The two dolls were placed together, looking at each other, and the scene actually had a hint of sweetness.
Adrian Walyon stared at the doll she made for quite a while, his eyebrows gently lifted.
"Did you go out tonight just to work on this?"
Summer Sutton didn't answer him and continued fiddling with the doll in her hand.
She was contemplating where in the room it would look best: the desk, the windowsill, or the bedside table.
Adrian walked over, picked up her doll, and looked at it. He scrutinized the sweetly smiling doll for a good while, and even though Summer hadn't said it was for him, he grasped it tightly, claiming it as his own, "I'll keep this one; it's made quite well."
The other one, made in his likeness, he casually placed in Summer's palm, "Keep it safe, don't lose it!"
Not caring whether she wanted it or not, he clenched her hand and turned to continue examining the one in his hand.
The more he looked at it, the more he liked it.
