She couldn't even feel jealous.
Windsor Myres's eyes dimmed a little and nudged Mia Ginger, "They're looking for you."
Mia Ginger looked helpless and hadn't yet stepped forward.
The little girl in Louis Cox's arms dragged her voice and called out again, "Sister Mia, I've come with Uncle to find you!"
Great!
Now she's really become the center of attention.
Louis Cox always had a way, even without seeking her out, to force her out of the crowd.
Mia Ginger thought distractedly and waved her hand in their direction.
Seeing her soon, Louis Cox smiled and put the little girl down onto the ground, patting her head and said, "Mission accomplished, go play."
"Huh?" The little girl widened her eyes at him, completely incredulous.
Did she just get dismissed like this?
"What huh?" Louis Cox squatted down and pinched her cheek, "Do you remember what I taught you?"
"I remember." The little girl nodded like a pecking chick.
"Good girl."
