"Sorry to keep you waiting." She flashed him a harmless smile and was about to move closer to him, but he stopped her.
"What's wrong?" she asked, frowning.
"I smell like grease and smoke." His face showed a hint of awkwardness.
"Pfft!" Sophie couldn't help but laugh, she thought it was something more serious.
"It's just the smell of oil and smoke, I don't mind." With that, she deliberately moved closer to him.
Asher Land curled up the corners of his lips, not saying much, just opened the window, his car was still filled with the strong smell of spicy squid.
The car stayed parked by the roadside for quite a while, and only after the smell had mostly dissipated did he roll up the window.
"By the way, don't ask me to buy squid again next time." He didn't want to endure that disgusting smell a second time.
"Okay, I got it, but I had no other choice, people asked me, if I didn't agree, wouldn't it seem too stingy? They didn't really like me anyway..."
