The time had come, and several people had gone to class. At home, only Li Manjiang was left. He sat down to light the fire; soon, Mom and Dad would be back too. Snowflakes were already drifting outside, meaning it was going to snow heavily. Fortunately, he didn't have to run into that.
After tidying up, Xiao Li hurried home, seeing smoke coming out of the chimney and a smile on her face.

Once inside, mother and son sat by the hearth chatting. "Manjiang, didn't you say you were bringing your wife home?"

"What happened?"
"She found someone more capable than me."
Xiao Li sighed. "Manjiang, this shows you weren't meant to be together. Don't take it to heart."
"Mom, I found out only right before returning from my mission, which is why I came back late."
