Chapter 378 - 656-670

The Blue Lantern Ring representing Hope was born in a small Pocket Universe in such a muddled way.

Yang Le didn't need to intervene in the birth process of the Blue Lantern Ring, and he didn't even need to worry about the subsequent Energy supply, because Franklin himself could continuously supply various forms of Energy.

Now that Franklin understood the composition of the Emotional Spectrum, he himself had become a walking Lantern Battery. If the Blue Lantern Corps were to be established, Franklin's Status would become unshakable, truly a one-man corps.

However, achieving this Goal is also very difficult, because the Blue Lantern Ring's selection of Members is very strict. Only those who hold strong Hope in their Heart and can actually influence others can be chosen by the Blue Lantern.

Moreover, if the person chosen by the Blue Lantern Ring loses Hope even for a moment and wavers, the Blue Lantern Ring will abandon the wearer without hesitation. It can be said to be strict to an outrageous degree.

Furthermore, the Blue Lantern Ring does not have very strong Combat Power. The Blue Lantern Ring is better at influencing others, acting as a support Character, capable of applying positive buffs to most people, including the Lantern Corps, except for the Yellow Lantern Ring.

The Blue Lantern Ring and the Yellow Lantern Ring are in a relationship of mutual restraint because the Blue Lantern can eliminate the Fear released by the Yellow Lantern.

Interestingly, for the Green Lantern Ring, which is also in a relationship of mutual restraint with the Yellow Lantern Ring, the Blue Lantern Ring is an excellent Partner.

With the blessing of the Blue Lantern Ring, the Energy of the Green Lantern Ring will increase exponentially. Conversely, with the assistance of the Green Lantern Ring, the Blue Lantern Ring can also release powerful Energy to shape attacks.

It is also for this Reason that Yang Le decided that the next ring to be created would be the Green Lantern Ring, which can complement the Blue Lantern Ring.

Although the Green Lantern has a tradition of "three people forming a corps, and the corps being wiped out," the Green Lantern is indeed the most suitable Lantern Corps to be a Subordinate among all the Lantern Corps.

Because its Ability is really too convenient, and the recruitment standard of the Green Lantern Corps is indeed relatively simple in the American Comics World. Basically, any Superheroes, or people with some Status can wear a Green Lantern Ring.

It can even be said that the Green Lantern Corps is the Hufflepuff of the DC Universe, because they are all the same, with a very large number of people.

Yang Le told Valeria his Idea. The latter didn't say much, just operated on the Instrument that originally stored the Lantern Ring for a while, and then the opened Glass Cover closed.

After the Glass Cover closed, two Mechanical arms stretched out from the bottom. The Mechanical arm on the left had only three Fingers, and the one on the right looked like a spray gun.

After a second of pause, the spray gun on the right sprayed towards the Mechanical arm on the left, or more precisely, towards the centermost Finger on the Mechanical arm on the left. The two empty Fingers were constantly flipping and imprinting the Material sprayed on it.

Obviously, this was 3D printing, and the Speed was very fast. In just one minute, the spray gun stopped moving, leaving only the two Fingers of the Mechanical arm on the left working non-stop.

If he hadn't become a Galvan, Yang Le really wouldn't have understood what was going on. The spray gun was indeed 3D printing, first creating the main body with the spray gun, and then the other precision components were installed into the ring by those two slender Mechanical hands.

In a short period of Time, Valeria could achieve preliminary streamlining. Yang Le now needed a stronger adjective than "Genius" to praise Valeria.

Without making the three of them wait too long, after about thirty seconds, a steaming Lantern Ring Blank Form was freshly baked. This is not an exaggeration, the ring was indeed faintly emitting Steam.

"In order to facilitate shaping and installation, the Material for creating the main body of the ring has been heated." Valeria explained, while opening the Barrier of the workbench, reaching out and taking out the ring.

Because she was wearing a Battle Suit under her Lab Coat, Valeria was not affected by the slight Heat emitted by the ring, and her Hand also emitted a burst of cold Qi, cooling down the steaming ring. It should be Mimicry of some Superhuman who uses ice.

Handing the cooled ring to Yang Le, the latter checked it and found that it was almost identical to the previous ring that had become a Blue Lantern Ring, with no difference at all.

"I named this Machine 'Jeweler'." Valeria snapped her Fingers. "Under normal circumstances, 'Jeweler' only needs one minute and thirty-five seconds to create a Lantern Ring, and of course, after a few rounds of Debugging, it can do it even faster."

"It's already very fast, Valeria." Yang Le played with the Lantern Ring Blank Form in his Hand, he almost couldn't put it down. "What is the Material of the Lantern Ring's main body?"

"The Material that constitutes the main body of the Lantern Ring is provided by me and Galactus from the Franklin Universe. It is a Crystalline Material that has not yet been named." Valeria calmly said something that shocked Yang Le.

Franklin saw that Yang Le was a little surprised, and explained with a smile: "I told Galan, and when I said it was to repay the Kindness of the Benefactor who helped our Universe, he disappeared for a while, and when he reappeared, he brought this Material."

He can directly call Galactus' Name, it seems that Franklin and Galactus of their Universe are indeed very familiar.

"The birth of this Lantern Ring has involved the Effort of many people." Valeria looked at the Lantern Ring in Yang Le's Hand with emotion.

"Galactus, my Father, Uncle Doom, Tony Stark, and many others. Without their Help, I wouldn't have been able to create 'Jeweler' in such a short Time, so I said my Merit is very, very small."

"This small ring has almost invested the Power of our entire Universe. Habby, this is our reward for your Kindness."

"This is also proof that we can go further. I dare to guarantee that the Lantern Ring you are holding in your Hand is many times better than the original."

The Fantastic Twins spoke one sentence each, but it made Yang Le feel that the Lantern Ring in his Hand was becoming heavier and heavier. Containing the Essence of a Universe, there is indeed no better Gift than this.

"In that case, the Choice of its Master must be more cautious." Yang Le handed the ring to Franklin. "Little Fu, I Hope you can inject the Will to carry out Hope into it."

Hope and Will are coexistent. Hope without the Will to carry it out is worthless. Therefore, those who have Hope must be accompanied by strong Will and Courage. It was too simple for Franklin, who had just ignited the Blue Lantern, to ignite the Green Lantern representing Will again.

Sure enough, with his Eyes closed again, Franklin ignited the Lantern Ring in his Hand at a Speed even faster than last Time, but unlike last Time, the color that lit up this Time was green.

Green Light representing strong Will and indomitable Courage, lit up in the Marvel Universe for the first Time.

Chapter 667 New Spider-Woman

"Dou dou dou!" The rapid sound of High Heels echoed in the narrow Alley. Perhaps it was because of the echo, but Betty felt her Footsteps becoming more and more hurried.

"Sha!" A discordant Sound. Betty was sure this Sound was not from her High Heels. She subconsciously turned her Head and saw several Black Shadows hanging not far behind her.

Betty's Heart tightened, and she quickened her pace again. This Alley, which she used to walk often, seemed to have become unprecedentedly long.

The several Black Shadows behind her also noticed that Betty had discovered them, and they also quickened their pace. For a Time, the Footsteps in the Alley became chaotic.

Betty panted heavily, taking Heavy Breath. High Heels were not conducive to her running, but fortunately, this Alley was not as long as she thought. In another two or three steps, she would be able to reach the Exit.

However, what made her feel Despair was that just as she was about to rush to the Alley entrance, several more Black Shadows turned in from outside the Alley entrance. In a panic, Betty looked back and found that the people behind her had also slowed down. It was obvious that they were not in a hurry.

Why did those obviously malicious people suddenly become unhurried? Betty could only think of two Answers.

One, the people who suddenly appeared at the Alley entrance were Passerby, and the people behind her did not dare to act rashly after seeing the Passerby.

Two, the people who appeared at the Alley entrance were accomplices of the people behind her. The two groups formed a pincer attack, and Betty could not escape, so they naturally did not need to worry.

Although Betty hoped it was the former, judging from the Expression of the people in front, the Answer should be the latter.

At this point, Betty calmed down instead. She changed her posture to make herself as close to the Wall as possible, then quietly moved her Small Crossbody Bag behind her, blocking the Field of Vision of the two groups of people, and her Hand quietly reached inside.

"Who are you people?" Betty swallowed her Saliva, trying to calm her Sound down. "What exactly do you want to do?"

Neither group answered her Problem, not knowing whether they were afraid of leaving any Evidence or did not want to waste Time.

It seemed that this group of people had premeditated this, and it was not a spur-of-the-moment thing. Seeing this, Betty's Heart had already fallen into an bottomless Abyss, but she was not a weak woman who would sit still and wait for Death. Even if she was injured, she would bite off a few pieces of Flesh.

After the two groups of Black Shadow approached to a sufficient Distance, Betty immediately pulled her Hand out of her Satchel. At this Time, she had an Spray Bottle in her Hand.

"Go to hell!" Betty pressed the Button on the Spray Bottle, and a red mist sprayed out from the Vent. The force was strong, spraying out a Distance of about an arm's length, directly into the Eyes of the leaders of the two groups.

"Ah!" Two screams rang out. Betty threw the Pepper Spray that was almost empty behind her, and then used her Small Crossbody Bag to violently strike the Head of the person blocking her Presence. Then, she threw off her High Heels and ran towards the Alley entrance.

But after all, she was a woman who had not exercised much. The Small Crossbody Bag was not very heavy because it could not hold much, and coupled with insufficient Force, it could not pose any Threat to a strong man at all.

Before the Satchel even hit the Ground, the man had already reached out and grabbed Betty who wanted to escape. Then, more people surged up. Betty just wanted to shout for help when her Mouth was covered.

Betty wanted to open her Mouth to bite, but found that the person covering her Mouth was wearing Gloves. As expected of someone who had premeditated this, the Preparation was complete.

After a bit of biting, the Master of the Hand was fine, but her cheeks began to ache, and her Tooth also began to hurt.

"Woo woo woo!" Betty was in Despair. Her Limbs were firmly Control, and she had no possibility of escape at all. Did she have to rely on a Hero descending from heaven to save her?

"Bang!" After a muffled Sound, Betty felt that the weight pressing down on her had lessened. Then there were more Strange Sound, and then she felt that the people surrounding her were gone.

"You can open your Eyes, madam." A deliberately faked low voice, the sticky Bubble Sound could not hide the original crispness of the voice. It sounded like a Little Girl was deliberately pretending to be serious.

Betty opened her Eyes. The thugs were all gone, and she only saw a petite Figure standing in her Presence. The black Tight Suit set off the Master's Cute Figure. Even the white Spiderweb Lines printed on it could not add a trace of sexiness. The upper and lower Body were separated by a strange Belt.

Under the black Hood was an equally black Face. If it were not for the pair of white Visor, Betty would not even be able to tell whether the other person was facing her or facing away from her.

"You... what are you again?" Betty asked tremblingly. Even she did not expect this Sound to be coming from her.

"You can call me Spider-Woman. Of course, this is just a temporary Code Name. I haven't thought of a real Name yet." Spider-Woman put one Hand on her Waist, and her gestures were quite lively. Just based on this, Betty could infer that the other person was a Little Girl.

"In short, I just debuted today, and you are my first client. How about it? Do you want me to give you an Autograph? Maybe it will appreciate in value in the future?" Looking at the Little Girl who was trying to hide her excitement, Betty couldn't help but feel a little amused. She tidied up her messy Clothes and said.

"Shouldn't Superheroes hide their Identity? If you give me an Autograph, aren't you afraid of exposing yourself because of your handwriting? Especially during this Time." Betty tidied her shoulder-length short hair and said, leaning against the Wall, "I remember that the Superhuman Registry that was announced shouldn't have you on it. Rather, if you had Registered, there would be no need to wear a mask."

Spider-Woman's Body stiffened, and even her Visor seemed to widen a bit. She said in a Shock tone, "You're not going to report me, are you? Is this how you treat your Benefactor?"

"I won't do such a tasteless Business, but I have to say, Little Girl, you are full of Weakness." Betty picked up the Satchel from the Ground, took out a Cigarette and Lighter from it, lit one, and then continued.

"The Belt you are wearing around your Waist is one of Parker Industries' Product. Its characteristic is that it can be attached to many pre-configured Gadget. Unfortunately, I am one of the directors of Parker Industries." Betty took a puff of Cigarette, exhaled it, and continued, "Although I am not the director of the Invention group, I have heard a little about these things that can make Money. Just based on these, I can actually deduce your Identity."

Betty leaned down, looked at Spider-Woman with a playful Gaze, took the other person's Hand, and gently wrote a Name on Spider-Woman's Palm with her Finger. "Cindy."

Spider-Woman seemed to have been drained of all her Strength. She was Silence for a while before reluctantly saying in a muffled voice. "As expected of you. Sister Betty, I think I know why so many people are afraid of you."

"If you are not a little powerful, how can you make Parker Industries improve day by day?" Betty held the Cigarette in her Mouth, revealing a charming Smile. Combined with her tattered Clothes, there was a different kind of beauty.

Chapter 668: Night Tour is Dangerous

"Tell me, how much stuff did you take?"

Betty took another drag, then stubbed out the Cigarette Butt against the Wall beside her.

Cindy didn't say anything, just spread her Hands and spun around, but her meaning was clear.

"It's everywhere, isn't it?" Betty covered her Forehead. "If I tell Mr. Parker about this, how long do you think you'll be grounded for?"

"Please don't, Betty." Cindy quickly stepped forward, hugged Betty's Arm, and shook it. "I'm doing good Things, you know. If it wasn't for me today, you would have been in Danger."

"That's true." Betty sighed. Threatening her Benefactor right after being saved, only a real Beast would do something like that.

But what Cindy was doing now was indeed very dangerous. She and Peter are Childhood Sweethearts, and Cindy is practically like a little sister to her, having watched her grow up.

Letting her sister become a street Masked Hero? No normal Parents would agree to such a dangerous Thing, right?

"You have to come Home with me." Betty thought it over and finally decided to act like a responsible adult. "This is too dangerous, Cindy. You don't know what you're getting into."

"I know, and I think I have the Power to do it."

Cindy said, walking towards the Wall beside her. To Betty's Shock, she walked up the Wall perpendicular to the Ground as if it were flat Ground.

"I haven't heard of Parker Industries inventing Technology like this." Betty murmured.

"This isn't my family's Invention." Cindy said, extending her Right Hand to Betty and making a rock-on Gesture. Then, a white Web shot out from her Wrist.

The Web was incredibly fast. Before Betty could react, it stuck to her. Then she felt a huge Pulling Force, and unable to resist, she was immediately yanked over.

"Ahhh! - Mmph!"

Just as Betty was about to yell, Cindy clapped a Hand over her mouth. Cindy gestured for silence, then put her Left Hand around Betty and shot another Web with her Right Hand, pulling them both towards the Rooftop.

After a mid-air Rotation to kill their momentum, Cindy landed lightly on the Rooftop with Betty in her Arms, without making a Sound.

"Woohoo!" Cindy cheered softly. "This is one of the Reasons I want to be a Street Hero, isn't it awesome?"

Betty gripped Cindy's Arm tightly. After a moment, she gritted her Teeth and said, "I am never doing that again."

Ignoring Cindy's "Why?" Ask, Betty stumbled towards the Rooftop Passage, then leaned against the Wall and sat on the Ground.

Pulling out a Cigarette, lighting it, and taking a drag, Betty slowly exhaled Smoke and said, "You have Superpower, right, Cindy?"

"Huh?" Cindy tilted her Head. "You just mentioned the Superhuman Registration Act, I thought you already figured it out."

"Figured out what, Ghost?!" Betty gritted her Silver Teeth and glared at Cindy. "When I mentioned the Registration Act, I hadn't recognized you yet, so I said that to keep you from attacking me. After I realized it was you, I thought you were using Parker Industries Technology to do all that."

Spider-Woman, having given herself away, scratched her Head. Taking off her Mask, she gave an embarrassed, honest Smile.

"Never mind." Betty rubbed her Head. "Your Business is Peter's problem now. I'm handing you over to Peter, and that's final!"

"Uh-oh." Cindy chuckled sheepishly. "Actually, my older brother, Peter, knows about this."

The Hand holding the Cigarette trembled slightly. Betty felt Fire erupt from her Heart straight to her Forehead.

"Take me to that four-eyes right now!"

Watching Betty lay into her older brother, Spider-Woman Cindy was so intimidated by Betty's Aura that she stood ramrod straight. Maybe she should take this chance to sneak away.

Having made up her mind, Cindy quietly slipped towards the Skylight while neither of them were paying attention.

They were currently in the heart of Parker Industries, on the Rooftop of Parker Tower. After Peter took over, this place had been set up as his personal Laboratory. As for his Parents, they and Uncle Norman were staying long-term at Norman Tower.

Norman Chemistry and Parker Industries had always been Brothers Companies, ever since the day they were founded. Though their Research focused on different areas, both Norman Osborn and Richard Parker were rare talents.

So the two Companies had always been complementary. Recently, the focus had shifted to Norman Chemistry, so Richard Parker had moved over there, a perfect opportunity to give Peter some experience.

Who would have thought that as soon as her father left, Peter would turn his sister into a Super Hero? Betty was furious with Peter because of this whole Business.

Peter was definitely taken aback at first. He hadn't expected Cindy to bring someone back, especially someone as familiar as Betty Brant.

This one-two punch completely stunned Peter, allowing Betty to seize the Initiative. It wasn't until she threatened to Tattletale to his Dad that Peter snapped to attention.

"Wait, Betty!" Peter stopped Betty from pulling out her Mobile phone with the fastest Speed he'd ever moved. "You have to at least give me a chance for an Explanation, right?"

"Fine, let's see what kind of song and dance you'll give me." Betty swatted Parker's Hand away, then sat down in a Chair to hear his Explanation.

"Alright." Peter sighed. "So, the Thing is…"

The Judge waited for the defendant's statement, but neither of them noticed that the Culprit had already vanished.

"Swish!"

Cindy shot out a Web, using the thumb-thick white Rope to swing through the night Air. It wasn't true Flight, but the thrill was close enough.

"I really don't get what all the fuss is about." Cindy muttered to herself, not even realizing that ever since she got her Superpower, she'd been talking to herself whenever she was alone, and it was happening more and more.

"It's just being a Street Hero, right? I know my Measure, okay? Besides, I saved her life."

Cindy hadn't been that hung up on being a Superhero. At first, she just wanted to copy that predecessor with Spider Ability, even imitating their Battle Suit.

But after seeing someone close to her get attacked today, she felt even more strongly that she should contribute her Strength. Maybe if she just put in the Effort, she could prevent someone from getting hurt.

But on her first day as a Superhero, she got Reported by her very first customer. It was a real blow to her Confidence.

(End of Chapter)

Chapter 669 Another Cindy

Her brain was filled with all sorts of depressing things. Cindy, a little girl of her age, just liked to overthink, and coupled with her malfunction of talking to herself, it didn't take long for the little one to get very irritable.

Cindy really wanted to shout to vent her irritability, but she was also very afraid that her sound would attract the attention of the high-level residents, and it wouldn't be fun if those Sentinel robots were attracted.

Cindy could only sigh, and then continued to swing forward aimlessly. She felt that she needed a senior to help her solve her problems now. The Ghost-Spider she imitated was very good, but Cindy hadn't seen her since the New York Fall Event.

"Mmm!"

Cindy suddenly felt a tremor in her brain. This feeling was the first time she had encountered it, as if someone was stimulating her brain with electric current, different but it made her feel a hundred times more energetic.

This strange stimulation almost made Cindy lose her grip on the web in her hand. Fortunately, with superpower, her reaction was quick and her strength was great, otherwise she might have really lost her grip and fallen.

"What is this feeling?"

Cindy was a little puzzled. This sudden feeling made her afraid to swing on web. She was already considering whether to find a penthouse to walk down and then take a car home.

"Buzz!"

Cindy's body stiffened in the air, and a stronger stimulation slammed into her brain. This head-on stimulation cleared all the distracting thoughts in her brain, and even before Cindy could react...

Her body had already begun to move.

Her right hand gripped the web that was holding her in the air, and Cindy's left hand autonomously stretched out to the front left. A web shot out from her wrist and stuck to the nearest building.

The moment the web touched the building, Cindy's left hand had already begun to exert strength, using great strength to pull herself towards that building.

At this time, she was like an arrow shot from a bowstring, turning into an afterimage in the air. With this speed, Cindy was able to dodge the attack of the black shadow behind her.

'What was that?'

Cindy turned her head and only saw a black shadow. After possessing superpower, her dynamic vision had reached an unbelievable level. Even bullets, she could see the trajectory of its movement clearly.

But at this time, she couldn't even see clearly the black shadow attacking her from behind. This meant that the other party's speed was at least above the bullet shot from a handgun, which was a bit fear-inducing.

'It's a superhuman.' Cindy made a judgment. 'But why? Who is he? And why is he attacking me?'

Cindy didn't have time to think too much because the black shadow behind her had made a new move.

It could be seen that the black shadow's attack missed, and since he had no leverage point in the air, he naturally began to fall. But just as gravity was about to take over, a white web shot out from the black shadow's body.

Cindy was shocked, not because of the web shot by the other party. After all, her web was made in imitation of Ghost-Spider. What really made her surprise was the other party's appearance. That appearance was simply too familiar to Cindy.

Black hair, a pretty face, that face she saw almost every day. That was her face, Cindy Parker's face.

"WTF!"

The excessive shock caused Cindy's brain to go blank for a moment, but her physical body still made her subconsciously utter swear words to express her shock.

Cindy Parker understood for the first time what the so-called uncanny valley effect meant. She didn't know if this thing could be used here, but anyway, she was really in fear now. No horror movie could achieve the current effect.

She couldn't afford to think too much, another Cindy had already started the next attack.

Cindy B, who took the lead in launching the attack, used the web she shot out to stop her fall. She obviously didn't want to stop there, so instead of stabilizing her body, she used the power of gravity.

Constantly falling, she stretched the elastic web. After the web was stretched to a certain length, it launched her out like a slingshot launching a projectile.

Cindy B, who used external power, was obviously faster than Cindy A, who was just running away. Before the latter could land on the rooftop, the former had already caught up.

"Buzz!"

That feeling came again. Cindy A understood that her brain was reminding her that she was about to receive an attack, but even though she wanted to counterattack, she didn't know what she should do at all.

In the end, she was just a pampered young lady who had practiced some karate, but those things, if not practiced to perfection, were just fancy moves, not enough to support her in completing a decent counterattack.

'Maybe I should kick?'

This idea just appeared, and Cindy's leg had already moved. By the time she reacted, her leg had already stretched out towards Cindy B who was attacking her.

Who knew that the other party didn't dodge or avoid, and bumped into her leg head-on. Just when Cindy A thought that her kick would succeed, Cindy B taught her a lesson.

Cindy B stretched her hands forward, and before her body made contact with Cindy A's foot, she placed her hand on the instep of the other party's foot. Using her shoulder as the axis and exerting strength from her waist, Cindy B flipped over Cindy A's kick like a gymnast, cleanly and neatly.

Without stopping the momentum of the flip, Cindy B completed a 360-degree aerial flip in front of Cindy A, and then used her strong legs to choke Cindy A's neck.

Just like that, as the two landed, Cindy A was not only firmly straddled by Cindy B, but also solidly bore the landing damage of the two superimposed together.

The impact plus friction, Cindy A only felt a burning pain in her back. This pain almost made the pampered her cry. Although she gritted her teeth and held on, her tear glands still failed.

"Don't rush, Sweetheart." Cindy B quickly shot out two webs, one after the other, controlling Cindy A's hands and legs. "I don't know why your strength has declined, but this is indeed a good opportunity for me."

"You, who the hell are you?" Cindy A regretted opening her mouth a little, because she could hear the crying tone in her voice herself, which was really too embarrassing.

Just now, she swore in front of Betty that she would become a superheroes, but now she was beaten to tears by an unknown person who had the same face as her. If this got out, she would definitely die of shame.

"Are you crying?" Cindy B's pupils shrank, as if in great shock.

"I'm not!" Cindy A stubbornly denied.

Cindy B heard the crying tone of the little girl under her butt. She couldn't help but frown, and then reached out and tore off Cindy A's mask.

With the mask taken away, Cindy A only felt as if her clothes had been stripped off. Her face must be extremely ugly now, and she must never let her opponent see her current appearance.

She wanted to turn her head, but Cindy B pinched her face and she couldn't move at all.

Looking at that face that was almost identical to her own, both Cindy felt an indescribable feeling in their hearts.

"This is a bit beyond my expectations."

Cindy B sighed.

(End of Chapter)

After a period of earnest explanation, Peter finally explained the cause and effect of the matter clearly to Betty.

Betty finally believed that Peter hadn't gone mad and turned her sister into some Superhuman. All of this stemmed from the recent New York Fall Event.

"I'm doing this to help Cindy figure out the changes happening to her." Peter placed a beaker in front of Cindy to serve as an ashtray. "The recent New York Event is clearly not simple. The Military is shirking responsibility, the Government is trying to cover things up, and even the Superhumans are in chaos."

"In the current situation, we can't trust anyone." Peter leaned back in his chair, Howard Stark's advice from not long ago unconsciously surfacing in his brain.

"For Cindy's sake, we must figure out whether the changes happening to her are good or bad. I don't want to be completely clueless when something really happens."

"What does this have to do with you making Cindy wear that tight suit?" Betty asked after extinguishing her cigarette butt.

"To find out the truth of all this, we must first go to the source of it all." Peter tapped his toe on the ground, slightly moving his swivel chair and revealing the computer screen behind him.

Betty understood and leaned forward to look at the screen. The screen displayed a map, and after careful identification, Betty realized it was New York before the Fall.

"According to multiple eyewitness accounts and subsequent speculation, the shockwave that turned Cindy into a Superhuman originated near the center of New York. Based on my deduction, it should have occurred in Manhattan or the surrounding districts."

As Peter explained, the map on the screen also marked several red dots. These red dots were the places he deduced as possible sources of the shockwave.

"At the same time, these areas are now under control by Hyperion of the Squadron Supreme. Ordinary methods won't work to get in."

Betty nodded. Everyone could see the towering tree walls. Cars definitely couldn't get in, and aircraft were too conspicuous. Coupled with the Sentinel robots and some mutants guarding the area, ordinary humans indeed had no way to enter.

"So, even though I'm reluctant, the only method we have right now is to rely on Cindy's superpower to sneak in."

Peter spread his hands and said in a helpless tone, "Believe me, Betty, my concern for Cindy is no less than yours. If it weren't absolutely necessary, I would never put her in danger."

"To ensure her safety, I've done my best to perfect her uniform. Tonight will be our first experiment."

"What were the experiment results?" Betty asked.

"I don't know yet." Peter sighed. "To avoid being detected by Sentinel robots, I didn't put too many electronic devices on the uniform, not even a communication device. But that's only temporary. Once I research equipment that can counter Sentinel robot detection, it'll be better."

"Now, to know the specific data of the uniform, we can only wait for Cindy to tell me."

Peter turned his head to look at where Cindy had been sitting, only to realize that the source of their argument had long disappeared. She probably slipped away quietly while he was explaining things to Betty.

"So, could you please not talk about this?" Peter scratched his head, wondering how to persuade Betty.

Unexpectedly, Betty directly said, "Okay, I promise you."

"Really?" Peter was overjoyed. "Thank you so much, Betty!"

"Don't be happy too soon." Betty rolled her eyes. "I have a condition. Let me join in too."

"What? Why?" Peter looked at Betty with puzzlement.

Betty didn't say a word, just placed the belt she had taken off Cindy on the table, and then showed Peter the side with the Parker Industries symbol. The latter immediately understood what she meant.

"If I let someone as careless as you assist Cindy, I think you'll only leave a bunch of weaknesses. I finally managed to get to the position of supervisor at Parker Industries. The salary and benefits here are good, and I don't want to lose everything and start over."

Although Betty's words were very mercenary, Peter knew that her real intention wasn't this. If she was simply after money, there were a thousand ways to make a profit from this matter.

Not to mention, as long as Betty pretended not to recognize Cindy and then reported her the next day, she could get a considerable bonus, and no one would know she did it. She could continue to go to work as usual.

She could even take this scandal and switch to Parker Industries' competitor. In this critical situation, Superhumans are indeed a good point of attack. If handled properly, it could cause Parker Industries' stock market to plummet.

And Betty, who brought this inside news, would naturally be able to make a lot of profit from this matter. At the very least, she could switch to another company as a supervisor, and further advancement wasn't impossible either.

But Betty chose the worst option. Not only did she not get any benefit, but she even had to bear the risk of being punished if discovered to help them. Ordinary friends couldn't do this.

"Thank you so much, Betty." Peter stood up and grasped Betty's hand.

The latter didn't expect Peter's reaction to be so big. She was stunned for a moment, her face slightly flushed, and she pulled her hand back, saying with a smug look.

"Don't misunderstand. I'm doing this all to help Cindy. You know, I watched her grow up too. To me, she's no different from my own sister. I don't want to let a careless guy like you assist her."

"Yes, yes, yes!" Peter was all smiles. Say whatever you want, as long as Cindy's business isn't exposed.

Betty saw his silly look, shook her head with amusement, tidied her hair, and asked, "Where's Cindy? Where did this little guy run off to?"

Peter was about to reply when the skylight of the laboratory opened first. Normally, that skylight couldn't be opened, but to facilitate Cindy's entry and exit, Peter had modified it to be openable.

The sound of the skylight opening attracted the attention of the two. Turning their heads, they found that the person who came was Cindy, whom they had been talking about. It seemed she had just returned from a drive outside.

"Where did you go, Cindy? Betty and I have been discussing things about you." Peter put on a stern face, his feigned seriousness making Betty laugh. She knew Peter was just pretending and also knew that he had never had much majesty in Cindy's eyes.

Cindy glanced at Peter, then said with a normal expression, "I just went for a drive."

Peter wanted to say a few more words, but then he noticed some damage on Cindy's uniform, with small tears even appearing in some places. He hurriedly asked.

"How did your battle suit get damaged? Are you injured, Cindy?"
