Just when she thought she was about to fall, a pair of hands suddenly grabbed her shoulders, stopping her from collapsing to the ground.
"Thank…"
Iris Harris looked up and saw Brandan Hyde's face. The man's handsome features carried a hint of reproach as he frowned slightly.
Seeing who it was, Iris couldn't say a word. She tried to prop herself back onto the bed with one hand, but instead, the man lifted her horizontally and gently placed her back on the bed.
Sitting on the bed, Iris watched as Brandan bent down to tuck in her quilt, then turned towards the tea table to pour her a glass of warm water.
She didn't expect him to know that she wanted a drink of water.
Watching his actions, Iris couldn't help but feel a little surprised.
Taking the warm water that Brandan handed over, Iris held the transparent glass and softly said, "Thank you."
She lowered her head, took a gentle sip of the water to moisten her dry throat.
