Even though Summer Sutton didn't understand the reason behind it, this was just how she was: the more Lorraine Hughes didn't want her to go, the more she insisted on going against her.
With a slight smile, Summer said to Henry Hughes, "You're really too kind, Mr. Hughes. I'm honored."
"Very good, very good." Henry chuckled, and immediately called home to have the chef start preparing the meal.
"What does Miss Sutton like to eat? I'll have the chef get it ready." As he was on the phone, he turned his head and asked Summer.
"Anything's fine." Summer answered with a smile.
"Then you can try my chef's signature dishes!" Henry turned back and continued talking to the house staff on the phone.
He gave a lot of instructions; just the dish names Summer heard were in the dozens. It was obvious he was taking this invitation to Summer very seriously.
After he hung up, Henry got in the car first, then gestured for Summer to get in.
