, it wasn't perfect; I felt some of the energy pierce my defense, lightly burning my left arm.

Sebastián: Argh!

Raynare laughed, clearly enjoying my pain.

Raynare: A magic shield? Impressive for a human, but useless against holy light. You can't win, Satoru. Or should I ask… is that even your real name?

I ignored her taunt and focused my energy. I formed three magic needles, similar to those I'd used against the demon, and launched them in rapid succession.

Raynare elegantly dodged the first two, but the third grazed her right wing, drawing a hiss of pain.

Raynare: Damn you! How dare you hurt my wings?

The wound was superficial, but I had enraged her—that was part of my plan; an angry enemy makes mistakes.

I began sprinting between the park's trees, trying to keep obstacles between us. Raynare flew overhead, launching multiple spears of light that slammed into the ground and trees around me.

In a risky move, I suddenly stopped and formed a whip of magical energy. I sent it upward, briefly entangling Raynare's ankle.

It wasn't strong enough to bring her down, but it destabilized her flight for a moment, causing her to descend involuntarily.

I seized that opportunity to fire another burst of magic needles, this time deliberately aiming for her wings. Two needles pierced her left wing, provoking a cry of pain and fury.

Raynare: Enough of these games! Die already!

Her next attack was different: instead of a spear, she created an explosion of light that expanded in all directions. My magic shield barely protected me, but the force of the blast hurled me against a tree, leaving me momentarily stunned.

Before I could recover, Raynare landed in front of me, her face contorted with rage. She formed another spear of light, this time holding it like a sword.

Raynare: The games are over, human. You've been more entertaining than I expected, but I have orders to fulfill.

She raised the spear, ready to impale me. At that critical moment, I activated my final card: channelling all my remaining energy into a concentrated burst, creating a shockwave that struck her at point-blank range.

The force of the impact threw her backward several meters, giving me time to stand again. My body protested the effort, and I felt Rage beginning to fade. I couldn't sustain it much longer.

Raynare stood up, her outfit now torn in several places. She bled from a cut on her cheek and looked slightly disoriented.

Raynare: You're… stronger than you look. Maybe Azazel was right about you after all.

Sebastián: (Azazel? The fallen angels' leader is already interested in me?).

Raynare: But this ends now.

She formed not one, but three spears of light simultaneously, each floating at her side, ready to be thrown. It was a level of power she had not displayed until now.

At that critical moment, I felt Rage vanish completely, leaving me without its boost of strength and speed. The pain from my wounds returned with vengeance, and I knew I wouldn't be able to dodge what came next.

Sebastián: (Shit… is this how it ends? I didn't even reach the real start of the story?).

Just as Raynare prepared to launch her final attack, a burst of scarlet energy illuminated the park. A magic circle appeared on the ground between us, and from it emerged a familiar figure: crimson hair, piercing green eyes, and an undeniable aura of power.

Rias Gremory, heir of the Gremory Clan, had arrived.

Raynare: You! What are you doing here, demon? This territory is—

Rias: This territory is under the protection of the Gremory Clan, fallen angel. You have no authority here.

Her voice was firm, laden with natural authority. At her side appeared Akeno Himejima, her Queen, with electricity dancing between her fingers and a sadistic smile on her face.

Raynare assessed the situation quickly. She was wounded and now outnumbered by high-class demons.

Raynare: This isn't over, human. We will meet again.

With those words, she spread her wings and soared into the night sky before Rias or Akeno could stop her.

Exhausted and injured, I collapsed to my knees. The adrenaline began to fade, along with my ability to ignore the pain.

Rias approached me, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern.

Rias: Satoru Gojo, right? You've drawn our attention since you arrived in Kuoh. Not many humans can face a fallen angel and live to tell the tale.

Sebastián: Thank you… for intervening. Although, of course, I had everything under control.

I tried to maintain some dignity despite my pitiful state. Rias smiled, clearly unconvinced by my bravado.

Rias: Of course. Let me help with those wounds.

She knelt beside me and extended her hands. A soft reddish glow emanated from them as she healed the burns and cuts the holy light had inflicted on my skin.

Akeno: Ara ara, seems we have a very interesting human among us—and quite handsome, too.

Her tone was playful, but her eyes scrutinized every detail of my appearance and the abilities I had displayed during the fight.

Sebastián: (This wasn't in my plans, but it could be an opportunity).

Rias: Satoru, I think we have much to discuss. Would you mind joining us at the Occult Club tomorrow after classes?

It wasn't really a question, but a polite order in disguise.

Sebastián: I suppose I have some questions for you as well.

Rias: Excellent. Akeno will escort you home tonight, to ensure there are no more… incidents.

Sebastián: (It seems I've attracted the demons' attention sooner than expected. This could complicate my plans—or facilitate them, depending on how I play my cards).

With Akeno as my personal guard, I returned to my apartment. The Queen of Rias kept up light but probing conversation the entire way, clearly trying to glean information about me. I answered with half-truths and evasions, keeping my cards close to my chest.

That night, as I recovered from my wounds in the bathtub, I reflected on the day's events. I had survived Raynare's attack, which was an achievement in itself. But I had also caught the Gremory Clan's attention, which completely changed my position in this world.

Sebastián: Great Sage, what abilities might I have gained from the fight with Raynare?

Great Sage: Analysis of acquired abilities: "Resistance to Holy Light" – Basic level. Your body has begun developing tolerance to holy energy after limited exposure. "Enhanced Energy Perception" – Your ability to detect and analyze different types of magical energy has increased significantly.

Sebastián: Not bad for a first encounter. Next time I'll be better prepared.

I fell into a fitful sleep, my mind replaying the battle with Raynare over and over, searching for ways to improve, to become stronger. Because n

ow I was certain of one thing: this was only the beginning of my adventure in the world of High School DxD.

And when Raynare returned, as she had promised, she wouldn't find me unprepared.
