Brandan stood at the entrance of the intensive care unit, looking inside. His deep eyes fell on Iris Harris's face, covered by a breathing mask. He then closed his eyes slightly, turned around, and headed towards Lady Hyde.
Lady Hyde had experienced too much emotional upheaval today and was kept in the hospital for observation. She was placed in a deluxe ward, recuperating.
When Brandan entered, Lady Hyde was sitting on the bed. Upon seeing him come in, she looked a bit panicked.
"Brandan..."
"Mom," Brandan sat opposite her, casually lighting a cigarette, "why did you know she went to the seaside?"
His tone was very calm, yet powerful, making Lady Hyde's already pale face even paler.
"You know," Brandan looked at her, "I've always respected you deeply." He lowered his eyes and laughed silently, "But now, I've discovered that the woman I respect the most has hidden many secrets from me."
