Iris Harris spent the whole morning in the study, anxious and fearful. She only had a little white fungus soup for breakfast, and now she was both tired and hungry, but she didn't want to go downstairs, lest she ran into Lady Hyde.
She pulled the quilt over herself and curled up inside to sleep.
She wasn't sure how much time had passed when she vaguely felt someone pushing her: "Iris, Iris..."
Iris Harris was sleeping soundly, and being woken up made her impatient. She waved her hand, pushing that hand aside, her tone full of annoyance: "Don't touch me!"
"Slap!"
A sharp pain radiated from her palm, jolting Iris Harris awake. She opened her eyes to see Brandan Hyde standing by the bed, looking down at her.
Iris Harris glanced at the back of his hand, hmm, it was red.
She felt a little guilty. Seeing Brandan Hyde's face, she still felt some fear in her heart. She didn't understand how she could have thought of him as kind and approachable during her period of amnesia.
