Chapter 222 - When The Sky Shatters

Something that left the Crimson God utterly stunned happened. The tables had turned. Earlier, they had slammed Fate Divine Kingdom down to force open a battlefield.

Now, Belial slammed Daylight Divine Kingdom straight into their faces, sealing the external passage completely. They desperately pushed their remaining outside power to block it, but everything vanished under the sunlight.

Damn it. This madman charged into the crowd with a nuclear blast.

"Too late. All of you die. Take this, my sacrificial charge."

"Boom!"

That instant turned everything into blinding brilliance. The Divine Kingdom that lit the world beyond sight tore apart the remaining Abyss Rift that had been able to expand because of Fate Divine Kingdom. Amid loud laughter, the Thousand-Year Dragon King completely dissipated.

The bill was truly burned dry.

"Great. Phase one, I traded one for two. Huge profit."

"Next... it's time for the main body to step in, right?"

Far away, the light on the Black Dragon had completely faded. It woke up, shook its head, and looked at the nearly completed Spatial Teleportation Array. The lines were almost finished.

"How did it go over there?"

"Probably pretty good. That annoying aura is gone."

Bella complained out of habit. Safas wiped the cold sweat that had been coming more often these days.

He had finally finished the Spatial Teleportation Array. He had not expected such basic infrastructure to take so much effort. "The next stage is critical. The gods of Abyss who have smashed their own pots will definitely do everything they can to forcibly awaken the sleeping Bahamut."

"Right now, while Bahamut is still sleeping in the egg, we should directly shatter him."

And that was exactly what happened.

After finally catching her breath, Sylvia found herself lying in a massive trench. Her body seemed mostly fine, but her head still felt dizzy. She rubbed her forehead and slowly sat up.

"Hmm... what happened?"

"Is it over..."

She looked up toward the distance, and her pupils shrank. In the far sky, the black giant egg that had been descending slowly was now plummeting downward at terrifying speed.

"We have arrived."

A violent surge of distorted space followed, and a massive Floating City appeared where nothing had been before. The surrounding area for nearly a thousand meters shattered like a mirror, everything caught inside being torn apart and ground into fragments. From the wreckage, a hundred-meter Great Dragon leaped out.

"Good, the dragon has been delivered."

Bella nodded, then turned to analyze the surrounding data, including the meteor falling straight down at second cosmic velocity. Safas also looked up, his gaze sharpening as he spoke with certainty. "There is no doubt, that is Bahamut's unhatched egg. First, I might try to set up a restraining Magic Array there, bind it while it has no strength right after hatching."

"Enough, old man. Stop thinking about suicidal plans. Right now, we need to fly to a point about one hundred nineteen thousand six hundred sixty-two kilometers away."

"?"

"Why?"

He was confused, since holding the front line really was the big boss's job, but they could not just do nothing and hide like spectators at a safe zone. Even staying nearby to offer support would count as help, at least it would feel like they were involved.

"This is my preliminary calculation. It is the distance where we can watch without getting in the way, and still escape if we are affected."

"This comes from calculating Belial's energy index. Honestly, staying farther away lets him fight freely, which is more useful than the little help we could give."

"And if something goes wrong, we can always Blink back."

That was not an exaggeration, since compared to the fight with Ludwig where they could still fire a few shots, this time it was better to let him go all out. Bella also really wanted to know why some creature could gain energy just by breathing without absorbing anything, as if Law of Conservation of Energy had stopped working. She wondered how the writers from the Heisei Era era ever justified this setting.

Now, the pitch-black dragon slowly stepped into the ruins of Fate. The first thing Belial felt was how strange this place was, an unsettling sensation he had only felt twice before. Once was when he fought Radon, and the other time was against Mechagodzilla.

Anything that gave him this feeling was definitely a major threat. He scanned the area and quickly noticed Sylvia crouched thousands of kilometers away. Someone was there, so he would need to be careful once the fighting began.

Then it finally came.

As Belial slowly raised his head and stared at the clouds falling from the sky, a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. He opened his jaws wide.

Above him, a meteor that was King Ghidorah was falling, and he was standing in the middle of a city. It was a ruin, and more coincidentally, he himself was Godzilla. What came next was obvious.

"Since my awakening, my power and cultivation have kept growing. My strength is such that only one thing can match me. Damn, I forgot the line. Never mind, I have never met anyone stronger than me."

"Whatever. I am going to blast you apart. And since all of you like to use terrain advantage, I will do it too. That is only fair."

Belial remembered that most of his enemies always had some kind of environment-altering Domain Manifestation to gain an advantage, while he usually charged in with brute force. But he had two templates, and both were experts in this field. Since there was an advantage to use, he would definitely use it, so he began to move.

Energy Field deployed at high power. Crystal Domain began to form. Finally, Ecological Corrosion was activated.

With each step of the black Great Dragon, the surroundings changed drastically. An unknown force spread outward, and countless buildings immediately erupted with dense Crack due to the immense pressure.

That alone might not seem special, but the reality was terrifying. These buildings were merely an alternate manifestation of Fate, so what kind of power could reduce them all to powder? No one knew, as Belial took his second step.

From beneath his feet, massive clusters of blockbuster crystals spread rapidly like a tide, flattening all nearby ruins. Endless towering Crystal pillars rose from the ground and pierced the sky, while several High Tower stood tall, draining all surrounding energy like pumps, whether it was light, heat, or even kinetic force.

All of it linked together and flowed into the slowly advancing Great Dragon, continuing to spread outward. From above, the land showed patches of Crystal color spreading like a disease.

The final step was Ecological Corrosion again.

For him, this was the most iconic and dangerous ability of this planetary template. Once its true nature was understood, its danger was obvious.

When Ecological Corrosion was activated, everything around him was redefined using him as the core, reshaping the entire ecosystem. From grass to sky, every lifeform in every niche would fall under his control.

It expanded like uncontrolled growth, becoming stronger over time and eventually consuming everything on a planetary scale to fuel his evolution. This enhanced version made even him feel uneasy, because if it were fully unleashed on Earth, all incoming solar radiation and stored geothermal energy would be slowly devoured and completely broken down.

At that point, the entire ecosystem could be reassembled onto his body, consumed, and then he would move on to the next planet. That was the rough effect of his current enhanced Ecological Corrosion.

Brief activation was fine, and besides, this was not enemy territory. Replacing it entirely worked in his favor.

As the final ability took effect, the surroundings seemed to come alive. Green spots appeared on the Crystal mountains, and plants made of stone and crystal rose from the ground, forming forests of blade-like growths.

The buildings symbolizing Fate were covered by dense crystal vines and forests, as if thousands of years of desolation had passed in an instant. At the same time, Belial gained an ecological boost from the area, though he had to suppress the urge to consume it all. For now, he needed to destroy King Ghidorah first.

"Hmm…"

The long-unheard roar of a biological reactor echoed as blazing white light appeared along his dorsal spines. It flowed into the ground like veins, spreading through the entire Crystal ecosystem, which glowed faintly in response.

His wings and jaws opened together as multiple ring-shaped acceleration and restraint structures formed, waves radiating outward from his body. Enormous energy was drawn from within and around him, gathering into visible vortex rings that poured into his mouth, where destructive light burned deep in his throat.

The rings shrank and merged into a single line before his jaws. In that instant, the air around him was nearly blasted into a vacuum by the recoil, and the Crystal beneath his feet was crushed into powder.

"Ultra Spiral…"

"Fusion Reaction Beam!!!"

With a furious roar, a spiraling Heat Ray shot forth and pierced the sky, striking the black meteor in an instant. This was nearly the strongest Heat Ray he could release in his normal state, with temperatures exceeding a million degrees and immense penetrating power. The meteor's surface melted and shattered, glowing red from below.

If it had not been spinning to avoid sustained melting at one point, it would have been pierced straight through. Even so, it endured and continued crashing downward against the beam.
