Watching Alice's self-righteous demeanor, Scarlett couldn't help but mock, "Miss Green, you've really misunderstood me. I don't hate you, nor do I have any reason to hate you."
"You say I hate you for ruining my relationship with Matthew, but he has long told me that he only sees you as a sister. I'm not a woman who doesn't understand the situation, how could I possibly be jealous of his sister?"
