Chapter 398 - Chapter 766-770

Chapter 766 Source of Fear - Desperate Spider

Relying on the help of the rope, Peter quickly arrived near the Penthouse.

Why not take the Elevator to the Penthouse? Good question. First of all, let's not mention that the Skyfall Object from the sky crashed into the Penthouse, turning it into a Sea of Fire. The Elevator of Parker Industries Building also cannot directly reach the Penthouse.

This is all specially designed to prevent anyone from breaking into the Confidential Area of the Building. To reach the Penthouse, you must transfer Elevators.

However, now that Elevator that can reach the Penthouse is definitely unusable. Peter can only hope that the Safety Stairs of the Building are still usable.

Opening the Security Door of the Elevator, a wave of Thick Smoke immediately rushed towards him. Fortunately, Peter had put on a Protective Mask beforehand, otherwise this mouthful of smoke could have taken his life.

Peter scanned the Indoor Environment through his Visor. Fortunately, the extent of the Flame's burning was not as terrible as he had expected. He just didn't know why the Fire Sprinkler of the Building hadn't activated, otherwise this Fire wouldn't have spread.

Peter roughly calculated that, based on the integrity of the Building, the Skyfall Object should not be very large itself.

It should be that the Thing just happened to land on some Flammable and Explosive Materials, which is why it caused the Fire. In that case, relying on the Battle Suit he developed for Cindy, and her own Physical Fitness, as long as Cindy doesn't get too close to the Explosives, she won't be too seriously injured.

Peter, feeling a little more Reassured, stepped into the Floor. He had just wanted to follow the route in his Memory to the Safety Stairs when he heard a Sound of Air Being Torn from behind him.

Before Peter could turn his Head, a Thing smashed into his Lower Back. Although this Thing had a heavy Force, its Texture was Soft, and hitting his Body didn't make him feel Pain.

The next second, Peter could feel that Thing burst open at his Lower Back. Immediately, a mass of white Substance instantly wrapped him up, leaving only his Head and one Hand holding Tools exposed.

His Legs being obstructed caused Peter to lose his Balance. His Body involuntarily fell forward, and finally slammed onto the Ground.

"Ouch!"

Peter cried out in Pain. He lowered his Head to look at the Thing binding him and was immediately Surprised, because Peter recognized this Thing binding him.

What bound Peter was precisely the web bullet he had developed, which was also one of the main Attack modes carried in the Web-shooter he developed to help Cindy. The Purpose was to trap enemies without harming them.

Peter really didn't expect that one day he would be bound by his own Invention.

Peter tried hard to raise his Head. With the help of the constantly flickering Flames, he saw a faint Black Shadow in the dim Elevator Shaft. This Shadow looked very familiar no matter how he looked at it.

"Cindy?" Peter asked tentatively. "Is that you, Cindy? Stop fooling around! Hurry up and untie me, we need to get out of here quickly, it might be even more Danger later!"

Peter's shouting, in addition to the Effect of Ask, also had the Effect of emboldening himself. After all, although the other party had a slender Figure and was leaning against the Wall in a very unscientific posture but wouldn't fall down, in this World full of all kinds of Superhuman, this could not be used as a basis.

For example, Spider-Woman, whom Cindy admired, had the same Superpower as Cindy.

Perhaps annoyed by Peter's noise, the Shadow hidden in the Elevator Shaft leaned forward until its entire Body left the Wall. In the end, it actually stood in the Air without relying on anything, Floating and flew out of the Elevator Shaft.

"Cin…dy?" Peter widened his Eyes. What appeared in his Presence was a familiar yet unfamiliar Figure.

It was familiar because the person who came was indeed Cindy. It was unfamiliar because the other party's clothing and Temperament were completely different from the little Girl in his impression.

At this time, Cindy was no longer wearing the close-fitting Battle Suit he had made for her, but a Viking Armor. Most of her Body was covered in an unknown Material that looked like Fabric. Her Arms and legs were covered by Armor made of a Material that revealed Metallic Luster but was Flexible.

In the very center of her Chest was a huge Spider Logo that kept emitting Crimson Light. The Scarlet Red Light, coupled with the surrounding Flames, allowed Peter to clearly see the several Scars on Cindy's Face.

That originally Cute Face was now destroyed by the hideous Scars.

"Your Face? What happened to your Face, Cindy?" Peter struggled, wriggling his Body like a Caterpillar. This represented his concern for Cindy.

"Hypocritical." Scarface Cindy coldly Interrupt Peter's movements. The latter showed a Surprised Expression, obviously not understanding what the former meant.

"What do you mean? What exactly happened to Cindy?"

Cindy didn't speak, but extended her Right Hand. Just as Peter didn't understand what she was doing, a piercing Sound of Air Being Torn came from behind him.

"Whoosh!"

By the time Peter came back to his senses, a huge Thing had stopped Directly Above him. When he saw clearly what it was, he was so frightened that he screamed.

Because he couldn't see the Full Appearance of that huge Thing, Peter didn't know what it was, but Peter could see clearly the Thing hanging on that huge Thing.

That was... Cindy? That's right, besides Cindy Floating outside the Elevator Door, there was another Cindy, but this Cindy was already dead. A Large Hole was opened in her Belly, and a Sharp Spike protruded from her Belly.

This Cindy looked like she had been dead for a long Time, because the Blood in her Belly had already solidified. Even when hovering above Peter, not a single drop of Blood flowed out.

Because the Situation happening before his Eyes was too shocking, Peter couldn't say anything except Scream.

"Want to know what happened?" Scarface Cindy said coldly.

"Okay, then I'll tell you. I was replaced by this Guy a week ago. In this week, she constantly Tortured me! Prying out Everything she wanted to know from my mouth!"

"I have been praying in my Heart. I hoped that my Brother could discover that his younger sister had been replaced. I hoped you could expose this imposter and then come to save me, but the Reality is the Scars on my Face that are increasing day by day!"

Speaking of this, Cindy's Emotion obviously became agitated. As soon as her Words fell, a Scarlet Red Combat Qi burst out from her Body at the same time, blowing Peter, who was lying on the Ground, away by several meters.

"Ugh!" Peter cried out in Pain, and finally broke free from Shock.

"Another you? How is this possible? How could this kind of Situation happen?"

A trace of imperceptible Despair flashed in Cindy's cold Eyes. She said coldly again.

"It seems that you have never noticed anything wrong. In that case..."

Before her Words finished, Cindy extended her Right Hand again. The Object hanging the Corpse of another Cindy immediately flew into her Hand. Peter finally got to see the Full Appearance of that Thing.

That was a huge Hammer, as tall as a Human, with one end Sharp and the other end flat.

(End of Chapter)

What a bizarre scene this was. A petite girl was currently holding a giant hammerhead in one hand, a hammerhead taller than herself, with a corpse identical to the girl hanging from the pointed end of the hammerhead.

Even if Peter Parker saw such a painting at an art exhibition themed around whimsy, he would definitely keep his distance, let alone when this scene was unfolding in reality right before his eyes, and the protagonist was his sister.

"Cindy, what's with that hammer?"

Peter wasn't an idiot. Of course, he could see that all of Cindy's abnormality stemmed from that ridiculously large hammer. Clearly, if everything Cindy said was true, then that hammer was the key to her escape.

But did Cindy's anger and resentment really come from that hammer? Seeing the scar on Cindy's face, his heart was filled with guilt.

"Your Majesty needs fear. If you, who are suffering from self-blame, die in fear, it will be the best nourishment."

Cindy said this, and her free hand traced a few trajectories in the air. Then, a scarlet halo rushed towards Peter's head. Peter, whose body was restricted, naturally couldn't dodge and could only let the scarlet halo hit him.

"This is my memory from these days. Savor it well, and then die embracing guilt and fear!"

After Cindy finished speaking, she leaned her body against the giant hammer. In the next second, she soared into the sky, piercing through the ceiling and flying into the night sky.

Facing this building of memory that held her happy, sad, and fearful memories, Cindy's inner heart was complex. She didn't know if she could really bring herself to do it.

Soon, while Cindy hesitated, someone made a decision for her.

The giant hammer that Cindy was leaning on emitted scarlet light. After the light faded, the hesitation on Cindy's face disappeared, replaced by determination and indifference.

Like drawing a sword, Cindy used both hands to lift the hammer behind her towards the high altitude. Scarlet energy immediately burst out, almost materializing into substance. Cindy's body also gradually leaned back in this process.

When the energy was fully accumulated, Cindy's gaze focused, and her body exerted force fiercely like a fully drawn bow. A wave of red energy immediately smashed towards Parker Tower.

After Cindy swung the hammer, she remained in the original place, wanting to quietly watch the Tower disappear. It was precisely because of this idea that she was able to see an inconspicuous green light cutting through the sky and rushing towards Parker Tower.

What was that thing?

As soon as this idea appeared in Cindy's head, the energy ball she released had already smashed into the building top. In the next second, everything began to vanish into ash.

No matter what that thing was, it was no longer important now. Apart from King Serpent, nothing could survive that attack. No matter what that thing was, what it wanted to do was no longer important.

Cindy picked up the hammer. The Cindy from another universe who was originally hanging on the pointed end was gone. The energy she had just accumulated was too powerful, so powerful that even Spider-Man's body had vanished into ash in an instant.

Her own fear, happiness, everything, everything had disappeared with that hammer strike. Perhaps it was precisely for this reason that she was chosen by King Serpent.

Cindy looked at the crowd that had become restless because of the explosion just now. The fear of these humans would become King Serpent's nourishment, helping him return to his peak, but this was far from enough.

If she wanted to fulfill Your Majesty's long-cherished wish, she needed to create more fear.

Just as Cindy was about to turn around and leave, a green light spot attracted her attention, and that light spot was coming from the direction of the Tower.

In the next second, the green light spot turned into a soaring pillar of light, and then a majestic sound rang out.

"In brightest day, in blackest night,

No evil shall escape my sight.

Let those who worship evil's might,

Beware my power, Green Lantern's Light!"

The soaring green light even dispersed the dark clouds in the sky. The bright moonlight finally sprinkled across the land at this moment. For a time, panic actually began to slowly dissipate, and courage and willpower reappeared in people's hearts.

"Peter Parker!" Cindy spoke her brother's name in the most venomous tone. That's right, the bright light that dispelled the dark clouds was...

Peter Parker.

Time rewinds to a few dozen seconds ago.

Peter, lying on the ground unable to move, was in tears. He wasn't sad for his impending death; he was crying for his sister.

Just within the short span of a second just now, he saw everything his sister had experienced in the past week. He directly felt Cindy's fear, hope, and despair.

Peter felt that in that situation, he would also grab at any straw to clutch at, even if it was a demon's helping hand.

But Peter didn't want his sister to fall into the abyss. He didn't want Cindy to live in that state in the days to come.

He wanted to save Cindy. He didn't want his sister to become a demon who inflicted fear on others, to be killed by someone someday. He wanted to become Cindy's brother again, to dispel fear for her.

With this idea in mind, Peter noticed a faint green light hovering beside him. He realized it was a small and exquisite Green Lantern ring, looking as beautiful as jade.

"Intelligent lifeform locked on. Peter Parker from Earth, you possess a powerful willpower to overcome fear and have a noble wish to dispel fear for others. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps."

"Please recite the oath."

Franklin withdrew his gaze. He had been wondering just now who possessed such powerful willpower to snatch the use of the Green Lantern ring from his hands. Now he understood. It was Uncle Peter.

Then it's no wonder.

"Why? Why?" Cindy's messy long hair fluttered in the wind. "Why do you still stand in my presence!"

"I've come to atone, Cindy."

Peter looked sorrowful. At this moment, he had completely changed his appearance. His original engineer-style attire had disappeared, replaced by a black and green tight-fitting uniform, with a symbol like a Lantern Battery printed on his chest.

"If you want atonement, then die for me!" Cindy's eyes were bloodshot, and her manic appearance imprinted in Peter's eyes made his heart ache.

"I will," Peter slowly raised his right hand. A Green Lantern ring emitting green light rested on his middle finger.

"But that will also be after I pull you out of fear. It won't be too late for you to blame me then!"

Cindy was almost manic. She let out a roar, picked up the giant hammer, and rushed towards Peter's direction. Scarlet light illuminated the night sky for a time, as if a sun had appeared in the sky.

Peter clenched his fist. Surging willpower was continuously injected into the Green Lantern ring. At this moment, he felt omnipotent!

Chapter 768 Source of Fear - Green Lantern Peter Parker

Lantern Rings, in the DC Universe, they are one of the most powerful weapons in the Universe. Don't look down on their unremarkable appearance; they are actually High-Tech products.

Just like the Green Lantern Ring, every Green Lantern Ring, in addition to the Microcomputer carried within, is also connected to Oa. This convenience allows the Lantern Corps to be closely connected. They share Knowledge and share experiences, so almost every Lantern can handle most situations.

However, in the Marvel Universe, this Green Lantern Ring jointly created by Twin Divine Artifacts does not have so many convenient Abilities. However, Valeria still dutifully added the Beginner's Tutorial and Microcomputer to the Lantern Ring.

So, as early as when Peter put on the Lantern Ring, he already knew how to use this powerful Weapon.

Watching Cindy charge towards him, Peter immediately raised his Right Hand wearing the Lantern Ring. Surging Willpower poured into the Lantern Ring along with his thoughts. In the next Second, Green Light flourished, and a huge hand of Strength surged out from the Lantern Ring.

The Willpower Arm formed from Willpower completely obeyed the Master's instructions. Peter lowered the Willpower Arm like catching a Butterfly, wanting to cover Cindy who was Charging towards him.

On the other hand, Cindy, who was just a moment ago still somewhat Reason-able, was now like a demon, regarding the huge Arm covering her as nothing. She swung the Hammer in her Hand, which was even bigger than herself, fiercely.

The sharp Pickaxe erupted with astonishing Energy. With just one Attack, it pierced through the Willpower Arm. In the next Second, the Arm shattered into Light Shards filling the sky.

Failing in one Attack, Peter was not discouraged at all. Green Energy gathered again. This time, four Cylindrical Object appeared around him. At the end of each Cylindrical Object, there was also a Rope connected to Peter's Lantern Ring.

Peter seized the Timing and pulled hard. All the Ropes were broken at the same Time. Following "Bang, bang, bang, bang!", four consecutive sounds, four Cannonball bombarded Cindy who continued to Charge.

Seeing this, Cindy still wanted to shatter the Cannonball like she shattered the Arm before by swinging her Hammer. But her Arm had just been raised when the Cannonball changed.

"Bang!" ×4. Again, four consecutive sounds. The four Cannonball actually exploded around her at the same Time, turning into four overwhelming Green Nets, seemingly about to wrap Cindy up completely.

Seeing this, Cindy changed the output of Energy. The cone-shaped Energy covering the Pickaxe turned into a Sickle that emphasized cutting performance even more. Taking herself as the axis, Cindy began to rotate from top to bottom, turning her whole person into a Blade Wheel.

As expected, the Blade Wheel successively cut open the four large Nets. Cindy did not stop after breaking the move. On the contrary, she accelerated her Rotation and then flung the Hammer in her Hand out.

Peter's Gaze narrowed. He raised his Hand and condensed four Shields, one after another. Each Shield was about two meters thick. For the first Time touching the Lantern Ring, being able to do this in such a short Time, Peter could already be considered exceptionally Talented.

However, one side of Cindy's Sky Hammer was a Pickaxe that was good at breaking Armor. This time, it hit her sweet spot.

"Crack!" Like the Sound of Glass Shattering, in the blink of an eye, the Sky Hammer had already broken through three Shields. The only remaining Shield was nothing special either. In the next Second, it followed in its Brothers' footsteps.

But, after the Sky Hammer shattered the last Shield, Peter, who should have been hiding behind the Shields, had disappeared without a trace at this Time. At the same Time, Cindy's Spider-Sense, which had not sounded for a long Time, suddenly blared like a Siren.

The stinging pain in her Brain forced Cindy to dodge to the left. As expected, Peter's Attack followed immediately. The latter, who wanted to knock the former unconscious, swung his Baseball Bat in Hand and missed. He was now showing a frustrated Expression.

"Tsk, just a little bit short." Peter couldn't help but click his tongue. Then, he perked up his Spirit twelvefold.

Because Peter knew that Battle was sometimes like Fighting Games. When one person's Attack missed, then he would be greeted by his opponent's Storm-like Attack.

For example, a Game where a rising dragon alone into the sky will lead to Death.

Sure enough, Cindy stretched her Right Hand behind her with Effort. Her whole person was like a Bow fully drawn. In the next Second, this Fist that looked very ominous landed on his Face.

The Shield that Peter had just condensed shattered in an instant. His whole person flew out like an Arrow shot from a Bow, only barely stopping after piercing through two High-rise.

Struggling to climb out of the shattered Bathtub, luckily the Shield provided by Green Light saved his life. Otherwise, with that Punch just now, Peter believed that even if he didn't die, he would become a Plant Person.

Scanning his surroundings, Peter found that he had fallen into a Residential Building. Fortunately, Ordinary Person had already been evacuated at this Time. Otherwise, because of his mistake, he didn't know how many people would die.

Superhuman Battles are sometimes like this. Just the Confrontation of Fists and Feet alone can pose a fatal Threat to Ordinary Person. For example, right now, two Buildings have become dangerous Buildings under Peter's collision, and it looks like they cannot be used anymore.

But now is not the Time to think about these things. Based on Cindy's hatred for him, Peter was sure that unless the other party personally saw his Death, she would definitely not stop Attacking.

"Boom!" Peter cast his Line of Sight in the Direction of the Sound. He just happened to see Cindy rushing through the Wall towards him with a Hammer in Hand. In such a narrow Space, huge Attacks like just now were not easy to use. Peter needed to change his thinking and change to a different Style of Battle.

Clenching his Fist, Green Light filled the entire Room. In the next Second, many Electronic Components appeared around Peter. Outside those Electronic Components were various kinds of Armor.

It only took less than a Second. A three-meter-tall Mecha was created by Peter. Under Peter's Control, the Mecha raised its Right Hand. The Mech Hook Claw shot out at the first moment and landed exactly on Cindy's Belly.

Relying on the Lantern Ring's special nature, Peter applied incredible Strength to this Mech Hook Claw, making it possess the Power to push away Cindy who was empowered by the Sky Hammer. Just like that, Cindy came fast and went even faster, flying backwards under the Control of the Claw.

"I know you, Cindy!" Peter's Sound was amplified a lot by the Speaker he created. So even though the Distance was so far, Cindy could hear it clearly. However, having already lost her Reason, she did not intend to pay attention to her Brother.

"You are very strong. I have always wanted to capture you alive without hurting you, but facts have proven that I can't do it. So I'm going to get serious next."

Peter jumped out of the Building. At the same Time, behind the Armor he created, another Green Light rose up, as tall as a Building.

"This will definitely hurt a lot. So after I save you, no matter how much you hit me, I will explain. But you must remember that I am doing this for your own good!"

(End of Chapter)

Chapter 769 Source of Fear—The Power of Imagination: Super Zord

The tall Light Screen behind Peter suddenly burst open, transforming into pieces, and finally assembled into a giant Mecha behind Peter.

The design of this Mecha was clearly based on something. Peter created it based on Super Zord from the Tokusatsu Movie "Super Warrior" he watched when he was a Little Boy. It looked almost identical.

However, unlike the colorful Super Zord, the replica Peter created was only green, and it also lacked the most important Head.

Peter cut off the Mech Hook Claw of his Right Hand, and then manipulated the small Mecha to jump into the Sky and perform a somersault. After the somersault, the small Mecha Peter was piloting turned into a giant Bull Horn Head.

Anyone familiar with Tokusatsu would recognize this as Super Zord's Head.

"Click!"

A green Electric Current appeared between Super Zord's Head and Body, guiding the two to come into contact. After a crisp Sound, Super Zord's fusion was complete.

Under Peter's manipulation, Super Zord took its first step. Surprisingly, despite its massive size, it left no footprints on the Road, moving with unbelievable lightness.

Super Zord's Speed was so fast that it exceeded imagination. In the blink of an eye, it arrived at Cindy's Presence. Along the way, it hadn't even made a Sound.

Cindy reacted quickly. Ignoring the Claw stuck on her Body, she immediately swung the Hammer. It was best to take the initiative since her opponent's Attack Power was unknown.

Facing the Sky Hammer that had repeatedly frustrated him before, under Peter's Command, Super Zord swung its Right Fist. Two powerful Powers collided, and the resulting Gale even blew down the surrounding Houses.

"Crack!"

A Crack appeared on Super Zord's Right Arm. Peter couldn't help but click his Teeth. That Hammer was really too powerful. He didn't know what Material it was made from, but it could withstand Super Zord, which was constructed from the majority of his Energy.

According to what was written in the Lantern Ring Manual, the Strength of the Green Lantern Ring completely depends on the user himself. People with strong Willpower and rich imagination can even perfectly realize the Strength that creations should have.

But obviously, Peter didn't have this Power yet. Otherwise, Super Zord wouldn't have been cracked by a Hammer. Even so, it was far superior to anything Peter had created before.

Clenching his Fist, Super Zord was now one with Peter. Peter gritted his Teeth and swung his Fist, and Super Zord naturally also obeyed and increased its output.

Using a risky tactic of trading blows, Peter managed to blast Cindy away, but at the cost of Super Zord's Hand being shattered.

"Shatter!"

Peter gritted his Teeth to stabilize Super Zord, so that it wouldn't shatter like its Right Hand.

"Miscalculated." Peter wiped the cold sweat from his Forehead. "I didn't expect that losing an Arm would almost cause the entire Zord to collapse. Was this what they meant by structural integrity?"

There was no Time for Peter to sigh. Cindy, whom he'd just blasted away, was already back for more.

Swinging the Hammer, such a simple but effective Attack Method made Peter envious. But Peter knew that what he envied was exactly what he wanted to destroy.

Before he could overthink it, Cindy's Hammer was already upon him. In the current Situation, Peter had to think of a Method to prevent Super Zord from being destroyed.

This was made of most of the Energy on his Body. If it were destroyed now, Peter would have no path left but defeat.

His Gaze sharpened like Electricity. Peter had a flash of inspiration and actually came up with a Method.

"Swish!"

A brief moment of astonishment appeared on Cindy's angry Face. Her Attack missed?

In the second before being hit, Super Zord actually disintegrated first. The once unified Super Robot split apart, just like in a Tokusatsu Drama, transforming into five Beast Robots to evade Cindy's deadly strike.

The five Robots bypassed Cindy and re-combined into Super Zord behind her Back.

"Take this!"

Peter raised his only remaining Left Fist and slammed it towards Cindy's wide-open Back. Cindy didn't have Time to dodge and could only hurriedly turn around and place the Sky Hammer in front of her Body.

"Boom!"

This Punch solidly hit the Goal. Cindy was sent flying like a Meteor, crashing into the Ground and sending Rubble and Smoke and Dust erupting.

"Ah!"

Roaring angrily, Cindy swung the Hammer to disperse the Smoke and Dust in the Sky. At this Time, her Anger was even stronger. Her only desire was to turn her Enemy into Mincemeat.

And the Goal of her Resentment was now standing in her Presence, still that tall, one-armed Robot, but this Time, the Robot's one Arm was holding a Long Sword.

Raising the Long Sword with one Arm, Super Zord's Body had begun to gradually dissipate. This indicated Peter was At the End of Their Rope.

He didn't have extra Energy to continue maintaining Super Zord's Appearance, so he gathered all the remaining Energy and the Energy used to condense Super Zord onto that Sword.

Surging Willpower turned into Green Light and soared into the Sky, like a Weapon piercing through Dark Clouds. Even in her rage, Cindy knew to avoid such Formidable Power.

"Whoosh!"

Cindy tried to retreat, but found herself held fast. She looked down and found that the Mech Claw on her Waist, which she hadn't had Time to remove, was anchored to the Ground, halting her Action.

"This is the last Cindy." Peter said, while wielding the Weapon. "If this Attack fails, I'll have no other Method."

After saying that, the Weapon that soared into the clouds instantly swung down. Cindy had no extra Stamina to focus on the Mech Claw at this Time. Helplessly, she could only rely on the Sky Hammer again, placing it horizontally in front of her Presence.

The next second, scarlet Light collided with the green Weapon. Peter deliberately chose to bring Cindy here because there were no living Things here, and only here could he output with peace of mind.

"Boom!"

Like two Little Boys detonating, two Powers, red and green, clashed violently. Sometimes the former overwhelmed the latter, and sometimes the latter rode on the former. For a moment, it was impossible to tell who would gain the upper hand.

But soon the red Energy weakened. The Power raised in haste was ultimately no match for Peter's planned Attack. Under Peter's suppression, Cindy's Energy flagged, and she gradually lost ground.

Seize the Opportunity!

Peter bet Everything on himself. He could feel the Pain brought by the consumption of Willpower, but he couldn't care so much anymore. This was likely to be his only Opportunity in this life.

"Crack!"

This faint Sound should have been inaudible to Peter at this Time, yet he heard it clearly.

That was the Sound of the Hammer Shattering!

Chapter 770 Fear Source - Submission

"Hmm?"

The Great Serpent, seated upon the Sea Monster, was initially surprised, then revealed an expression of keen interest. This drew the attention of Malekith, who was in conversation with him.

"What is it, Your Majesty?"

"This is truly unexpected." The Great Serpent stroked his chin. "One of my Hammers actually shattered? No, more than that."

The Great Serpent raised his hand, sensing the surrounding environment. After a brief silence, he spoke again.

"The Fear I'm gaining has decreased? Truly unbelievable!"

Despite the unfavorable situation, the Great Serpent, as the most direct victim, did not show negative emotion, but instead became intrigued.

"Even after you distributed a portion of your power, someone can still destroy a Sky Hammer?"

Malekith revealed a surprised expression, saying, "That is indeed incredible."

"I am the God of Fear." The Great Serpent propped his head with one hand. "Everything related to me is more or less connected to Fear. To shatter them means that person possesses the strength to overcome Fear."

"From this perspective, this person is more like my nemesis than any Asgardian Crown Prince."

"Do you require us to eliminate him for you?" Malekith asked, bowing.

A nemesis of Fear does not mean a nemesis of everything. As a powerful magician, Malekith had witnessed many mystical and mysterious things. Some, like the Great Serpent, were destined to die according to prophecy, while others, though powerful, could be vulnerable if their weakness was discovered.

In the world of magic, everything seemed illogical, yet could be self-explanatory.

"What reason do I have to say no?" The Great Serpent shrugged, while extending his hand behind him.

Loki, who had been standing diagonally behind the Great Serpent, immediately understood. He raised his right hand, and in his palm, a palm-sized red Casket suddenly appeared – the Casket of Ancient Winters.

This was what Loki had taken along when he escaped Odin's Vault. Compared to the indecisive Loki, Skadi, who had embraced the Great Serpent, clearly understood what she needed. As a Frost Giant, with the help of the Casket of Ancient Winters, she could be described as having wings added to a tiger.

Originally, Loki had intended to keep this thing for himself, but now the situation was different from the beginning. They had more allies, more support, and one of their allies needed this thing.

The Great Serpent took the Casket of Ancient Winters from Loki and extended his hand to Laufey, who had come with Malekith.

"The Frost Giants clan's combat power is indeed impressive, but once you leave Jotunheim, your clan struggles to exert one hundred percent of its power. That's why the Casket of Ancient Winters was created."

Laufey understood the Great Serpent's meaning. He stepped forward but did not immediately reach out to take the divine weapon he had dreamed of. Instead, he asked, "Then, what is the price?"

Laufey seemed simple and honest, but he was not foolish. He knew that even as allies, the Great Serpent would not be so kind as to give him the Casket of Ancient Winters. Frost Giants were indeed formidable, but not to the extent of being stronger than Dark Elves, Fire Elementals, and Undead.

"I need you to help me harvest more Fear." The Great Serpent revealed a dangerous smile. His left hand made a casual gesture towards the empty direction, and a hammer with sharp edges and corners immediately emerged from the depths of the sea.

"You want Laufey to submit?" Laufey's expression darkened.

"Rest assured, I will not seize your consciousness. This is just a small help from me to my ally."

Laufey obviously did not believe the Great Serpent's words. After all, control over him was equivalent to control over the entire Frost Giants race. He did not want to entrust the fate of his entire race to another.

The Great Serpent seemed to see through Laufey's thoughts and continued, "Rest assured, I have no interest in anything outside of Asgard. Besides, if I really wanted to attack your clan, do you think you could resist?"

The Great Serpent shifted to a more relaxed sitting position, indicating that he did not take either of the two in his presence seriously.

"I can completely have Skadi kill you and then let her rightfully ascend to the throne of the Frost Giants. Don't forget, she is your flesh and blood, and she has the legitimate right of inheritance."

Laufey fell into silence. The Great Serpent was right. As long as he still coveted benefit, he had no qualification to bargain with him. The Casket of Ancient Winters was essential for the Frost Giants. For the sake of the entire clan, he had to retrieve it.

"I agree." Laufey said, extending his right hand and grasping the Sky Hammer standing before him.

In the next second, purple energy enveloped Laufey's entire body. When he reappeared, he had completely changed his appearance.

The original Laufey was still flesh and blood, but now he could be truly called a Frost Giant. His entire body was composed of crystal-like ice, covered in sharp, angular ice thorns, looking exceptionally sharp.

Laufey examined his own changes. He could feel power constantly surging within his body. He was now even twice as powerful as he was in Jotunheim.

"See, it's not that difficult, is it?" The Great Serpent smiled and tossed the Casket of Ancient Winters to Laufey, making this divine weapon seem to have lost all respect.

Value is defined by the individual. It is a very subjective thing. In Laufey's view, the divine weapon he could risk his life to obtain was insignificant in the Great Serpent's eyes.

Laufey quickly reached out and caught the Casket of Ancient Winters, fearing that the divine weapon would fall into the sea.

"In that case, Laufey will first go and kill the guy who damaged one of your Hammers."

Laufey stuffed the Casket of Ancient Winters into his chest. He now not only looked like an ice sculpture, but was also similar to ice in nature. In this state, he had lost many characteristics of a creature, and no organ could be seen inside his body.

This allowed him to directly place many things inside his body, so he would not worry about the divine weapon being stolen by others.

"No need to rush. Others can do that business. I have another business to entrust to you."

The Great Serpent smiled wickedly, explaining under Laufey's puzzled expression.

"Apart from the Sky Hammer that was shattered, there are still seven Sky Hammers left in Midgard. Currently, only one Sky Hammer does not have a user. I have a feeling that the holder of that Sky Hammer is heading somewhere, but he should be encountering some difficulties."

The Great Serpent flicked his finger, and a purple light spot instantly entered Laufey's head, so fast that neither Laufey himself nor Malekith beside him reacted.

In an instant, many things that Laufey did not originally know flooded into his brain, such as the positions of the remaining Sky Hammers and who their holders were.

"This message could have been known to you when you grasped the Sky Hammer, but I guessed you would misunderstand that I was trying to control you, so I am now informing you in this way."
