Cao Na hooked her arm around Gong Ruini's, admiring Gong Ruini's ability to enjoy shopping here just as much as she did elsewhere.
"I thought you really wouldn't shop at domestic malls."
"I went to Hong Kong, and then coming back to see the domestic malls, it's really just..." Even though they were strolling through one of the top malls in Beijing, Cao Na felt many things were hard to admire.
They say New York is better and more prosperous than Hong Kong, isn't Gong Ruini supposed to have even higher standards?
She only said this in front of Cao Na; otherwise, she would never be so honest with someone else. They would think Gong Ruini was just showing off.
"To be honest, I haven't shopped much. You know, I got pregnant shortly after I arrived, juggling classes and pregnancy, it was overwhelming." Even with all the preparation and confidence in her English speaking and listening skills, she almost couldn't keep up at the beginning.
