After a quick shower, Alex dressed himself properly and let himself be guided to the dining area, where the King and Queen were waiting.
"Please sit, Alex," King Aerindir said with a smile.
Alex obediently followed the King's gesture, but froze for a moment when he realized which seat Aerindir had pointed at.
It was the seat directly to the King's left.
He hadn't expected to be seated beside the King of Faelarun himself.
"What's wrong?" Queen Elaris asked in a teasing tone. "Please be seated so breakfast can be served."
"Y-Yes, Your Majesty." Alex walked almost robotically to his chair and sat there stiffly.
Aeris, who was seated right beside her mother, smiled faintly after seeing how nervous Alex was.
"Serve the food," King Aerindir ordered.
As soon as the order was given, the maids moved with practiced grace, filling the table with the best dishes that the King had asked of them to prepare for breakfast.
