Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 : A Great Dragon — Defeated by Three Brave Students!

[ Deep Underground]

Within the cracked remains of the park's foundation, the defeated prisoners of Walter Park sat in chains—injured, bitter, and glaring.

Suddenly, shadows moved in the dim hallway.

A group emerged: six cloaked figures wearing masks—The Six Fingers.

At their center was a battered but grinning Amy Kirio.

Wett, adjusting his goggles, bowed deeply.

"We followed Lord Baal's orders. We've come to rescue one of the brass."

The prisoners growled and stood.

"What about us?! You said you'd get us out!"

Kirio simply dusted off his coat, unfazed by their protests.

His grin sharpened.

"Did I?" he said, voice laced with amusement. "I don't recall ever promising anything."

Anguish. Fury. The prisoners cursed his name.

Kirio only chuckled.

"Aah… That look on your faces. Delicious."

And with that, he turned his back on them, walking away with the Six Fingers through the shadows—free once more.

--

[Walter Park ]

A festival erupted in the streets above.

Colorful streamers flew. Demons cheered. Magic burst in fireworks across the sky.

Leading the celebration were the heroes of Babyls—Iruma, Alice, Sabro, Ameri, and the entire Misfit Class, flanked by proud faculty members.

At the front of the parade, atop a sparkling float, stood Ronove Romiere dramatically gesturing to the crowd.

"Rejoice! The students of Babyls have once again triumphed over darkness!"

His father, Chairman Rosevelt, smiled proudly beside him, not saying much—but his eyes glistened with pride.

--

[Alleyway – Kirio's Resentment]

Hidden in the shadows of a crumbling alley, Kirio watched the parade with wide eyes.

His expression twisted—not with joy, but disbelief.

"…Iruma… did this?" he whispered.

For a moment, his voice softened, almost in awe.

"You and I… we're connected. You were supposed to fall into chaos like me."

Just then, static burst from a walkie-talkie clipped to his coat.

"Kirio."

The cold, low voice of Baal cut through.

"Did you escape?"

Kirio pressed the button.

"Yeah, I'm out."

A pause.

Then Baal's voice dropped into a hiss.

"You were supposed to help ruin that park, not watch it saved."

Kirio flinched but said nothing.

"We needed a clean slate. A world of order. That place—should have burned."

Silence.

Then Baal gave a final command.

"Return to base. Now."

Kirio nodded to no one.

"…Understood."

Before slipping away into the shadows, he looked up at Iruma's face on a massive parade banner.

His voice dropped to a growl.

"You and I, Iruma Suzuki [Human]… are mortal enemies."

--

[Parade Grounds – Opera's Return]

After the excitement, Opera approached Iruma with his schoolbag.

"You dropped this, young master."

Iruma blinked and took it.

Inside—neatly folded—was a small piece of parchment.

He unfolded it slowly… and read.

"You'll always have a home here. No matter what. –Sullivan."

Iruma froze.

His fingers clenched the paper.

And then—

"IRUMA!!"

He was engulfed in a crushing, teary hug by Lord Sullivan, who had been holding back the whole parade.

"I was so worried, my dear boy! I thought you were hurt!"

Iruma tried to keep his composure, blinking fast to hide how much the note had moved him.

He stayed still in the hug for a moment… then, hesitantly, returned it—just barely.

"…I'm okay, Grandpa."

His eyes drifted to the note again.

I'll protect this place… no matter what.

--

[Afternoon – Rosevelt Hotel]

The elegant halls of the Rosevelt Hotel hummed with activity, the aftermath of chaos now giving way to celebration.

At the entrance, the glass doors swung open.

Lord Sullivan, eyes swollen from crying, rushed in.

"IRUMA!!"

He tackled the boy into a bear hug.

"You're alive! Safe! My darling grandsooon~!"

Iruma flailed slightly in the air, trying not to get completely buried in the old demon's sobs.

"…I'm really okay, Grandpa," he said softly, a faint smile creeping up despite himself.

--

[Kalego's Suite]

In a quieter wing of the hotel, Kalego and Balam sat in discussion.

"There's something unnatural about it," Kalego muttered, arms folded.

"Yes," Balam agreed, scratching his cheek thoughtfully. "None of the staff or security who encountered the culprits remember their names… or even their faces."

Kalego's brow furrowed. "Memory-manipulating magic. High level."

Just then, they entered Kalego's suite.

And stopped.

Jazz, Caim, Shax, and Gaap were sprawled across Kalego's bed—eating snacks and imitating his stern mannerisms.

"Discipline! That's detention-worthy behavior, Jazz!" Caim said in a terrible Kalego impression.

"Silence! Sit down and think about what you've done!" Shax added, making a fake angry face.

Kalego's eye twitched.

A glowing, ominous sigil appeared beneath his feet.

"Get. Out."

BOOM!

The four misfits were promptly launched out of the suite via magical boot.

Balam chuckled from behind his book. "They really do admire you, Naberius."

Kalego scoffed, adjusting his tie. "They're a nuisance."

[Hotel Dress Salon]

Meanwhile, the girls explored the hotel's famed dress salon.

Ix Elizabetta stood entranced before an ornate mirror, trying on a velvet red gown.

"We can keep them?" she gasped.

"All of them," the clerk confirmed. "Courtesy of the Rosevelt family."

Ix squealed with delight, as Clara spun around in a frilly pink number while Purson watched in awkward silence from behind a pillar.

[Hotel Rooftop – Sunset]

After dinner, Iruma quietly stepped outside to the rooftop terrace.

He leaned against the railing, staring at the golden-pink skyline, lost in thought.

"So much happened…"

The door creaked open.

"Iruma."

It was Ameri.

She walked over and stood beside him, the wind tugging gently at her hair.

"…That was brave of you. I'm glad you're safe."

Iruma nodded.

"Thank you. I just… I couldn't stand by while others were suffering."

He looked up at the sky.

"I want to keep protecting these days where everyone smiles. That's still my ideal… but I know I have to change to keep it."

Ameri turned to face him, her heart fluttering.

"Then… can I ask for one selfish thing?"

Iruma blinked.

"What is it?"

She leaned in, her voice gentle.

"Let's have a special day. Just the two of us. Just… us."

Iruma's face turned crimson.

"Eh?! Uh—well—I…"

"MASTER IRUMA!!"

"RIVAAAL!!"

Clara and Sabro burst onto the scene, dragging a confused Alice behind them.

Ameri stepped back, her cheeks burning, but tried to maintain her dignity.

Iruma, smiling awkwardly, turned to her.

"…Let's do it. I'd like that special day."

Ameri froze… and then collapsed to the ground with a dramatic sigh, steam coming from her ears.

[Press Conference – The Next Day]

Bright lights flashed. Cameras clicked. Microphones buzzed.

At the Netherworld Government Building, a press conference was held with Chairman Rosevelt and Lord Sullivan at the podium.

"We owe our survival to three young heroes!"

Behind them, Iruma, Asmodeus Alice, and Sabnock Sabro stood in formal uniforms.

"These brave students fought not only to protect civilians—but risked their lives for peace."

"Iruma-dono, how did you defeat the dragon?!"

"What's your relationship with Ameri-san?!"

"Do you plan to become a full-time hero?!"

Clara suddenly appeared in a flash of pink and mischief.

"HEEEEY! Want to hide at my house?! I've got snacks and traps!"

Iruma and Alice didn't hesitate.

They fled into the distance, chased by cameras, with Clara laughing all the way.
