The corner of the training room was dark. The bench against the far wall was occupied.
Aria sat with her knees drawn up, her back against the wall, wearing the Kaiden hoodie she'd claimed at Marlowe & Finch and absolutely nothing else. The hoodie had ridden up her thighs. Her right hand was between her legs, glistening, and her silver hair fell across eyes that watched him with a calm, cool intensity that contained no embarrassment whatsoever.
"I knew the gremlin was plotting something," Aria said, her voice carrying the exact soft register she used to ask who wanted breakfast. "She was fidgeting all through the evening. Very suspicious."
She pulled her finger out of her drenched folds, observing the glistening trail with zero emotion shown on her delicate features.
"So I investigated."
Luna went still against Kaiden's chest.
