Pokémon Domain, Fairhaven Town.
This was a place known as the City of Origins, a land that symbolized hope.
To every Trainer within the Pokémon League, this place was regarded as something akin to a holy land.
The very first Trainer had been born here, and it was here that Chairman Aven personally planted a seed called "Hope."
And now, that seed had long since grown into a towering tree whose vast green canopy sheltered the entire world beneath its shade.
Within the castle by the river in Fairhaven Town, vibrant flowers were in full bloom throughout the garden. Lilligant, wearing an apron, patiently tended to the blossoms.
"Lilli~"
As Lilligant moved about, several Petilil occasionally popped out from the soil, playing excitedly in the garden as they chased Oddish with green leaves on their heads.
A few Combee zipped swiftly over the flowerbeds, gathering fresh nectar before flying toward the distant forest, carrying pollen from here to there.
Inside the castle kitchen, Gardevoir, also wearing an apron, was carefully preparing breakfast. From time to time, she glanced toward the staircase, affection glowing in her eyes as if she had thought of something sweet, her face suddenly flushing red.
All at once, a burnt smell spread through the kitchen. Gardevoir froze in shock, then hurriedly tried to salvage the situation. In the end, only a pitch-black lump remained, barely recognizable as something that had once been a cake.
"Garde… Garde…"
Gardevoir sighed helplessly. How had it failed again? She had clearly tried so hard.
At that moment, the castle doors opened, and Lilligant walked in carrying a basket of flowers.
She glanced toward the kitchen, then suddenly turned her head away, letting out an almost human-like huff as if snorting coldly. Placing the flower basket on the dining table, she focused on brewing floral tea.
"Lass~"
Froslass sat atop the castle chandelier.
With a casual motion, she conjured an ice cream and happily licked it.
Her gaze drifted toward the second-floor room by the window, indulgent affection in her eyes—shouldn't the little one be waking up by now?
It was six in the morning. The little girl was still fast asleep. Perhaps she was dreaming of something delicious, as drool occasionally trickled from the corner of her mouth, soaking the pillow.
Slurp—she rolled over and continued sleeping soundly.
Gradually, time reached eight in the morning. Sunlight streamed through the window, and at the same time, a series of rumbling noises echoed from outside.
"Is it an earthquake? An earthquake?" Amy suddenly jolted awake, staring around in confusion.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
The vibrations continued. Still half-asleep, Amy glanced out the window. "Oh… it's just Rhyperior doing its morning training again."
Realizing it wasn't an earthquake, she flopped back onto the bed, and the sound of snoring soon filled the room once more.
In the first-floor hall of the castle, Lilligant, Froslass, and Gardevoir all wore puzzled expressions. At this hour, Aven should already have been awake.
"Lilli!"
Lifting her cup with force, Lilligant drained the floral tea in one gulp, clearly annoyed.
The sun was already out, and Aven had promised to bask in the sunlight with her, yet he was still lazing in bed with that ugly human—absolutely unforgivable!
"Garde!"
Gardevoir crossed her arms, eyes falling on the bread she had painstakingly made. Angry—she was angry too!
"Lass~"
Froslass, however, seemed unconcerned.
Usually, a single word of praise from Aven was enough to make her happy for a long time.
In any case, Aven would come downstairs sooner or later. She truly didn't understand what Lilligant and Gardevoir were so upset about.
That said… today should be the day Princess Amy received her starter Pokémon, right? Was it really okay for her to still be asleep?
Just then, a loud shout finally shattered the almost frozen atmosphere within the castle.
Amy burst out of her room wearing cute pink pajamas, her hair a complete mess, shouting anxiously, "I'm doomed, I'm doomed! I overslept! What do I do? What do I do?"
She dashed straight to the master bedroom next door and knocked frantically. "Mom! Dad! Wake up! I'm late! I'm really late! If I'm any later, all the Pokémon will be taken!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The knocking echoed endlessly, but there was no response from inside.
Seeing this, Amy was on the verge of tears. She had thought someone would come wake her up—how did it end up with her waking her parents instead?
With no movement from the room, Amy could only run to the staircase and plead for help from Lilligant, Gardevoir, and Froslass, begging them to think of something.
"Lilli!" "Garde!"
Lilligant and Gardevoir exchanged a glance.
Although they had promised not to casually go up to the second floor today, the little master had spoken—surely it would be fine, right?
Almost instantly, Lilligant and Gardevoir appeared before the master bedroom door. As Lilligant activated natural energy, the door opened on its own, and a dense aura of Creation God power surged out from within.
Seeing this, both of their expressions changed. They flashed into the room and appeared directly in front of the desk.
On the desk lay a note that read'
'Lilligant, Gardevoir, Froslass—Mira and I have gone traveling. Please take care of Amy for us.'
In an instant, both Lilligant and Gardevoir's faces darkened. After exchanging a glance, their figures vanished from the room—sneaking off without us and trying to elope? Don't even think about it!!!
"Lass~"
Froslass entered the room a moment later.
When she saw the note, she immediately lost her composure as well, vanishing with a Shadow Sneak. "Wait for me! I may be easy to please, but disappearing without warning is too much!"
"Hey, hey, hey, where are you all going?" Amy stood there in a daze.
After a long moment, she burst into tears. She really was going to be late—could someone please help her think of a solution?
Sniffling, she walked to the desk and picked up the note left by her parents. In an instant, her entire body froze—now it seemed she was truly all alone.
"I… I…"
"Waaah, you're all so mean!"
Amy sobbed twice, then looked out the window just as the rumbling sounded again and Rhyperior's massive figure appeared outside.
Instantly, it was as though she had found a lifeline. Uncle Rhyperior might look fierce, but he was actually the gentlest of all, always fulfilling her requests without hesitation. She adored him!
"Rhy! Rhy!"
Rhyperior scratched his head, holding the note as he looked at the little master.
"Rhy?"
What was going on? Master wanted him to take care of the little master?
But he was a rough Pokémon—how was he supposed to know how to take care of a child?
And where had Master gone? Where were Lilligant, Gardevoir, and Froslass?
Huh? What? Just take the little master to the Pokémon Research Institute? Oh… that was easy enough.
Soon, the simple-minded Rhyperior placed Amy on his shoulder and ran toward the distant Pokémon Research Institute with heavy strides.
After Rhyperior left, the shadows within the castle writhed and took the form of Darkrai, who sighed helplessly before melting back into the shadows and following after them.
At last, guided by Rhyperior, Amy arrived at the Pokémon Research Institute. Many ten-year-old children were coming out, each accompanied by a Pokémon.
"Ah, that's Turtwig! And that's Piplup! Ahhh, there's Chimchar too!" Seeing her classmates all receiving their starter Pokémon, Amy exclaimed excitedly and ran toward the institute.
Panting, she finally reached Professor Link and hurriedly said, "Uncle Link, I'm here to receive my starter Pokémon!"
Seeing Amy arrive last, Link was momentarily stunned. He had thought all the children had already come—how had he forgotten Amy? His heart sank. He hadn't specifically reserved a starter Pokémon for her.
"Uncle Link, where's my starter Pokémon?" Amy asked expectantly.
Her eyes scanned around, but as she looked at the remaining Pokémon, her eyes filled with tears.
Turtwig was gone. Piplup was gone. Chimchar was gone. All that remained were Oddish, Magikarp, and Burmy.
Huh? What's that?
Suddenly, Amy's gaze landed on a special Pokémon that looked like a white hedgehog, its upper body covered in lush green grass with a pair of pink flowers by its ears.
"This Pokémon is so pretty!"
"I've decided—this will be my starter Pokémon!"
Amy happily declared, pulling a red-and-white Poké Ball from her bag and throwing it toward the Pokémon.
Wait—that is—Link was startled, but it was already too late. The Poké Ball struck the Pokémon squarely.
A flash of white light appeared as the Pokémon was drawn inside. The ball shook twice on the ground, then clicked shut with a thud, signaling a successful capture.
"That's great! I caught my starter Pokémon!" Amy shouted, rushing over to pick up the Poké Ball.
Meanwhile, Link stood there dumbfounded. That Pokémon was Shaymin—the mythical Pokémon of legend and one of his most important research subjects!
Yet now Shaymin had been successfully captured by Amy. Link could only smile wryly, sighing helplessly after a long moment. "What an accident… I'll let Chairman Aven worry about this later."
"Uncle Link, what's this Pokémon called?" Amy asked, releasing Shaymin and holding it gently as she looked up at him.
"It's called Shaymin, a Grass-type Pokémon," Link replied with a sigh. "From now on, it's your starter Pokémon. Take good care of it."
"Mm-hmm, I will!"
"I'll take good care of it, travel with it, participate in the League Conference, and finally become the Pokémon Champion!"
Amy lifted Shaymin high into the air, a bright smile on her face as she set the goal she would pursue for her entire life.
"Travel…"
"Yes. Then do your best. I believe you'll definitely achieve your dream."
Link forced a smile as he offered his blessing, then handed her a Pokédex Handbook and Trainer ID, officially marking Amy's first step as a Pokémon Trainer.
After leaving the research institute, Amy released Shaymin again and let it walk beside her.
"Shay~ Shay~"
Shaymin glanced back toward the institute and quietly let out a breath of relief—freedom at last, how wonderful.
Then it looked curiously at the little girl beside it. From her, Shaymin could feel an incredibly comforting aura, as though she were an embodiment of nature itself.
"Shaymin, let's work hard together and become stronger!" Amy laughed like ringing silver bells as she took her first step on the path of a Trainer.
A new story had begun.
In the boundless ocean, the Temple of the Sea floated silently.
Manaphy swam gracefully around it, accompanied by countless Water-type Pokémon.
"Aven, is it really okay to leave Amy on her own?" Mira asked, sitting on a sofa in the temple, still worried as she watched the free-swimming fish outside.
"Don't worry. Amy is already ten years old," Aven said with a nostalgic smile. In his time, ten-year-olds were fully capable of traveling independently.
In this era, thanks to the Pokémon League's continuous efforts, the bond between humans and Pokémon had become exceptionally close.
Especially in the Sinnoh region, humans and Pokémon had signed a peace treaty forbidding harm to one another at any time.
The League had even established laws enforcing this—harming Pokémon was now a punishable offense, and the same applied to Pokémon harming humans.
"I know… but I still can't help worrying," Mira sighed.
"Only by letting a fledgling leave the nest can it truly grow. Amy's dream is to become the strongest Trainer, and that means she must work hard in the unknown," Aven said with a smile. "That's exactly why I planned to leave her and let her walk her own path as a Trainer."
"Huh?" Mira raised an eyebrow. "So, you weren't actually doing this just to make up for our honeymoon?"
"Of course I was. Let's cherish this time while we can—who knows when Lilligant, Gardevoir, and Froslass will catch up to us again."
Chuckling, Aven leaned closer to Mira and gently lay her down, but at that very instant, space within the Temple of the Sea suddenly began to distort.
From the moment humans and Pokémon became partners, they were destined to walk together for life.
(The End)
Author's Closing Remarks:
Thank you all for your support. With nearly 1.88 million words, the story of *Pokémon from Zero* is basically complete.
Essentially, it's a story about building an Pokémon League from scratch and creating a world where humans and elves live in harmony.
Although there's still much to write, I feel ending it here is a better choice. New stories will be left to new protagonists. It's a bit sad to say goodbye, but mostly I'm gratified. Perhaps there are many flaws and shortcomings, but I've finally written what I wanted to write, so I have no regrets.
If you look back, you should see that all the plot holes have been filled. Although the final stage was a bit rushed, everything still followed the main storyline. The protagonist became invincible from the start, and there wasn't much left to write about in terms of plot development; all obstacles have been cleared.
TN: Damn, the end huh? Love the story very much, bummed out because the author rushed its ending but still good story right?
I'll probably most two new stories next week well one already translated here but I don't like the translation so I did my own. Be sure to check my profile and the add the story since I'll update till like 30 for the new one and 50 on the other one.
