The knife cut into his left index finger.
Asher Land didn't make a sound, but Sophie Smith couldn't help but cry out when she saw the alarming red.
"I told you not to help, and now look what happened..." Sophie quickly pushed him out of the kitchen and sat him down on the sofa.
She rummaged around the room, looking for the first aid kit.
Alexander sat beside Asher Land, watching as he pressed his thumb against the wound that was gushing blood, his little mouth pouting.
"Does it hurt?" In the eyes of a child, being injured and bleeding must be very painful.
Hurt?
To be honest, he couldn't feel it. Who was Asher Land anyway? In the past four years, which instance of pain hadn't been heart-wrenching?
