She recalled the argument between Brandan and Iris Harris.
"Iris wants to leave," Lady Hyde turned her head to look at him, speaking somewhat fearfully, "Brandan, we should let her go. We've already made too many mistakes, we can't make another one..."
Brandan's gaze slightly hardened as he tightened his grip on the water cup and turned his head to look at his mother, "Leave?" His lips pressed into a tight line, revealing a hint of a cold smile, "If she leaves, what about me? Let her be with another man?" His fingers tightened, and his voice was almost squeezed out from his throat, "I disagree!"
He had already let her go once.
He wouldn't let her go a second time!
It was her decision to come back with him, so why should he let her leave again?
