Brandan believed he wasn't capable of such awareness. When he liked someone, he couldn't hide it.
He liked Iris Harris, and wanted to be with her forever. He couldn't do what William Moore did, watching the one he loved run into another man's arms.
This might be the biggest difference between him and William Moore.
Seeing him approaching, William Moore slowly withdrew his gaze. His eyes landed on Brandan's face as he softly said, "I'm heading back."
Brandan nodded, "Go ahead. I'll stay here."
Since they set off, William Moore hadn't closed his eyes for a moment. Though his face showed no trace of weariness, a hint of dark circles had appeared under his eyes.
He was likely far more exhausted than he realized.
This man gave nothing away, and his appearance revealed none of his thoughts.
"You haven't slept in two days either. Make sure to get some rest when you can."
William Moore said lightly, then nodded slightly at Brandan and turned to leave.
