Chapter 216 - This is a historic takedown

The sudden influx of information seemed to come from nowhere, with no clear source.

It warned Orsted against attacking the Rudra Familia recklessly.

If he did, a great terror would descend.

Orsted didn't know why, but he felt certain that striking the Rudra familia now would fulfill this prophecy, bringing an unknown, terrifying force upon him.

He also sensed that the Rudra familia's next actions were key to saving the Astraea Familia.

Moreover, he had to save them, or he'd face the disaster he sensed before.

Uncertain but unwilling to test the premonition, Orsted watched Lili and the others battle Amphisbaena, waiting for the moment the Rudra familia's role would reveal itself.

"The Hestia familia is incredible. Even against Amphisbaena, they're holding their own," Bors said, focusing on the battlefield with unreserved praise.

His companions shared his admiration, watching with respect.

On the battlefield, Lili and the others dominated, treating Amphisbaena like a fish on a cutting board.

The fearsome monster rex, dreaded by countless adventurers, was like a lamb to these girls.

When it unleashed its attack, Lili and Eina countered with thunder and fire magic, neutralizing most of its power.

The remaining force couldn't harm anyone, thanks to their defensive items.

Both Lili and Eina used chantless magic.

Though their combined magic couldn't match Amphisbaena's attack, it offset enough to render it harmless.

When not countering, they joined the melee assault.

With level 4 combat power, even Amphisbaena couldn't ignore them, yet it had no defense against their onslaught.

Amphisbaena's attacks, including the attack of its blue head, red head and its massive tail were fully countered.

Eina and Lili blocked the attacks of the blue head, while Senie trapped the red head within two meters, obscuring it completely.

Senie's esper ability was unaffected by its antimagic attacks.

The tail's attacks from the water were thwarted by Aerith and Tifa.

With all three major attacks neutralized, Amphisbaena's only move was to thrash its massive body, trying to dislodge Lili and the others.

Its blue head occasionally snapped at them with blinding speed, but they dodged swiftly and countered.

The red head, trapped by Senie, was useless.

Within minutes, Amphisbaena was riddled with wounds.

Its strong recovery couldn't keep up, as new injuries piled on faster than old ones healed.

Melee strikes, ranged magic, and archery barrages hammered Amphisbaena, dealing relentless damage.

Stubbornly, it refused to flee or submerge, fighting on with its tail and blue head.

Monster rexes never fled.

When Ais fought Udaeus alone, it lost an arm but drew its sword to keep fighting, never retreating.

"Is that really Amphisbaena?" Bors muttered, his eye twitching.

At first, the battle seemed even, but Amphisbaena quickly fell behind, looking like a toy in the Hestia Familia's hands.

Its fearsome reputation crumbled in Bors's mind.

"I'm starting to wonder if it's really a monster rex," he said.

"This feels familiar, like Goliath on the 17th floor!"

"Amphisbaena's completely controlled."

His companions nodded, their eyes widened.

This wasn't the fierce battle they'd expected, something felt off.

"Forget it. This is a historic takedown. I'm recording it! This'll cause a stir on the surface," Bors said, looking excited.

"Let everyone know the Hestia familia treated Amphisbaena like a lamb, they'll lose it!"

"I'll help!" a companion added.

Orsted ignored Bors's antics, focusing on the battlefield while monitoring his racing heartbeat.

"It's getting faster," he thought, sensing the moment approaching.
