After listening to Iris, she nodded indifferently. Only when Iris went upstairs did she turn to Viola Harris and Brandan Hyde with a smile, saying, "Would you like some fruit? Someone brought lychees over yesterday; I can have them brought for you to try."
Her attitude was completely different from when Iris was present—warm and enthusiastic.
Viola Harris nodded, "Yes, I want some; lychee is my favorite!"
Brandan Hyde was noncommittal, his gaze following Iris's departing figure with some thoughtfulness.
It was his first visit to the Harris family, and just by interacting with Iris, he glimpsed some clues about this family.
"Brandan, what are you looking at? Want to eat some lychees?"
Viola Harris clung to Brandan's arm in a coquettish manner, lifting her bright eyes to gaze sweetly at him.
Brandan's eyes returned from the staircase. He glanced at Viola Harris, and somehow, he suddenly found the sugary sweetness before him quite irritating.
