Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Recruitment

I followed Erik until I saw him heading for the door with a briefcase evidently he grabbed it while i was speaking with Raven and Hank

I followed and just saw him heading for the door and I remembered the scene about to happen.

As Charles and Erik talked and Charles began to head inside, he saw me and was shocked.

I looked at Erik.

"I don't know all that you went through so I can't understand all your motives, but it doesn't hurt to have friends on your side." I said as I walked inside quickly being trailed by Charles.

"What?" I asked feigning ignorance.

"I couldn't sense you, I still can't sense you." Charles said.

"You're wondering how?" I asked with a smirk.

"Yes." He replied curiously but not forcefully.

"The nature of my mutation allows me to do more than just manipulate light." I said as I use telekinesis to pull a pencil toward me from a nearby desk.

"You're telekinetic?" He asked.

"Sort of." I replied.

"I'm guessing that comes with mental resistance?" Charles asked as most telekinetics had natural mental defenses similar to telepathy.

"In a manner of speaking." I said.

Charles seemed skeptical as despite his outward appearance and how he presents himself, he uses his mind reading ability all the time and without permission so he doesn't like not knowing things and right now I am an unknown variable.

"If you're worried that my allegiances may split, look at these and tell me, if you went through what i went through, would you be willing to work with humans if you wanted them hurt?" I asked sardonically.

Seeing that I have no attachment to them as I wasn't there for 90% of it, I gave him access to my memories of those 9 years.

When Charles sifted through all those memories he actually started to cry and he collapsed to his knees.

"I'm so sorry my friend. You went through so much for so long starting at such a young age. I daresay you and Erik surely have many things in common." Charles said having finally gone through the memories.

"My past may be haunting, but it's not haunting me." I said with genuine feelings.

"I understand. I also don't see the memory of your escape." Charles noted.

"You are correct. Maybe I'll show you one day, but that's not today." I said as I turned and started walking, Charles quickly catching up and walking in step with me.

"Yes one day my friend." Charles said.

"Do you think he'll come back?" I asked refering to Erik.

"I don't know, but I believe he will." Charles said as we both walked to our rooms chatting all the way.

(Next day)

I was in the office with Charles talking to the CIA liason about Cerebro as I leaned against the wall next to the window with my arms crossed as Charles sat across from the guy.

As they were talking, Erik walked up and Charles lit up.

"Erik! You decided to stay?" He asked.

Erik didn't answer but turned to the Liason.

"If a new species is being discovered, it should be by it's own kind. Charles and I find the mutants, no suits." Erik said.

"I'll be coming to." I added before the Liason could respond.

Erik saw me, and nodded along with Charles who looked at me.

"First off, that's my machine out there. Second of all, much more importantly, this is Charles' decision, Charles is fine with the CIA being involved. Isn't that right?" He asked.

Charles seemed to pause in thought before replying.

"No. I'm sorry, but I'm with Erik. We'll find them alone." Charles said giving a pointed look in my direction as he said "We'll".

"What if I say no?" The liason asked.

"Then good luck using your machine without me." Charles replied with a smile.

(Little while later in the prototype Cerebro)

Hank explained what Cerebro was and how it works as he placed the helmet on Charles' head.

Eventually it activated and Charles gasped as the new sensation and what he was seeing in his mind and then the machine started to activate, writing down coordinates.

(A while later at a strip club)

Charles, Erik and I are in a private room and while the two of them are laying on the bed with two glasses of champane, I'm leaning against the wall with a smirk.

"You know it's triple for all three?" Angel asked.

"Oh no that won't be necessary. Although I'm sure it would be magical" Charles said only for Erik to add.

"What we had in mind was, we show you ours, and you show us yours." Erik said with a smile.

"Baby, That is not how it works here." Angel said.

Erik snapped his fingers and the metal bucket with the champagne floated over to him.

"More tea vicar?" Erik asked jokingly.

"Don't mind if I do" Charles replied.

"Fill one up for me." I added creating a champagne glass out of light.

Angel looked shocked before smiling.

"My turn." She said as she undid her bra strap and her wing tattoos turned into actual wings and she flew slightly into the air by flapping her wings.

Erik and Charles shared a look with each other then me.

"How would you like a job where you get to keep your clothes on?" Charles asked her.

(Charles, Erik, and I in a cab)

We introduced ourselves and showed Darwin that we were mutants as we began a drive to Virginia.

** **

(State Penitentiary)

A door opened to Alex Summers sitting on a a stone bench looking up at us with confusion.

** **

I told the two of them that I'd meet them at the next one after the one we were about to go to which would be Banshee

(Bar in DC)

Charles and Erik walked up behind a man sitting at the bar with a glass of Whiskey in front of him and one at the empty spot next to him and smoking a cigar.

"Hello I'm Erik Lensherr."

"Charles Xavier." They both said one after another.

"Go fuck yourself." Logan said as he went back to smoking his cigar.

The two of them planned to leave as they were wondering why Andrew wasn't there.

"Hey Logan, did my friends show up yet?"

The two suddenly heard a familiar voice and saw Andrew sitting next to Logan taking a large drink of his glass of whiskey.

"Who are your friends?" Logan asked only slightly curious.

"That would be us." Charles said as he walked back up with Erik.

"Oh it's you two. What are you doing with those two as your friends kid?" Logan asked as he then stood up this version being the non-comic accurate tall Logan, and looked them up and down.

The sight was intimidating for Charles but Erik wasn't really phased as he could feel all the metal inside his body from the guy in front of him.

"Dad, be nice. They're actually good people." Andrew said with a mischievous grin.

"I told you not to call me that kid." Logan replied with a grunt as he sat back down.

"Dad?" Charles asked.

Logan looked back and grunted as I nodded and said. "It's a long story."

I then asked Logan to at least hear their pitch.

"Buy my next round and you got a deal kid." Logan said.

I nodded and placed a 50 on the table and said 5 more of what he's having, knowing that a round for Logan was at least 5 drinks.

Erik and Charles then began to explain everything and looked at Logan waiting for his response.

Logan was thinking for a while befire looking at Andrew.

"I'm not interested kid, Kayla would kill me anyways." He said with a grunt.

"Then why'd you even listen to the propsal?" Charles asked.

"Cuz the kid paid me to, now I said I ain't interested, leave me alone." Logan said as he quickly downed his glass as five more glasses were placed in front of him.

"Get outta here kid and don't forget to visit Kayla, she's been bugging me to tell you to visit." Logan said before grabbing one of his 5 glasses.

As we walked out of the bar, Charles looked at me.

"You already knew he was going to say no didn't you?"

"There was a 99% chance." I said.

"Then why the performance?" Erik asked.

"Cuz it bothers him." I said with a grin.

Charles and Erik raised an eye at that but let it go deciding to rest before going back.
