As expected, Evan dropped Zoe off near the house, not only did he not enter, but he deliberately parked the car a bit farther away.
Then, he stood under the streetlight outside the car, watching Zoe walk toward home.
When Zoe reached the door, she turned around to look at him and saw him still standing there upright, gazing at her from afar, looking quite like a "Wife-Watching Stone".
Zoe touched her heart; it was beating fast.
She didn't dare wave at Evan, fearing her parents would see it from the window.
She had just explained repeatedly a few days ago, swearing that she wasn't in a relationship and that Evan was just a friend. If her parents found out she changed so quickly and fell in love today, they'd certainly scold her.
Dad seems not to like Evan very much.
Zoe was a bit worried, how should she explain it to her parents? How could she dispel Dad's prejudice against Evan and the Lewis Family?
She dawdled to get in the door, and Eva immediately came up to her.
