Huo Shaojun's heart ached, a mix of sour and bitter emotions. He frowned slightly, looking down at the little woman in his arms who seemed to want to bury her face into his body. With a husky voice, he said, "Tongtong, look up."
"I'm asleep," Jian Liangtong murmured against his chest.
Huo Shaojun, "..."
"Tongtong..."
"Oh, stop calling me, I'm trying to sleep!" Jian Liangtong sniffed and said.
Huo Shaojun's eyebrows knit together lightly; gentle tactics wouldn't work, so he decided to use a firmer approach.
He lifted Jian Liangtong's face with one hand, aided by the faint starlight coming in from the window. Gazing at her small face with tightly shut eyes and mouth, his heart ached slightly. He lowered his head and kissed her lips, looking with cold and tender eyes at her slightly damp eyelashes, he spoke softly, "Do you not want to let me go?"
