Hi! This… Mister?
As Karn looked up, he also closed his Necklace. Actually, he had noticed someone approaching him long ago. The reason he didn't react was because he was a Celestial Energy Mage. The prerequisite to damage him was to first overcome those Defensive Magic spells that were effective 24 hours a day.
Looking at Susan and the others who were a little uneasy, Karn was silent for a while before asking.
"Karn, my name."
"Okay, Mr. Karn." Susan nodded. "We are very grateful to you for helping us solve the enemy and for healing Reed's injury. By the way, do we need to introduce ourselves?"
"No need." Karn refused and put the Necklace back into the pocket of his upper clothes. "The great Supreme Celestial has already told me your message. I don't think we need to waste time talking nonsense."
In fact, the reason why Karn knew Reed and others was because he had fought with many other superheroes when he was hunting Spider-Man. He naturally knew them after a long time.
But obviously, he couldn't say that at this time. Karn couldn't say: Hey brothers, I know all of you, do you know why? Because I have killed you several times.
"Okay, that saves a lot of business." Johnny shrugged. "It just gives me a creepy feeling of being stalked. The God you believe in won't be spying on us all the time, right?"
"Johnny!" Susan glared at her younger brother. The latter's words were enough to arouse the hostility of a fanatic. If possible, Susan really didn't want to turn potential friends into enemies, especially when the other party was strong and her side was weak.
"If Supreme Celestial is willing, He can know everything He wants to know." Karn was not angry because of Johnny's words. Ignorance is bliss, and he could see what kind of personality the young guy in front of him was.
Johnny was very much like a playboy who idled around, but at the same time, he had his own persistence. He could be considered a rare good young man. The offense on his mouth did not represent the disrespect in his heart. He was just a bit mouthy.
But Karn still reminded Johnny that this time could be regarded as his ignorance, and if there was another time, Karn would not hesitate to initiate a duel against him and swear to defend his faith.
Johnny was not the kind of person who stubbornly sticks to his respect. He apologized very simply. In this nation composed of immigrants, faith is a very complex and serious problem. As a native American, he naturally understood these problems. It was not his style to be unreasonable and stubborn when he knew he was wrong.
The little episode passed without any danger, and the quiet atmosphere also allowed Reed to find an opportunity to ask, and also took the opportunity to save everyone who was in an awkward situation.
Sometimes it is like this, even if both superheroes apologize to each other, both the parties at the center of the problem and the onlookers will feel embarrassed. It is estimated that only the more reason-minded Reed can open his mouth expressionlessly.
"Excuse me, Mr. Karn." Reed walked over with Ben's support. "I want to know some problems about the God you believe in. I wonder if it's offensive."
"Yes." Karn nodded. "Answering some doubts is also one of the missions of my trip."
This sentence made Reed's brow furrow even deeper because the question marks in his head became more numerous.
"I want to know what kind of existence the God you believe in is, and why He wants to help us?"
Although there were many problems, Reed still planned to start with the most basic problems, at least now he was still skeptical of a being who claimed to be a God.
Don't misunderstand, Reed doesn't disbelieve in the existence of Gods, but in his opinion, Gods are more like some superhumans with strength, just like the miracles described in the mythology that humans have passed down since ancient times, today's superhumans can also do it.
So Reed felt that this so-called Supreme Celestial might just be a powerful superhuman. If possible, Reed still wanted to meet this Supreme Celestial. The other party's continuous goodwill might be wanting to cooperate with him.
Reed also had this idea. He wanted to use the power of this Supreme Celestial to get himself and others out of the New York Ruins. No one wanted to stay in this godforsaken aspect.
Reed hadn't seen the various beakers and instruments in the laboratory for several days, and now he felt like ants were crawling all over his body.
Karn was silent for a while, probably considering how to speak. After about ten seconds, he continued to speak.
"The God I serve, Supreme Celestial, is a Dimension Demon God…"
It took a few minutes for Karn to introduce the setting of the persona that Yang Le had set for him in detail to Reed and others, so that they had a clear awareness of this God named Supreme Celestial.
Independent space outside the universe, it sounds like some pocket universe lifeform.
Reed also used his own awareness to label the Dimension Demon God, while Karn continued to answer his problem.
"As for why I want to help you, it's because of the crisis from outside the universe." Karn's tone became serious.
"Crisis outside the universe?" Johnny scratched his head. "Sounds far away."
"It can be far away, or it can be very close." Karn didn't mind Johnny interrupting him but patiently continued to explain.
"For example, your previous enemy Serpent Gang, the real mastermind controlling those guys is a Viper entrenched beyond the multiverse. His name is Set, and He is the power source of everyone in the Serpent Gang."
"That Snake Staff?" Reed frowned and asked tentatively. To say that the most concerning thing just now was indeed the weird Snake Staff. Even if you were not careful, it would be difficult not to notice the Snake Staff with a strong sense of existence.
"That is exactly the black magic item that Set sent to various universes, and it is also the sustenance of His power, but now it has been destroyed."
Karn nodded. It was his Harpoon that had just smashed Set's Snake Staff. Without the Snake Staff, the weak Set should not even think about getting involved in this universe.
"Then isn't the Crisis Outside the Universe solved?" Johnny asked, spreading his hand.
"If only it were that simple." Karn shook his head. "The enemies peeping at this universe are more than just Set. In the future, there will only be more and more crises coming to your door, such as other Dimension Demon Gods."
"Excuse me, interrupt me." Ben raised his hand to signal. "Isn't the Supreme Celestial you believe in also a member of the Dimension Demon Gods? Then why do you want to help us?"
"This is exactly what I'm going to say next." Karn raised his hand to signal Ben not to worry.
"There are bad people and good people in this world, and the Dimension Demon Gods are the same. There are Evil Gods like Hell Lord, and there are also Benevolent Gods like the Supreme Celestial I serve. The balance of good and evil allows countless Multiverses to operate, otherwise we would have been destroyed long ago."
Reed nodded, temporarily acknowledging Karn's explanation, but he did not completely believe the other party.
The balance of good and evil is indeed a good explanation that can justify itself, even Reed cannot find a weakness in it in a short time.
However, this does not mean Reed believes Karn's setting output. Trust is something that needs a long time to accumulate. His friendship with Ben and others came about in this way, but recently his feeling with Susan has deteriorated a little.
But this is not important. Reed means that they cannot see what kind of person Karn is in a short time, but time will give them the answer. The current problem is just to give him a preliminary impression of this suddenly appearing mysterious guy.
Obviously, Reed and others still have many problems, but talking in the open air is obviously not a good choice, and even if Reed is excluded, others have been injured to some extent.
Now, compared to talking at length, obviously going back to rest is the best choice. So Reed asked Karn if he would suggest going to the Sanctum with them first.
Karn readily agreed. He came with the idea of a long-term business trip this time. After all, the mission Yang Le gave him was not urgent, so he naturally didn't mind spending some more time.
"What about those Serpent Gang guys?" Johnny pointed to the other leaders lying unconscious on the ground. "What should we do with them?"
Reed looked at Karn. Since these guys' power comes from a deity, then obviously the latter is the expert to deal with them. In unfamiliar fields, it is still necessary to listen to the expert's advice.
"Just leave them here." Karn's answer was unexpected by everyone. "Losing the Snake Staff as an anchor point, these guys' power will only become weaker and weaker. After all, they are not directly chosen people. When the leader guys are dead, they will no longer be a threat."
Reed and others could not see it, but in Karn's perspective, the power of these Serpent Gang leaders was gradually dissipating. These leaders are like a car leaking oil, and they will stop running soon.
Reed and others accepted Karn's suggestion with skepticism, but Reed still kept a watchful eye. He planned to find time to let Tyrone come back and see, so that he could confirm whether Karn's words were credible.
In this way, Reed and his party not only won a complete victory in this battle and did not lose a single human, but also gained one more human on their way back. It was considered a little stronger than a complete victory.
…
Throwing work that belongs to oneself to others is a matter that tests conscience. At least Yang Le was a little guilty when he did this for the first time, but he doesn't have it now.
Why effort when you can slack off? This is Yang Le's current idea. After fighting on the battlefield for so many years, isn't he allowed to enjoy himself?
Compared to the laborious newbie guidance, Yang Le still prefers to be the kind of person who controls the overall situation. Besides, with Karn helping Reed and others, he can also rest assured.
You need to know that although Karn has lost most of his Totem Power, his strength has not only not decreased but has actually increased. This is all thanks to Yang Le's Celestial Energy Magic.
Karn, who was taken as an Envoy by the Supreme Celestial, now has strength at least several times greater than before, because he can now not only rely on his own power but also borrow power from his superior.
In other words, Karn's limit now depends entirely on the Supreme Celestial's power. To put it bluntly, the stronger Yang Le, his Master, is, the stronger Karn himself will be, and not only Dimension Demon Gods are like this, but other Envoys are also like this.
The strength of Envoys depends entirely on how strong the Older Brother standing behind them is. For example, Silver Surfer, the Envoy of Planet Devourer, Captain Universe, the Envoy of Eternity, and Juggernaut, the Envoy of Cyttorak, the Master of the Crimson Domain.
Eternity aside, after all, that is considered an outlier level. According to Yang Le's estimation, Karn's strength should be comparable to Silver Surfer, and dealing with Juggernaut is even less of a problem.
However, this strength level is not absolute. Although the limit of Envoys' strength depends on their Master, their lower limit depends on themselves. After all, there are also embarrassing Captain Universes.
But Karn is a guy who can be trusted, because he is the only human in the Inheritors Family who has never experienced death in his long hunting career. After all, the other Inheritors in the Inheritors Family look down on him and did not keep his Gene Backup at all, so naturally there is no way to revive him.
But this harsh battle environment has greatly strengthened Karn's strength. Precisely because he has only one life, Karn never becomes arrogant. His skills are all honed from mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
In Yang Le's view, Karn is actually the strongest one in the Inheritors Family. Those cheaters who have countless lives after entering cheat codes are simply incomparable to him. This is the confidence brought to him by one-life clear.
With random thoughts in his brain, Yang Le carried a bag of takeout and slowly walked towards the direction of Gwenpool Base. After being busy for many days, he could finally take a rest.
Although the problems of SHIELD and Hydra have not been resolved yet, this matter is obviously not urgent. There is no need to push oneself too hard. Maybe clues will come to his door when he doesn't care.
Moreover, Valeria and Franklin will be coming over in a while. He should make preparations to properly welcome them and warn Franklin not to use his ability to see the answer in advance. He hates people who draw the murderer in detective novels the most.
This kind of person should be hanged on the cross and shot, of course, with a modern gun.
Walking and walking, Yang Le suddenly found that a crowd of humans had gathered in front of him. They were noisy and seemed to be discussing something. Yang Le looked around and found that the gathered humans were in a circle, probably observing something.
Although too much curiosity will kill a cat, Yang Le still adhered to the basic idea of "since I'm already here," and squeezed into the crowd with his trained strong body. Of course, when squeezing, he did not forget to protect his takeout.
Relying on "sorry" and his strong body, Yang Le successfully squeezed into the crowd. He also got his wish to see the excitement he wanted to see. A burly guy with a winged helmet on his head and golden waist-length hair was standing on the hood of a car.
That's right, that human was standing on the hood of a car. According to the damage to the car, it is not difficult to infer that the car should have hit the human while driving at high speed.
Moreover, the guy was not only fine, but also dented the hood of the car. Now the hood of the car has become a perfect U-shaped structure. If you ignore the thick smoke, this car will be a perfect modern art piece.
What surprised Yang Le was not the strong physical strength of the guy in front of him, but the guy's outfit undoubtedly matched a human in his memory, or rather, a god.
Thor.

Chapter 658 Roar! My Hand!
Thor, the Thunder God, the most powerful warrior in Asgard, and also one of the strongest Superheroes in Marvel Comics, his position is equivalent to Superman Clark Kent in the DC Universe.
This is not Yang Le's fabrication. The initial setting of Thor was much more vague than it is now. He was set as a kind, brave, enthusiastic, and adventurous young man.
Blake gained Thor's Power due to some accident. After he tapped the cane disguised as Thor's Hammer, he could transform into Thor. Relying on this powerful Power, he devoted himself to the Hero Career of fighting against Evil forces.
However, after a few years, Thor's setting was finally completed in his Solo Comic. It turned out that Odin, the ruler of Asgard, in order to test his son, deliberately sealed Thor's Memory and fabricated the Identity of a Midgardian named Blake.
The initial Thor was more like Superman with Magic in the Marvel Universe, which was closer to the early Captain Marvel, and the current Shazam, until later he finally formed his own personal characteristics and has continued to this day.
One more point, the early Thor was even more dependent on Thor's Hammer than he is now. At that time, he really had no Power without the Hammer, and could be considered a true God of Hammers.
However, obviously the Thor of Universe 9527 is not this kind of Setting. At least a Thor who has spent a whole night learning Earth knowledge would not land straight in the Middle of the Road.
Yang Le speculated from this that the Thor in front of him must have not been to Earth for at least a hundred years. Compared with a hundred years ago, the Human World has changed too much, which is why he failed to realize that the place he landed was inappropriate.
All of this seemed to have just happened not long ago. Thor scratched his head and pulled himself out of the Car Front. In a few steps, he walked to the Car Door of the driver's seat. The man sitting inside seemed to have Fainted. The other party was burying his Face in the airbag, motionless.
"Ka-la!"
Thor grabbed the Car Door and tore off the Car Door of the driver's seat amidst the Screams of the Crowd, then bent down and carefully hugged out the man who was in critical condition.
After Thor finished all this, he did not continue to make any movements, but carefully scanned the man in his arms, until a burst of noisy Police Siren sounded, he shifted his Line of Sight.
"Put down the man in your arms!"
Several Police Officers quickly drove back the Crowd and approached Thor, while approaching, they did not forget to issue a Warning to Thor.
"Warning once! Put down the man in your arms! Superhuman!"
"I will." Thor was not afraid of the Sidearms drawn by the Police Officers. The Black Hole Gun Muzzle was like nothing to him. "But I think this unlucky Child needs a Doctor more. This is my mistake, and I can be responsible for sending him to the nearest Doctor."
"I'll say it one last time, put down that man!" The Police Officer opened the Safety. "We will take care of the rest! You just need to stand aside!"
"Okay." Thor used one Hand to remove the Cape behind him and spread it on the Ground, and then put the man on it.
This was beyond Yang Le's expectation. The Thor in front of him seemed to be much more calm than he thought. Although Thor is not a Guy who bullies the weak, the temper of this Asgardian Warrior is well known.
Even if he wouldn't make things difficult for these ordinary Police Officers, he would at least not listen to their Order. Yang Le thought Thor would grab a Police Officer and force the other party to take him to the Hospital.
Sure enough, in different Universes, seemingly the same people will have big differences. The Thor of Universe 9527 seems to have the demeanor of an Asgard Crown Prince, not a born Battle Maniac who explodes at the slightest provocation.
After Thor put down the man, he straightened up. The Police Officers who had been on guard then came forward. The Police Officer standing at the front had obvious resentment, and obviously he had some Cleverness.
The Police Officer walking at the front turned off the Safety. What he could not stand the most were these lawless Superhumans. He was going to give this Big and Stupid Guy a little Lesson.
"Back off!"
Normally speaking, this Police Officer should have shouted for Thor to retreat before approaching, but he, who had no good intentions, waited until he reached the Distance where he could reach Thor before shouting, just to give Thor a hard blow.
"Bang!"
The Police Officer slammed Thor hard with his Right Hand holding the Gun. This Guy also played a little Cleverness, deliberately hitting Thor with the butt of the Gun. If this hit was solid, although it would not leave scars, it would definitely hurt like hell.
This Police Officer's calculation was very shrewd. Just pushing Thor away, this could not be considered violent law enforcement. He was just a little anxious because he wanted to protect the Hostage. In addition, with his Partner covering for him, no matter what, he could not be punished.
He might even receive an Award for facing the Superhuman directly, even if it was just verbal praise, it would be enough.
It's a pity that the Ideal is full, but Reality is skinny. What he encountered was not an ordinary Superhuman, but a true God.
"Crack!"
"Roar! My Hand!"
The Partner of the Police Officer didn't have time to understand what happened. He only saw his painful Partner wailing and falling down. When the fallen Police Officer rolled on the Ground, they saw the other party's Hand twisted in a strange Direction.
"Oh ho ho ho~" Yang Le couldn't help covering his Mouth and gasped. "That must be killingly painful."
The other people around watching the excitement also agreed with Yang Le's view, and some even covered their Eyes and dared not look, and quite a few timid people left.
"Serves him right!" Thor frowned and looked at the Police Officer rolling on the Ground. Of course, he saw the intention of this Guy, so he deliberately did not step aside but stood in the Original Place waiting for the other party to attack.
You know, even Giants known for their Strength, few can get Benefit from him, let alone these weak Midgardian Humans who can't Damage him at all.
If this were in other Aspects of the Nine Realms, if he encountered this kind of Guy, Thor would have swung his Fist up long ago, but the Midgardians are too weak, even if he just exhaled, Thor was afraid of blowing them away.
Standing still and taking a beating is already the most cruel punishment he can inflict. It is indeed not a good Choice to entrust his mistake to these people. He should still take the initiative to make amends.
Ignoring the remaining Police's shouts of "you dare to attack the Police", Thor stretched out a Hand and turned into an Afterimage in the Air. After the deafening Gunshot passed, he loosened his Fist as big as a casserole.
Just like in old Movies, the Bullet that was pinched and deformed fell on Thor's Underfoot with a crackling sound. If it weren't for fear that these Physical Ammunition would bounce off after hitting him and Damage others, Thor would not bother to care.
"Now, is there any Champion who can take me to the nearest Doctor?"
(End of Chapter)
Chapter 659 Conflict
Thor shouted loudly, even though there was no equipment to amplify his voice, his powerful voice still reached everyone's ear, even though most of them were screaming and running away at this moment.
But obviously, at this time, no one was willing to lend a helping hand to this unfamiliar God in front of them, because for most people, the preparation for helping others is that they are in a situation of absolute safety themselves.
This is human nature, not because people are indifferent. No one is obligated to risk their life to help others.
Seeing that bullets had no effect, the police began calling for reinforcements. These people kept warning Thor from a distance with words, but not a single one was willing to step forward and pull away their injured partner.
Thor shook his head. He was somewhat disappointed in the Midgardian warrior. At the same time, he was even more worried about his kin who had inherited his brother's Godhood. If the other party grew up in this kind of environment, could he really become a warrior who could stand alone?
At least Thor himself felt that this was impossible. It seemed that he must immediately find that kin and bring him back to Asgard. An Asgardian who grew up in such a poor environment would definitely be a malformed child. As the Crown Prince of Asgard, he had an obligation to cure him.
But before that, Thor must first deal with his mistake. He must take this injured Midgardian to the doctor and have him receive treatment, so as not to damage Asgard's reputation.
After waiting for a while, just as Thor decided to use some drastic measures, a sound interrupted his maneuver.
"Looks like you need some help, sir."
Thor turned his head and happened to see a Midgardian whose appearance was similar to the Gods who lived in Great Luo Heaven. The other party had a well-proportioned figure, and even though his clothes were concealing it, based on his experience, Thor could tell that the other party's body must be strong.
Moreover, the other party's posture was also quite particular. It looked like he should have undergone some training, but Thor couldn't tell the other party's style, after all, he didn't know much about Midgardian business.
But overall, according to Midgardian standards, the other party should be an excellent warrior. Most importantly, the other party had the courage to talk to him.
"Yes, champion," Thor said with a smile. He was never stingy with his good intention towards courageous people, and besides, he did need help from others.
"I need a champion who can guide me, but I am not familiar with everything in this nation. Can you help me find a doctor? The man underfoot needs to receive treatment."
"I think I can help you with this small trouble," Yang Le responded with a smile, but he stretched out his hand again and pointed behind Thor, continuing to say.
"However, you may need to deal with the small trouble that is about to come first."
Thor turned his head back in the direction Yang Le's finger was pointing, and found a strongman wearing a bodysuit walking towards him, while walking, he was also clenching his wrist with a malicious smile.
Obviously, the other party was here to make small trouble. Thor withdrew his smile again and calmly asked the man who was walking over.
"Do you have any business?"
"What business do I have?" The bodysuit strongman laughed loudly. "You're the one who has business, kid. I really don't know where you superhuman came from, but this is America, and here you have to abide by the rules."
"I know I made a mistake, so I am preparing to make amends," Thor said, his expression unchanged in the presence of the other party's mockery. "But your people have been pestering me, and my active cooperation has only resulted in sneak attack and attack."
"What you want to do is none of my farting business," the bodysuit strongman interrupted Thor's words. "Save your words for the judge. I'm only responsible for sending you bastards to meet them."
After the bodysuit strongman finished speaking, he was about to attack, raising his fist and punch towards Thor's face. This sudden sneak attack obviously showed that the bodysuit strongman wanted to decide the outcome with one punch.
Based on the speed at which the other party swung his fist, Thor calculated that this punch was indeed much stronger than those old-fashioned live bullet weapons before, which aroused a trace of interest in him.
If it were peaceful times, Thor wouldn't mind fighting the other party, but at this time, when there was serious business, he obviously couldn't be willful for his own interest.
It's better to make a quick decision, Thor thought, and his body moved accordingly. Although he moved later, he was one step ahead of the bodysuit strongman, and used his right fist to slam into the other party's face.
"Bang!"
Just like hitting a sandbag, the bodysuit strongman who was still full of vigor in the past second was sent flying out in the next second. The crowd didn't even see how the bodysuit strongman flew out. After a loud sound, they only saw the bodysuit strongman fall onto a police car.
The police car let out a metal wail, and then weakly collapsed on the ground surface. This time, even the policeman ran away, including the policeman who fell on the ground clutching his hand and wailing in pain, also quietly crawling forward out of the battle lap.
'Please don't find me, please don't find me!'
With this idea in mind, the policeman crawled little by little in one direction, praying that no one would pay attention to him, but things often don't go as people wish.
Just as Police Officer Sir was about to escape the battle lap, a pair of sneakers suddenly appeared in his presence, and at the same time, a cheerful sound also rang out.
"Police Officer Sir, I see that your hand is also fracture, why don't you let this sir and I take you to the hospital together."
Looking at Yang Le, who had a cheerful smile and was helping him up, the policeman even had the heart to death. Just as he was preparation to burst into curses, Thor, who had finished cleaning up his opponent, happened to walk over.
"I've settled things here, do you have any other business, champion?"
"Me too, sir," Yang Le waved his hand. "But I think this Police Officer Sir is a bit pitiful, why don't we take him along too? I wonder what you think?"
"I don't care," Thor said with no expression. He really didn't care. It's like playing a game. When you are operating a high-level character on the roadside to do a mission, would you pay attention to a low-level wild monster on the roadside?
Obviously not. Not to mention wasting time, even if you defeat it, it won't give you any good stuff. It's better to just go around and save business.
Moreover, Thor himself is also a person with a broad mind, so naturally he wouldn't pay attention to the past maneuver of this policeman. To put it simply, in one sentence, Thor had never paid attention to this policeman from beginning to end, it was just that the aspect unilaterally held hostility towards him.
"Bang bang bang!"
Thor turned his head back and found that the bodysuit strongman who had been knocked down by him just now had stood up again. Although the other party looked very embarrassed and was panting heavy breath, he did indeed stand up.
"That punch was really something," the man grinned.
(End of Chapter)
Chapter 660: The Wondrous Use of Mjolnir
The strong man's rise was unexpected by everyone present. Both Thor, who had thrown the punch, and Yang Le, who was watching the spectacle nearby, were surprised that the strong man could still stand.
It seemed that this strong man's ability was the reason he could stand. Although Yang Le considered himself knowledgeable about many American comic heroes, this strong man was indeed outside his awareness. Therefore, Yang Le had no idea what the other party's ability was.
However, Yang Le speculated that it must be an ability that enhances body durability; otherwise, an ordinary superhuman wouldn't be able to stand after taking a punch from Thor.
However, Yang Le felt it was pointless for the man to stand. Looking at his embarrassed, heavily panting appearance, it was uncertain if he could even throw a punch. Dragging such a body, it was impossible to battle Thor.
Clearly, Thor thought so too and began to advise the man.
"Lie down, warrior. In your current state, you cannot possibly defeat me. Moreover, we have no reason to battle at all."
Thor used his cloak to wrap up the fainted man and tied him to his back. Then, with his other hand, he lifted the injured policeman and carried him on his shoulder.
It was clear he wasn't going to pay any more attention to the strong man. Bullying the wounded person was not something an Asgardian champion should do.
"Stop talking nonsense, your words are as long as your hair." The strong man grinned, revealing his teeth. "I just want to smash the faces of people like you."
"It seems your purpose in upholding justice isn't pure," Thor said, his brow furrowing slightly. "Though I don't know why, it seems you're determined to stop me."
"I said, stop talking nonsense!" The strong man roared, then took a heavy stride towards Thor and rushed over.
Thor looked helplessly at the strong man who seemed to repeatedly hold a grudge against him. The latter's running movements were even stiff. It was obvious that even such a simple movement was a huge burden at this point. Thor even suspected if he might collapse at any moment.
When the strong man sprinted to his side, Thor stepped aside to give way. Then, taking advantage of the man's unstable center of gravity as he planted one foot on the ground, Thor extended a foot to block the strong man's path.
As expected, the strong man's ankle hit Thor's foot. The sudden obstacle caused the strong man to instantly lose balance and fall forward. After rolling a few laps on the ground, he crashed into a roadside car before stopping.
Fragments of the car window slid from his body. The strong man struggled and was still preparing to stand again. His endurance was indeed amazing, but Thor was no longer prepared to continue this stalemate.
"Thump."
A pair of combat boots appeared in his field of vision. The strong man felt a shadow fall over him. It was Thor. He landed lightly in front of the strong man and, under the latter's gaze, placed the hammer in his hand on the strong man's belly.
"Bang!"
The strong man was instantly pressed to the ground. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't move an inch. It was as if a mountain was pressing down on him, but how could such a small hammer have such weight?
Also, even if this hammer was really that heavy, he should have been crushed to death the moment it touched him. But the fact is he wasn't crushed to death. The hammer only pressed a shallow dent into his belly.
Mjolnir, kid. Things made by dwarves are just that magical.
"What is this thing!?" The strong man grasped the hammer handle of Mjolnir, trying his best to pull it off his body, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't do it.
Only those recognized by Mjolnir can easily lift it. It's not impossible to lift it by force, but you'd have to be stronger than Odin, meaning you'd need combat power exceeding Skyfather level.
Of course, some have lifted Mjolnir by seemingly using tricks. For example, Red Hulk lifted Mjolnir in the zero gravity of outer space, and Magneto also lifted the hammer using his own ability.
But the strong man before him obviously didn't meet any condition. He was now like being pinned by a hydraulic press, unable to move at all.
"Alright, the trouble is taken care of," Thor said, walking back to Yang Le's side. "Now, can you help me with directions?"
"With pleasure," Yang Le replied with a smile.
…
With Yang Le's help, Thor quickly brought the two wounded people to the hospital. This was simple business for him; a quick flight and he was there in under a minute.
But soon Thor encountered another problem: he couldn't process hospitalization for the fainted man because he couldn't pay the medical fees.
As the Crown Prince of Asgard, Thor had lived for so long and never worried about money. Not only did most places not accept his money, but even when he really needed money, he could always produce it.
Thor had money on him now, which he'd brought just in case—a whole money bag of gold coins. Just as he was about to pay at the front desk, he was feeling quite pleased with his foresight.
However, this joy vanished when the front desk told him they didn't accept gold coins.
The front desk seemed afraid Thor, this strong man in strange costumes who could also fly, would get angry, so she made a point of explaining it to him.
The reason was simple: regardless of whether Thor's money bag of gold coins was real, even if they were, she, a hospital receptionist, couldn't make change, and accepting precious metal wasn't in line with hospital rule.
Thor was at a loss. Though he couldn't quite understand the text of Midgard, once the receptionist pointed out the position of the medical fees on the white paper, the long string of numbers made Thor understand: this amount of medical fees was definitely not something to be borrowed casually.
Just as Thor was about to ask if there was a pawnshop, Yang Le stepped forward to help this hero who was stumped by a penny.
Relying on the black card he'd opened for himself, Yang Le easily paid off Thor's bill. After receiving an ambiguous gaze from the receptionist, he also earned Thor's gratitude.
"Thank you so much, champion," Thor said, patting Yang Le's shoulder. The two of them stood in the corridor of the hospital. Unlike Thor, who looked idle, Yang Le was on the phone, notifying the patient's family member.
"If it weren't for you, I truly don't know how I'd make up for my mistake. If you have any requests, just name them. If it's within my power, I'll grant it."
"Actually, I do have a request," Yang Le said, pointing to the money bag in Thor's left hand after hanging up the phone.
