"Let me do it." He reached out to take her luggage.
"No, no, you're the patient; how could I dare to ask you to carry it?" Sophie stopped him and continued to drag the two large suitcases outside.
"I'm the patient, you're the pregnant one; we're both in the same boat, so there's no need to be so clear-cut, right?" Seeing her small body struggling with the huge suitcases, he felt a pang of guilt.
He ignored her protests and directly took the suitcase from her hands.
Sophie regretted it somewhat. Why did she pretend to be strong? Now, not only did she fail to make things easier for Asher, she became a burden to him.
She went to the garage to get the car, opened the trunk, and with Asher's help, loaded the luggage inside.
Asher just about to open the car door, but she beat him to it, opening the passenger side door.
"Sophie, what's up with you today? Although, I do like seeing you like this, but somehow it seems off, doesn't it?"
