It was almost dusk when Brandan and Iris Harris finally returned.
Lady Hyde came out to meet them and saw her son carrying a large cake in each hand, looking distressed as he walked in from the gate.
The servants nearby saw this and quickly went over to help Brandan bring the cakes inside.
"Brandan, is it someone's birthday soon?" Lady Hyde asked curiously. Otherwise, why would he buy cakes?
"She wanted them."
Brandan stretched his sore arms and replied.
Iris stood beside him, diligently massaging his muscles, "You worked hard, Brandan!"
Lady Hyde knew Iris had a sweet tooth, but buying two twenty-inch cakes at once was a bit excessive.
After Iris went inside, Lady Hyde couldn't help but complain to Brandan, "Why did you buy two? What if Iris gets sick from eating too much?"
Brandan smiled bitterly, "She wanted both. What could I do?"
He didn't expect Iris to drag him into a cake shop as soon as they got out of the car.
