Slums, it's a place we all are aware of but no body bother to help or improve their living conditions. Whether in this world or my previous the situation was same, corruption was everywhere even the church simply turn a blind eye to them.
If they wanted they could have improved their conditions a long time ago but they are simply too lazy or why would people waste their money on something that has no value.
Sometimes, this ignorance costs a heavy price. Which shakes everyone and makes them regret them choices.
Now we are facing the same problem.
I and Luna were going to shopping when suddenly we saw few people laying on the ground unconscious on our way back. We checked their bodies and it was infected with a disease Omnipox similar to Malaria and dengue in my real world .
The problem is no one wants to heal them and even if they went to Healers they will simply rob them or make them slaves for their own uses.
When we first report this to church they simply ignored saying it's none of their business.
But now,
This was a serious issue as now slowly it was starting to spread among children and weak old man. The adventurer have strong body so they won't get affected but kids and elders will still got caught by this disease.
More and more cases are coming and during these days church is quite busy .
Luna and I were ordered to investigate the source of this problem since we were the ones who actually first discovered the symptoms.
So now we currently in one of the slums. As expected, Dirty smell, uncleaned houses and even the water source are not cleaned .
According to my knowledge, mosquito always born in still and dirty water. Now it explained everything. The theory was right . We need to purify the whole slums .
"Luna, I think I got it " I said to Luna who was checking on the people with a mask on her face.
"Huh?- you got it, what ?" Luna asked me confused.
"I mean I now know why the disease is spreading so such " I told her .
Then I explained her all my theory and reasoning as for why I think that in a simple words so even an idiot could understand.
"Hmm, I see, you have a point." Luna said after listening me for five whole minutes.
"But how are we going to convince church for a total purification, I mean you know why would those high level healer will do anything for free" Luna said and she was absolutely right.
" You are they won't but if church orders them they have no choice " i explained her
" But how are- don't tell me you are going to ask the pope directly hahaha , nice joke " Luna laughed at me but I simply looked at dead serious
"You are serious " she asked me
" I am " i replied
"Fine but how are you even going to meet her, she is not your friend whom you can meet anytime." Luna asked
"You will see that later " I said to her as I started purifying the water sources.
Luna also did this since she was also from a poor village as what she told me, maybe she also took pity on them.
After doing this we both told everyone about hygiene and cleanliness importance. To make them aware of their own situation.
After that we head back to church to report.
Pope is the highest power in the church, no one even the archbishop can see her, she doesn't allow it herself.
But I have a plan you see.
While Luna and I were clearing the forest. We killed a boss monster kind of Undead. It was a huge skeleton with a sword and armour on its body.
Luna and I defeated it together. She took the whole sword and armour set Since she didn't have it until now she was just using a rusty sword. She is really a miser when it comes to money. Well I don't judge her everyone have their reasons and circumstances.
I took the cores of the undead it was almost thrice the size of normal core, black and omnious light was emitting from it. It was clearly corrupted.
That's not all we got a special drop that a bigger undead can give you .
It was not something grand but it was still special a formula — to refine a healing pill with 100% accuracy.
A single pill that can cure almost all serious problem can be a life changer. As far as I know there are no pills in the market until now since they are extremely hard to refine and success rate is very low.
But what if this method is introduced then it will just turn the whole market upside down. Since I work under church I can't just directly do a self business or they will brand me as heretic since they can't get any profit from it.
Yes this is the reality. If you can't get what you want no want would get — that's the policy they follow.

Measuring Spoon Set – Precise ingredient amounts
Tongs – Handling hot materials or cauldrons
Filtration Cloth / Strainer – Removing impurities or solid bits
Stirring Rod (Crystal/Wooden) – Mixing the potion properly
Heat Crystal / Fire Rune – Controlled magical heating
Infusion Tray – Soaking herbs in magical essence
I used all my salary of two months and sold all the weapons I got from adventurers since they were useless to me .
I spend more than 70 gold coins in this .I was thinking of asking Luna for money but I still don't trust her completely plus why would I share my profit with her with this kind body of she asked me 90% profit I won't be able to refuse her. It will be my total loss.
But now I was regretting it's says 100% accuracy but I was not able to make a single pill since last week.
Around 30% of my ingredients have gone waste. Atleast there is a way to use them in a low level pill later on so somehow I still had a little hope.
