James Mason heard the name, a fleeting something in his eyes. He withdrew his hand, casually sitting by Iris Harris's side, and grabbed one of her hands, squeezing it in his. "Iris, didn't I tell you? I'm now called James Mason."
"But I like calling you Brandan."
Upon hearing this, James Mason quietly observed her for a moment. Iris Harris became inexplicably flustered under his gaze, but he soon diverted his attention and smiled instead, "Then you can call me Brandan."
When he smiled, that feeling of fear dissipated. Iris Harris looked at his crescent eyes and lifted her hand to touch the scar at the corner of his eye, "Does it hurt?"
James Mason caught her hand, "It doesn't hurt anymore."
"Back then, what exactly happened…," Iris Harris asked softly, "Where did you go? You're alive… why didn't you come back to find me? Do you know… how long I waited for you…"
