Walking to Brandan's side, Alex Hawk sat down next to him. He glanced at Brandan's lip, which had split open and started bleeding. "Brandan, you should get that bandaged up. I'll keep watch here," he said.
Blood was still oozing out, making his handsome face look utterly miserable.
Alex Hawk had never seen Brandan in such a sorry state, as there weren't many who dared to throw punches at Brandan's face.
Brandan's voice was hoarse, "No need." He took a drag of his cigarette, "Why are you here?"
"Got the news," Alex briefly replied, "Heard you were in the hospital, so I came to check on you."
"..." Brandan lowered his head, saying nothing more.
The area outside the surgery room fell silent once more, the bitter scent of cigarettes lingering in the air.
At midnight, the door of the operating room swung open.
A doctor stepped out, "Who are the patient's family members?"
Brandan stood up from the bench, "I'm her husband." His gaze fixed on the doctor's face, "How is she now?"
