Then, he added, "Ask the kitchen to prepare calming tea."
"Understood!" The servant received the order and withdrew.
A moment later, after dealing with his wound, James Bennett left the study and went to the bedroom.
However, he didn't dare to open the bedroom door. He feared that opening the door might provoke Maya again, causing her temporarily calmed emotions to erupt once more. He didn't want to see her upset. So, he just quietly stood at the doorway, listening to the sounds from inside.
Time passed by second by second. Inside, Maya was in a daze, and James Bennett listened at the door, hearing no sound from her. He began to worry again, not knowing how she was doing inside.
