Brandan considered his words carefully, "Didn't I say? When Iris wakes up, I'll be right by your side."
Iris Harris looked at him and pouted, "Then I don't want to have the surgery."
Brandan was momentarily speechless. He hadn't expected Iris Harris to still be so willful. After all, when she was her usual self, she was always so mature and calm, inspiring confidence in others.
Brandan glanced at the nurses and doctors sitting in the same vehicle. The doctor who caught his eye awkwardly raised his head and said to Brandan, "Leukemia surgery requires full body sterilization, so it's best for outsiders not to enter."
Brandan naturally understood the dangers of this surgery since he had once been in that position himself. He sighed, withdrew his gaze, and said to Iris Harris, "Iris, I can't go in. I'm sorry."
