One of them was the surname Li, which to him was a humiliation, a disgrace.
The character Hua was even more hurtful from his childhood; the man who wasn't his father gave him the name but didn't fulfill his duties as a father. So he also disliked the name Hua.
Yet this name had accompanied him for more than twenty years.
When he was in college, he chose the port city because there was a house there that Mom had left him, along with the factory she had worked hard to establish alone, though a hateful person later sold the factory. He always thought fondly of those two years spent with Mom.
So during his studies, he often visited the factory, though it no longer resembled its former prosperity, now there were barely any people there.
In his sophomore year, a sign was posted outside the factory indicating it was for sale. His first thought was to buy it, though he didn't have enough money.
