Chapter 509 - Chapter 509: The Hatching of the Mysterious Pokémon Egg

Originally, Psychic-type Pokémon could meditate together with their psychic trainers, allowing both sides to strengthen their minds in sync. In fact, in the future world, many psychics would use this exact method to greatly improve their meditation efficiency.

Aven and Kirlia had long been training together through meditation—back then, it was Kirlia who assisted Aven in training his mental strength. But now, their roles had reversed. It was Aven's turn to help Kirlia with its own mental training.

"Alright, let's continue," Aven said with a faint smile.

However, just as they were about to enter a meditative state again, the Pokémon Egg sitting on the nearby table suddenly trembled ever so slightly.

Aven's eyes brightened with surprise and joy. "Hm? The egg's reactions have been getting more frequent lately… it seems the little life inside is about to be born."

"Kir!"

Kirlia's expression also changed subtly.

It closed its eyes and carefully felt the wave of emotion emanating from within the Pokémon Egg—there was a strong pulse of vitality, an eagerness to emerge.

The egg began to shake violently, waves of mysterious energy rippling outward. The purple crystal that had long encased the egg shimmered with a faint violet glow.

The next moment, the energy within the purple crystal suddenly surged inward, all of it being absorbed into the Pokémon Egg. The light of the crystal visibly dimmed, as though it were being drained of power.

"The energy inside the purple crystal is being absorbed… is it finally about to hatch?" Aven's eyes narrowed slightly.

This purple crystal had always surrounded the Pokémon Egg, nourishing and protecting the small life within with its immense energy.

Through his research over the past few months, Aven had concluded that the crystal's purpose was indeed to protect and sustain the developing life inside.

Now that its stored energy was being rapidly absorbed, his first thought was that the egg was finally reaching the hatching stage—and the crystal's purpose was coming to an end.

"Lilli~ Lilli~!"

From a distance, Lilligant noticed the commotion and quickly floated over, her golden flower gleaming brightly under the sunlight.

She could clearly sense the strong wave of life energy emanating from the egg—it was nearly identical to that of a fully-formed Pokémon.

"Hm? So, the life inside is already fully developed?" Aven muttered, his eyes flashing with realization. "Lilligant, try channeling your life energy into the egg. Let's see if you can help the little one hatch."

Aven's gaze softened. The scene before him was one he knew well—he had witnessed countless Pokémon births back when he worked at a Pokémon Breeding Center.

"Lilli~!"

Lilligant nodded softly. Streams of life energy began to flow gently from her body, entering the Pokémon Egg like warm spring water nourishing a seed.

Since Lilligant's evolution, her life energy had undergone a complete transformation—it could now be considered the purest, most potent life force in the world, far surpassing any ordinary nutrient solution.

That was why Aven hadn't needed to make nutrient mixtures lately. Instead, he had simply allowed Lilligant to infuse her energy into water, creating a miraculous "Water of Life" that served as nourishment for Pokémon.

As Lilligant's gentle life energy continued to seep into the egg, its trembling became more intense.

"Lilli~ Lilli~!"

By now, all of Aven's Pokémon had gathered around, forming a small circle around the egg, each of them watching with bright, expectant eyes. What kind of Pokémon would emerge from this mysterious egg?

"Draa! Draap!"

Drapion was pacing anxiously back and forth nearby, unable to stay still.

After all, the whole area of the poisonous swamp that served as its territory was closely linked to the egg's energy. Drapion could feel an instinctive affinity toward the mysterious energy pulsing from within it.

Now that the egg was about to hatch, Drapion couldn't help but feel a strange, almost parental emotion rising in its chest—it was like watching one's own child about to be born.

"Nido~ Nido~"

Nidoking scratched its head as it watched its pacing friend, then turned its attention toward the egg.

It couldn't help but recall the poisonous swamp again. Over the past few weeks, its strength had risen dramatically—drawing on the swamp's toxic and earthy power, it could already faintly sense itself approaching the King level.

"How can I truly merge poison and ground energy together?"

This question had troubled Nidoking for a long time, until he finally realized the answer lay within the very swamp itself.

Wasn't the toxic swamp the perfect fusion of poison and ground energies? As long as he could reproduce that same power within his own body, he was certain he could advance to the next level!

Now, seeing that the egg which had birthed that same toxic swamp was about to hatch, Nidoking's heart surged with excitement. Perhaps… perhaps the newborn Pokémon could show him the path he sought!

"Nido~ Nido~!"

Nidorino and Nidorina exchanged a glance, then looked back and forth between their father and the egg.

All the poison-type Pokémon around were brimming with curiosity. Only those who had ventured into the swamp truly understood how powerful that strange energy had been—an aura worthy of the title "King of Venoms."

And now, the Pokémon that had been nurtured by that swamp for who knew how long… was finally about to be born!

"What could it be?"

Even Aven—who had witnessed countless Pokémon hatching in his lifetime—couldn't hide his anticipation.

The intricate markings on this egg were unlike anything he had ever seen before. And combined with the mysterious purple crystal that had encased it, this egg was clearly extraordinary.

Crack!

A sharp sound split the air.

Then another—crack, crack!

Fractures began to spiderweb across the purple crystal's surface, spreading rapidly until—shatter!

The entire purple shell burst apart, fragments scattering to the ground as the egg within was revealed—a pristine white egg adorned with faint golden patterns, lying quietly amid the shards.

A gentle green glow enveloped it as life energy continued to pour in.

Freed from its crystalline prison, the egg suddenly began absorbing life energy at an incredible rate.

"Lilli?!"

Lilligant gasped in surprise and quickly intensified her output, sending even more of her energy into the egg.

But to her astonishment, the egg was like a bottomless pit—it devoured the life energy endlessly!

Even after Lilligant released her full power, she could barely keep up with its rate of absorption!

Seeing this, Kirlia immediately joined in, channeling a stream of pink light of her Heal Pulse into the egg to assist.

Even that wasn't enough. Lilligant quickly invoked Grassy Terrain, summoning the life energy of every blade of grass in the courtyard. The lush green field began to wither and shrink, its vitality flowing into the egg like rivers into an ocean.

Finally, after an endless moment, the egg stopped trembling. It grew still—quiet. A faint white glow began to radiate softly from its surface.

"It's… hatching!" Aven exhaled, his voice trembling with excitement.

The energy waves were extraordinary—thankfully, Lilligant had already reached the King level. Without her, it was doubtful they could have met the egg's immense energy demand.

But what kind of Pokémon could require such terrifying vitality to hatch? Could it truly be… a Legendary Pokémon?

As Aven and the others watched with breathless anticipation, the white light from the egg suddenly burst forth, wrapping the entire shell in a blinding brilliance.

Just like during a Pokémon's evolution, the light pulsed and swirled, taking shape—a hazy silhouette forming within. A vast wave of energy spread outward from it!

"Lilli~ Lilli!"

Lilligant's eyes were locked onto the glowing egg.

Through her connection to life energy, she could sense the strange transformation taking place inside.

It was similar to the energy of evolution, yet somehow distinct—mysterious and profound, like the birth of a new kind of life.

"What… is it?" Aven shielded his eyes from the dazzling light, waiting for it to fade.

Soon, the brilliance dimmed. All the light converged toward the center—until finally, it revealed a small, humanoid figure.

Its arms and legs were short and stubby, with a long tail trailing behind. Its body was completely white, its head disproportionately large with three tubular spikes—like toxic needles protruding from the top. Its face and the needle tips gleamed faintly with gold.

"This Pokémon is…" Aven's eyes widened slowly. After a moment of stunned silence, he murmured the name under his breath—

"Poipole?"
