Zoe Lewis felt like she was way too easy to soothe. As soon as he said that one sentence, she started to think she was making a big deal out of nothing, feeling quite guilty for making him wait outside for so long this morning.
"Did you have breakfast?"
"Yes, I did."
Ryker restarted the car, one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding hers. "Let's have lunch together."
Zoe looked at their entwined hands and thought to herself that she must really like him a lot because she didn't want to pull her hand away at all.
Her heart was pounding loudly, and she was worried that Ryker might hear it.
All the way to the driving school, Zoe was led by him, hand in hand, straight to the coach.
"Uncle Harris, this is my girlfriend, the one I mentioned to you before. We'll be counting on you."
