As I strolled casually through Kuoh's quieter districts on my way home to safeguard my precious find (no, I'm not a hair-carrying weirdo), I let the warm orange sun wash over me like a lazy bath. Hands in my pockets, I hummed a sick tune like the living instrument I was.

"Cabbages and Greens~ Broccoli and Beans~ Cauliflower and Roasted Potatoes~ Taste So Good To Me~"

"Apricots And Plums~ Ripened In The Sun~ Oranges And Yellow Bananas, Good For Everyone!"

…Don't judge me. It slaps when you've had the kind of day I've had.

And nestled safely in my inner coat pocket, wrapped like a relic?

---Gabriel's lock of hair.

'I still can't believe she'd just… given it to me.' I knew she was naive to an extent, but this...

With a smile, a hug that nearly melted my spine into jelly, and heartfeltly asking me to pray to reach her... I'm still not sure if it was divine mercy or weaponized kindness.

"For someone so powerful," I muttered under my breath, "she's really easy to talk to, huh?"

But before I could sink any deeper into my spiral of confused admiration, lustful thoughts, and emotional damage, the peaceful vibe shattered.

Voices that were raised, concerned, and anxious echoed from up ahead.

My grin faded. I picked up speed, turning the corner near the orphanage entrance.

It wasn't that fancy of a place to live, but it was still my place, y'know?

There was Sister Kyouko, talking rapidly with some of the older kids and one of the neighborhood volunteers. Her face was all kinds of stressed out.

"Sister Kyouko?" I asked, my posture easing slightly as I jogged up. "What's going on?"

She turned like she'd been waiting for me. "Daichi! Thank goodness. Did you see Riku while you were out?"

I blinked. "Riku? Little dude with the bottle glasses and the Mikichu plush? No, why?"

"He's missing," she said, her voice laced with worry.

"He didn't show up for the afternoon nap. We thought he chased after the ice cream cart again, but he hasn't come back. It's already getting dark..."

My lips pressed into a thin line. Riku, huh?

He wasn't a kid I spent tons of time with, but we shared meals. Sat near each other. Laughed at the same dumb jokes.

We were from the same place. The same story. Orphan stuff.

'Kuoh Town doesn't seem like the kind of place where kids would go missing, though?' I thought, rubbing my chin. 'It's more of a supernatural place where supernatural things happen kind of town...'

"Should've guessed he'd sneak off again," I muttered, already pivoting toward the gate. "I'll check go check."

'Around the town, and then in the forest...'

"Daichi, wait---"

I gave her a quick wave over my shoulder. "Don't worry, Sister. I've got this."

I was already gone before she could respond.

Strength pulsed in my incredibly dense muscles, warm and familiar. The way I moved was fluid, sharp, and ghosting between corners and alleyways where I couldn't be seen or spotted was like muscle memory now.

My senses extended outward like a net, scanning for anything weird, anything wrong.

If I hadn't run into Gabriel earlier, I probably would've gone to the forest first.

And knowing Riku… Yeah. That's exactly where he would've gone. So I always made sure to clean up beforehand.

"Damn it."

If it's the forest, then it's not a simple case of kidnapping on our hands... But rather, something supernatural.

I didn't like this. Hated the idea that someone like him, quiet, hopeful, a little dull but still trying, could get yanked out of this world by something like them.

Then I felt it.

A flicker.

Like nails scraping across glass—low pressure, subtle, but unmistakably dark. My body went cold.

---A Fallen Angel.

And they weren't hiding their presence.

'Seriously, how arrogant. This isn't like the situation of Rias and Sona being Governors... Isn't Cleria Belial in charge of this town?'

'Or do people not give a damn who's in charge of the damned town...?'

"Found you."

I crouched low, my powerful muscles contracting due to [Body Modification], improving every nerve, every muscle that I needed.

---My body coiled like a spring.

-boom!-

I launched like a bullet through the town outskirts, across gravel, down hills, and straight into the forest where the shadows clung just a bit too thick.

The orange haze of the setting sun stretched across the trees, casting long, burning lines through the forest floor.

That's when I saw him.

---Riku.

He was barely nine, wearing a bow tie, shorts and a short sleeve button-up shirt that made him look as if he was about to raise his finger and say 'Well, actually...' with a nasally voice.

Here he was wandering in a daze toward a tall figure cloaked in shadows and sleaze.

Black and White suit, and two pairs of black feathered wings twitching just beneath the surface.

"There you are… such a precious little meal," the Fallen Angel crooned, reaching out. "Makes it all the more tasteful when I pierce one of you filthy humanspawn."

[Sensitivity Controller]

[Hypnosis]

-

How do I take care of this creep?

-step!-

My foot hit the earth like a hammer cracking stone.

"You know," I said, voice cool and sharp, "I never really got why monsters like you always pick the lowest-level zones to grind in."

The Fallen turned, eyes narrowing.

"And who the hell are you supposed to be?" he sneered.

"That's not important," I said. "You've been alive for at least a couple hundred years, right---"

"---So why are you acting so damn cool when you're trying to kill a child, huh?"

"You---!"

"Don't answer that, it's what you call it? A rhetorical question." I raised a hand to cut him off. "I used to wonder why guys like you with all the power go after the weakest ones. What's the point? No EXP, no loot—"

"You talk too much." The Fallen raised his hand, conjuring a glowing spear of light.

"—Then I got some power of my own. And I realized…"

He flung the spear.

And before it pierced right through my heart... I took out a few strands of Gabriel's hair...

And ate it...

Dodging out of the way, I could see the ground crackle and shatter as I rolled to Riku, grabbing him and moving out of harm's way.

[Sensitivity Manipulation x10]

Once that was done, I flexed my muscles and dashed right up to the Fallen AngeI, slammed into his solar plexus with a firm straight punch, sending him flying into a tree, snapping it in half.

'So going x5000 all those months ago really was overboard...' I came to a sudden realization.

"You bastard!" The Fallen Angel got up in a furious mood, tossing a spear made out of Light Power with all of his strength. "Do you know who I am? I am Sebaniel! A Fallen Angel far above the likes of you!"

-slash!-

I narrowly dodged the spear that cut through the side of my face, however, I was forced to guard as I was suddenly tackled straight through a tree by a furious Fallen Angel

-boom!-

"Hahahahahaha!" Sebaniel laughed madly. "That's how it is! Of course, no mere child could possibly contend with me! I am mighty being under the command of the likes of Lord Azazel and Lord Shemahazi!"

"As I was saying..." I got up, dusting off my dirty clothes. My body quickly started to heal due to the [Body Modification] going into effect, giving me a minor regeneration ability.

In essence, my body was working overtime to patch up the wound on my face.

"The truth is," I muttered, walking forward, "You people do it because you can. No other reason. No higher calling."

"Damn brat!" He snarled, summoning another spear, but I stepped into the glow without hesitation. "I'll kill you!"

"Which is fine, because not everything needs to have some complex reason behind it," I said.

"Think about it, in the Arachnid-Man comics, his origins gets retconed from rising to adversity due to tragedy and responsibility to his life and destiny being foretold by a higher existence called an Arachnid-Totem choosing him."

"But does it have to be that way?" I asked Sebaniel.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT---!!!???" Sebaniel roared as he sent me flying with a slap, only for me to sprint right back to him and perform a flying knee to his face. "Aarrrggghhh!!!"

"Maybe it's because I used to be a regular guy, but I don't think so." Once again, I got knocked away, smashing into a tree and snapping it in two.

'This guy should be somewhere in the middle of Middle-Class, no?'

"But, I'm not a hero. Never was. Never gonna be."

[Sensitivity Manipulation x50]

I dashed under the spear he threw and delivered another blow, but to his groin this time, making Sebaniel collapse as he wheezed painfully.

"But do you really have to be a hero to defend yourself and others from people who want to kill them?"

"Y-yoouuu..." Sebaniel struggled to get up as he summoned multiple spears made from [Light Power].

Honestly, while I was a little stronger than him, facing off against this amount of spears would drain my stamina to the point where he might gain an advantage...

---So I had to make my move.

"It's over."

[Time Stop]

---Time has completely stopped.

"It's time for something new."

[5]

[Body Modification]

A familiar 3-D landscape that was covered in X-rays opened up to me.

And right there in front of my disembodied consciousness was me in all my naked glory.

I won't describe the size of my manhood, as the last time I read a fanfic where the author described the MC's manhood as large and then stated the measurements(5 inches I think?), the readers mocked the writer ruthlessly in the comments because to them it was small.

(All I'll say is, that it was a splendid tool shaping to be quite the monster in the future.)

Hair was naturally indigestible, but what I needed was for it to be in my systembefore I modified my body.

[4]

[Light Power]

A power that belonged to Angels, and Fallen Angels that was superbly dangerous to creatures of the dark, whether Devils, Yokai, or even Vampires.

And I would soon have it.

[3]

I stripped the DNA from the hair, and bonded it to [Spirit Organ] I created not too long ago.

Technically, I did more than that, but I won't bore you with how I used chromosomes, RNA, and Blood and forced them to make my body adapt to them in real-time.

Surprisingly enough, I was still [Human], or at least that's what my body told me.

[2]

As I exited [Body Modification], I felt an urge deep in my soul to unleash what power I had, and so I did.

-whoosh!-

A hormone similar to Adrenaline was activated, kickstarting to process of the [Spirit Organ] being flooded with a non-descript energy that was then converted to [Light Power].

This was done so that I could be able to freely use many other forms of energy or power without having to deal with any backlash or mix-ups.

Naturally, just like how a growth hormone activates and then subsides once the effect on the body happens, so did the activation hormone that constantly pulsed Light Power into my [Spirit Organ]

Meaning that I could use this [Light Power] as if it were originally mine from birth.

---Once I train it, of course.

[1]

Quickly gathering the [Light Power], I used a formula of mine to rotate multiple magic crests in a singular large one, as sparks began to crack around my outstretched hand.

'Sorry Aoko Aozaki, but I'll steal a part of how you format your magecraft formulas.'

[0]

---Time has resumed.

[Light Power Model: Low Power Gatling Gun]

Many bolts of Lightning, charged with Light Power barrelled towards Sebaniel, smashing into him as he smashed through multiple trees before he fainted, his body twitching and writhing as he foamed at the mouth.

"I'm not gonna kill you, of course," I said to the crumpled body of the Fallen Angel. "But you will pay with your body."

"Oh, it's a nice body, all right. Around 180cm with muscles and a nice face! I'm almost tempted to change you to a girl and do some... ahem." I gave his body a once-over. "All that booty, just for me... I'm almost salivating at the thought of what to do to you."

"But with a name like Sebaniel? You were born to be my servant!" I cheered. "Damn, I think I understand why those Devils like tossing [Evil Pieces] at people!"

"I don't have any [Evil Pieces] to put in you, but I can work on some kind of branding... maybe a [Crest]?

"You know what? Your name is Sebas now, and I think I'll use your body as much as I like."

"I'll ruin you so that you can't live without me nor my touch, and I'll modify and hypnotize you so you'll be nothing more than a dog who lives for my touch."

"You'll live the rest of your life only receiving pleasure from following my commands. Sounds good?"

[Body Manipulation]

I then modified his body and shrunk him to the size of a 100-yen coin, then I tossed him into a bag of cinnamon that I carried in my pockets.

I had a lot to do when I get back, and come to think of it, I might be needing my own place pretty soon.

Then I turned to Riku. The kid stood there, stunned, eyes wide.

"You good, kid?"

"I-I think so…" he stammered.

"Good."

I crouched, met his gaze.

My eyes glowed softly.

"Sorry 'bout this."

[Hypnosis]

"You were here, but you were playing by yourself, so you didn't see or hear anything. Afterwards, when it got dark, you went to sleep on the benches. You're safe. Happy. And you'll forget what you saw here. Got it?"

Riku nodded slowly, like he was dreaming, and walked back home

"Same crap, different toilet," I muttered, thinking about the creature I just fought while I cracked my shoulder with a satisfying pop. "So what else can I do but flush and hope it doesn't clog?"

And then I walked after him, humming softly to myself

"It's Another Harvest Festival~ When We Bring Our Fruit And Vegetables~ Cause We Want To Share The Best Of All~ The Good Things That We've Been Given~"

The soft echo of heels tapped against the rooftop as the silver-haired noblewoman stepped lightly into the moonlight. Her cloak fluttered gently behind her in the breeze, and her crimson eyes peered down into the empty forest below.

---Cleria Belial, the current appointed governor of Kuoh Town's supernatural affairs, surveyed the scene with a thoughtful expression.

It was quiet. Too quiet.

Not the kind of stillness that followed an uneventful night, but the kind that followed action.

Then again, looking at the damaged surroundings, anyone could have guessed that.

"But no signs of any blood?" She wondered

Her magic sensors had picked up an anomaly not long ago. A violent but strangely contained spike of energy, completely unaligned with any known faction. No demonic signature. No holy or cursed energies. Just… power.

And then it changed to something... Holy.

And now, there was no one. No body. No blood. No leftover spell residue.

But something had happened here.

Cleria descended gracefully from the air, landing with barely a sound. Her heels clicked softly against the stone as she stepped into the middle of the forest.

Her eyes swept across the walls, searching for traces, sigils, burn marks, traces of magic.

---Nothing.

Not even a lingering aura to suggest teleportation or dimensional storage.

"A Fallen... was here," she murmured, brow furrowed slightly. "But now they aren't."

She crouched briefly, touching a spot on the pavement where the faintest scuff mark indicated a body may have fallen. There was no blood, yet the pressure embedded into the stone suggested impact.

And right around it, nothing but the faintest ripple of energy. One she didn't recognize.

She stood slowly, gloved fingers lifting toward her chin in thought.

"How odd."

A human? Possibly. But no human should have had the power to erase a Fallen without drawing the attention of the Church or the Devils. And even less chance of doing so without leaving a trail of magical disturbance.

Yet someone had.

"Sloppy, but efficient," she said softly.

Cleria's gaze lifted to the moon above as she tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. Her mind raced through reports, any odd happenings. Anomalies. Unusual behavior from local citizens.

Then her lips curved slightly, not in a smile, but in intrigue.

"Whoever you are… you're making a mess in this town," she said calmly, voice like velvet laced with quiet authority. "A town I was placed in charge of..."

She turned her back to exit the forest and walked slowly, deliberately, as if she had already expected their paths would cross someday.

And perhaps, they would.

"I do hope you're not just reckless," she murmured to herself. "But if you are… We'll still meet. Eventually."

She hadn't felt this interested since she had met that one exorcist from the church, Yaegaki, was it?

Her silhouette faded into the night, leaving nothing behind but the scent of a noble devil's presence and a growing curiosity.

"After all, not just anyone can come to this town and stay forever without being discovered by me..."

However, as she left, another figure came to the scene.

"Whew! I managed to come to this town and stay for quite a while without being discovered by the little governor in charge!"

It was a tall man, appearing to be in his late twenties to early thirties, with an average build, black hair, golden bangs, and a black goatee.

---It was none other than Azazel, Governor General of Fallen Angels and of Grigori.

"What in God's name is this?" Azazel said incredulously. "Have we been too soft in our ranks at Grigori?"

"You mean to tell me that you can call the boss for important business and just not show up?"

"I postponed visiting my favorite brothel for this..." Azazel looked around at the restored trees and ground. "And it looks like I came late to the fun as well..."

Trivia Time!!! (Againx4)

While being an incredibly nosy guy who sticks his nose in other people's business, Azazel created a bar named "Black Dog" which is located on the second floor of a building, two stops away from Kuoh Town. It is located near the office of the Slash/Dog Team.

In the "DxD" popularity election, he came in third in the male character category. He's also the third-tallest male character in DxD, after Sairaorg and Mil-tan.
